Chapter Six — Bastian

CHAPTER SIX

_____________

BASTIAN

Ifollowed Logan back down the stairs into the main club space, breathing in the path of Trinity’s scent that floated behind.

It felt like following a path of bright stars through the dimness.

I could still feel the warmth of her skin on my palm.

Feel the way she swallowed and moaned while she surrendered so fucking beautifully.

The four of us hadn’t really thought about an Omega. Not because we didn’t want one, but because finding an Omega who loved all of our various and kinky interests seemed impossible. Until Trinity crossed our path like a shooting star.

It felt… I didn’t have the words for it. There was no explanation for the complete reversal of every want, need, and priority I had in my life.

All I wanted to do was more.

More than holding her wrists and caressing her throat.

More because she knew exactly who we were to her, not just Alphas who ran into her in a club.

Whatever the case, I didn’t think there was a way to wait for the match to occur naturally.

We had no idea when her heat might be, and I didn’t want to wait.

Not only because I wanted her to know exactly who we were, but because the kinds of things we enjoyed weren’t things that could be done with any kind of deception.

This whole lifestyle was based on trust and honesty. Hiding who we were to her would do more harm than good, and I already knew I could never harm this woman.

Scent matched. Fuck.

We’d met Alphas who were scent matched, and though I believed they loved their Omega, I hadn’t believed the depth of what they described as a scent match. But I was man enough to admit when I was wrong, and I’d been so fucking wrong.

We made our way along the edges of the club, over to a darker, quieter corner.

There were fewer lights and speakers here, with the area divided into small alcoves with soft chairs and couches specifically for aftercare.

Theo found an empty space with room for all of us and pulled the curtain back so Logan could sit down with Trinity.

Her eyes were closed, hair messy and slipping out of where it was pinned, mask slightly askew. Her pretty green dress ruffled around her bare legs, and part of me wished I’d been holding her legs in order to see more of what those ruffles hid.

But I’d seen the way her eyes rolled back and the way she realized she didn’t hate being spanked. The way she sank into our control like it was the place she was meant to be. And I was the only one who’d seen that. So far.

I sat down on the chair across from her, leaning forward on my elbows. She was in aftercare, so I didn’t want to crowd her, but I still wanted to be near her. We all did, based on the way Brooks and Theo took seats equally close.

“Trinity?” Logan called her name softly.

Those big green eyes opened slowly. She looked around at all of us as if she was just now realizing we were somewhere else. But her scent didn’t change to anxiety or fear. She just smiled, soft and sleepy.

She was in subspace.

Not surprising, given she was clearly new to this. But with how naturally she bloomed upstairs, I was shocked she hadn’t participated before. Underneath that surprise lurked a feral desire to show her everything we craved and how her being our Omega meant she was made for it.

“Talk to me, wildfire,” Logan said. “How do you feel?”

“I feel weightless.” She smiled faintly. “So good.”

“I’m glad.” Logan’s smile said more than any of us could. He stared at her, though she wasn’t looking at him, and the way she was tucked into his chest.

Her whisper was so quiet I almost couldn’t hear her. “I’ve always wanted it, but I didn’t know it would feel like that.”

“Wanted what?” Theo asked.

“This.” She raised a limp hand and gestured around us before dropping it again. “All of it. I’m not even sure what you would call it, but all of it… someone’s mercy.”

My brows rose, and I glanced at the others. We were all looking at each other with the same expression. Had she just said that? Was she even aware that she had said that, deep in subspace as she was?

If that wasn’t a sign that she was truly meant for us, I didn’t know what was. And the looks on their faces told me they thought the same thing.

Her eyes closed again, and she melted a little further. “What happens now?”

“We’re going to rest here until you feel less floaty. We’ll get you some water and maybe a snack. After that, we’ll see.”

“My friends,” she whispered. “I don’t know if Amber told them where I am. They might worry.”

My twin leaned forward and slid his hand over her ankle, causing Trinity to open her eyes and drawing her gaze. “What are their names?”

“Isolde. And her Beta, Cade. They said they were going to be in the throne room, but I don’t know where they are now.

” A tiny giggle escaped her, something that happened a lot when your senses were overloaded with endorphins.

