Chapter 29

Pete

It only took us another month of renovations before we could open the club.

The first steps we’d taken were to interview people to join.

It had been a lot of fun, even if it seemed a bit over the top to have to interview people.

They hadn’t seen it as that, though. A few of them had told us how much they’d appreciated it.

It made it seem like we truly cared about who we let in as members, and I could tell Jackson loved the praise from them.

His biggest dream was for this to be a safe space for every member, and with our fifteen members, we hoped it would be that.

We had interviews lined up for thirty more members, but we had to start out slow, so they were on a waiting list for now.

My mom had taken it well when I told her I was quitting the Mediums. She had figured I wouldn’t have stayed long anyway, But Rino, Daisy, and Kyle were saddened by it.

I was lounging outside and reading a new sci-fi book when I heard Mitch and Nic talking and cooing from the trees in the backyard.

I had no idea what they were doing, and it was so hard not to peek over there, but I had to stay strong.

My relationship with Jackson depended on it.

And to be honest, Mitch and Nic were the perfect ghost roommates, plus it was so hot when they started fucking next to us.

The idea of them getting so turned on by watching us was still such a thrill.

I was getting more and more into the idea of sharing with Jackson, there just hadn’t been any members yet we’d wanted to do it with.

I could tell Mitch and Nic moved closer to where I was and mentioned something about bacon… I tried to focus on my book, but when they stopped right next to me, I heard a soft purring sound, and I turned my head to look at a cute orange kitten with his mouth full of bacon.

“Oh,” I said, surprised. “Hi, there, little one.” I offered my hand for him to sniff before I petted him. He was adorable.

“He likes him,” Mitch whispered, and I could tell this cat meant a lot to them.

I gave the kitten all my attention, gushing about how cute he was. “You’re so precious, yes you are, yes you are. Did you steal bacon from us? Such a good hunter, yes you are, yes you are.” I scooped him up and carried him inside so he could meet his other daddy.

Jackson was working inside, eating some biscuits, so I slowly showed him the kitten in my arms, but to my surprise, the kitten jumped from my arms and straight into Jackson’s, stealing the biscuit from him and purring with satisfaction of a good hunt.

“Who’s this little biscuit thief?” Jackson asked, laughing softly as he petted the kitten.

“I found him outside,” I replied, grinning wide at seeing Jackson pet him. “Can we keep him?”

“Of course! Little Biscuit deserves only the best.”

“Noooo!” I heard Nic wail from somewhere behind me, and I feared I’d misread them on the kitten thing. Did they not want us to keep it?

“How was he supposed to know you wanted him to be called Bacon?!” Mitch snapped, sounding awfully exasperated by his lover.

“He had a piece of bacon in his mouth!” Nic argued back.

I suppressed my eyeroll and refocused on my sexy man petting the small kitten in his arms. Was it even possible for him to get sexier? It seemed like it.

“I need to grab a few things,” he said, handing me Biscuit. “I’ll be back in five.”

Not really knowing what he meant, I simply nodded and sat down in his vacated chair and enjoyed some kitten cuddles. We would need to order some cat food when Jackson returned, he couldn’t live off of bacon and biscuits.

Jackson returned exactly five minutes later, carrying a box with a cat tree picture on it.

I gaped at him, but he didn’t even notice, too busy leaving to get more stuff it seemed.

He came back carrying a litterbox, then some bags filled with cat toys, a bowl for water and food, and lastly, a fluffy white cat bed.

I was sure my mouth had been open since I saw the box with the cat tree, but it wasn’t until now that Jackson met my gaze. He blushed and looked away before admitting with a mutter, “I ordered a few things while you were gone on your last job, okay? I might have forgotten about them until now.”

“You wanted a cat?” I asked, bewildered.

We’d never discussed animals. I’d always wanted one, but it was hard growing up with so many ghosts at home.

Animals would be drained by all their energies, much like we mediums could.

All animals could both see and hear ghosts, which meant little Biscuit would have four daddies to dote on him.

Jackson shrugged. “I just thought it would be nice having a cute pet. And if by some odd chance one of our members is allergic, we can make sure he’s not allowed to roam the rooms we rent out.

“You really believe you can tell a cat what to do?” This man was in for a world of surprise.

“Can’t you? Like with dogs, can’t they be trained?” I refrained from answering such a silly question and let my eyes speak for me. “I’ll take that as a no,” he finally said and I nodded, glad we were in agreement.

“You didn’t happen to order cat food too, did you?” I asked, looking through the bags.

“No, I had no idea how long it would take for us to get a pet, so it seemed foolish to buy food.”

“But you bought everything else? Even a collar, which is really lovely by the way.” It was a light blue with darker blue fish on it. Thinking about Jackson buying these things was just too adorable.