“Seeing them go at it would be a step too far, even if she is my best friend.”

“Cade Barlowe?” Brooks asked.

“Yeah.”

We knew Cade from our time here at Element.

Not well, but when you were in the scene, you got to know people in passing.

I knew what he looked like. He was a Beta and ran a kink-oriented community center down in Clarity Coast which had a reputation for being excellent.

That, and he and his pack recently bonded with their scent matched Omega.

Nodding to my brother, I stood. I would find them. Starting with the throne room. Sure enough, Cade was there in the corner, wrapping up.

A crumpled pile of red velvet fabric laid beside him while he took care of a set of vibrant green ropes and several very thick chains. Clearly his Omega was in the bundle of fabric.

I knocked softly on the doorframe to draw his attention. He glanced up and did a double take, raising an eyebrow over his mask. Gesturing with my head, I called him over. I wasn’t about to encroach on another man’s Omega. Not when I’d just found my own.

Cade glanced at where his Omega was, leaned forward, and said something softly before coming to me. He held out his hand, and we shook. “Bastian. Been a while.”

“We’ve been traveling for Logan and me.”

He nodded. “I figured. What’s up?”

“We have Trinity in the aftercare area. She was worried about you finding her.”

His eyebrows rose into his hairline. “She all right?”

I nodded. “She’s fine. I’ll let her tell you both if she wants.”

The unwritten rules of the kink community were that you didn’t speak about a scene to anyone who hadn’t been present to witness it, unless you were a participant. I’d participated, but I wanted Trinity to be the one to tell them about why she was punished. It didn’t feel like it was mine to share.

“Fair enough.” He looked at me carefully, and I didn’t know if he could see the scent match on what little of my face was uncovered, but I felt like it was tattooed across my forehead.

I asked him the question silently. What was he thinking?

Cade chuckled. “Be careful with her.”

“Because she’ll give you hell if I don’t?” I nodded to the pile of red velvet.

“That too. But more because I feel like there’s a lot beneath the surface.”

When I hesitated, he continued.

“I don’t know for sure, and even if I did, it wouldn’t be mine to share. Call it a dominant instinct.”

Nothing about the way he spoke riled my own instincts. He spoke out of true concern for someone he knew and his Omega loved. I appreciated that Trinity had people like that in her life. “Thanks. I’ll see you over in aftercare?”

He nodded, returning to where his Omega rested. I watched for a moment longer as he stretched out on the floor beside her, reaching out to touch her softly. I still couldn’t see her, buried as she was, but I saw the tenderness in the touch and ached for it.

Mistress Amber waited at the end of the hallway, leaning casually against the wall. “How is she?” She asked.

“She’s all right,” I said. “Pretty deep in subspace.”

She looked me up and down, assessing. Amber was a fantastic Domme and had instincts that were fine-tuned due to running this place for so long. “Is there a reason you stepped in? The four of you don’t usually jump in so fast.”

She wasn’t wrong. With the kinks we liked, it often wasn’t a good recipe for pickup play. Sometimes, but rarely. Still, I wasn’t going to tell her what we knew before Trinity did. “We’ll keep you posted on that.”

Smirking, she pushed off the wall. “I’m sure you will.”

Hopefully we would, after Trinity was ours forever.

The sounds of the club barely touched me as I made my way back to where the others were. Trinity still rested across Logan, now relaxing even more deeply, a soft blanket draped over her. I nodded at Brooks once.

“Your friends know where you are,” he told her quietly.

There were times, like now, when Brooks spoke on my behalf. It made it easier. My voice had permanent damage, and speaking too much hurt. So I reserved my voice for when I actually needed it, like with Cade.

“Where were they?”

Instead of letting Brooks speak for me this time, I crouched beside her so she would be able to hear me. “They were still in the throne room. They’ll probably be here soon.”

I went to stand, and her hand reached blindly for mine. Catching that hand, I watched her eyes crack open briefly and a smile flash, there and gone. “Thank you.”

There was no way to help myself. I lifted her hand and kissed her skin. All I wanted was to pull her off Logan’s lap and into my own, but she was comfortable and felt safe, and nothing would ever be more important than that.

“You’re welcome.”