“I did,” he grunted a bit, not meeting my gaze as he looked through the bags himself. I chuckled and helped him empty the bags. Biscuit truly would be spoiled rotten here.

Two weeks later, we were having a fun weekend with our members.

Each room was rented out for the entire weekend, and many came just to have fun with our other members.

For many of them this was sort of like dating, at least according to Jackson.

They could meet others who were into the same thing in a safe environment, without having made any promises.

Exactly what Jackson had hoped for with our club.

Subs and doms could meet here knowing we’d personally vetted them, and since we gave them a location they could meet at each time for privacy, that helped things too.

Many didn’t want their kinks to be known out in the open, and it became apparent when one of the city politicians joined as a sub.

We had each member sign NDAs, ensuring all our members privacy, which was why our waiting list kept growing.

Jackson’s family attorney had been a big help on that, and it had been hilarious watching the old man work through everything with Jackson.

“The last pair for the weekend just arrived. Will you let them in?” Jackson asked.

He was writing down the meal plan for next week along with allergies and such.

We’d only lasted one week before admitting we needed a chef for meals when members stayed over.

The weekdays we could do ourselves, but weekends were tougher, so we hired Benjamin.

He was, to say it mildly, the perfect man for the job.

His fried chicken burgers had caused so many moans, I’d thought there was an orgy going on in the dining room.

Yes, we now had a dining room. At night the room was turned into a place to sit and be social, with the room next door containing the bar and soft music playing for those who wanted to dance.

We’d installed doors that could be pushed away, making it appear almost as one big room when we wanted it to.

We’d decided that each Friday we were open to have a sort of party night with upbeat music and later bar hours.

But the dining room was my favorite at meal times.

We also did deliveries to the rooms if the couples wanted privacy to eat, but most of our members enjoyed eating together.

I loved our members, not that I knew many of them personally yet, but most I’d spoken to several times and they were all so polite and thankful to be invited into this small community.

I eyed Jackson before shrugging. “Sure,” I replied, walking out of the room to greet the newcomers.

Jackson had vetted them himself since I had to go to the vet with Biscuit to get him neutered.

They were the only couple I hadn’t met and I looked forward to meeting them.

With that in mind, I opened the door, only to freeze in place when I saw a grinning Rino and a blushing Kyle.

What.

The.

Fuck.

“Um…” I said, not really knowing what was happening. “Is it a case?” I whispered, figuring that had to be it.

“Nope,” Rino said, beaming wider at my confusion.

“We’re members,” Kyle muttered, not meeting my gaze as he spoke.

“Oh!” I exclaimed. “Ooooooh.” Rino and Kyle were together. OMG! My former boss was what…a dom? And Kyle was his sub?

“Yeah,” Rino smirked. “Gonna let us in or what?”

I stepped aside and did just that. “I have so many questions,” I said, mostly to myself.

“Oh, I bet,” Rino replied, seeming way too giddy about all of this.

Jackson met us in the foyer, his smile matching Rino’s. “Nice to see you again,” he greeted, shaking hands with them both. I was still too shocked to do anything other than gawk at their display of friendship. “Let’s sit in my office and talk before you get your key.”

We all moved to Jackson’s office, which was fully his since he dealt with all the stuff you’d need an office for—I had my library for what I needed. Jackson and I sat down in the two chairs while Rino and Kyle sat next to each other on a couch.

“Explain,” I said, gesturing between them.

I was so intrigued. This was pure gossip and I couldn’t even tell Daisy or Mom about it because of our stupid rules about members’ privacy!

The big boss of Mediums was sleeping with his employee!

This was too juicy for even Mitch and Nic to ignore.

They stood next to us and waited eagerly for them to talk more.

And to think they had no clue on the level of juiciness either!

I was immensely glad I’d told Rino about my ghost situation at home, since I needed him to not tell Jackson anything.

I could trust them both to keep my secret around Mitch and Nic.

I also doubted they would want to admit to my ghosts that they could see them, especially since they weren’t here for business, but for pure pleasure.

Kyle and Rino gave each other a look before Rino answered. “I met Kyle and was… Infatuated I guess you could say. He was just the perfect sub, always beaming when I praised him for a job well done, and then some lines got crossed and the rest is history.”

“How long?” I dared ask.

“He’s been staying with me since he got out of the hospital,” Rino stated proudly.

“You live together?!”

“We do,” Kyle nodded. “I needed a fulltime dom, something I’ve been searching for since returning, and he’s perfect for me, Pete.”

I softened a bit after hearing that. “I’m glad you found each other then.” I knew Rino gave off dom vibes, but I hadn’t seen this coming. I was actually glad. Kyle was my friend so having him be here as a member was perfect, and I liked Rino too.

“We’re so watching them fuck tonight,” Nic declared, and I watched how Kyle and Rino tried to mask their amusement over it.

“Definitely,” Mitch agreed, and this time it was my turn to hide my smile.
