Chapter 17
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
NOVA
Trying to do my early morning yoga outside was hard today. The grazes on my hands sting too much, and I’m just not into it. I sigh, giving up before a loud rumbling catches my attention. I squint in the bright morning sun to try and see who it is. I watch as 2 bikes enter the compound, coming to a stop just in front of me. My eyes immediately land on the same blue eyes as mine.
“Nash?” I whisper. He gets off his bike, his eyes searching my face. I smile. “Nash,” I choke out as tears fall down my face.
“Fuck, it really is you,” he says, stunned. He wraps me in his arms, holding me tight. My arms wrap around him just as tight. I sob into his chest as he strokes my head. “I’m so fucking sorry,” he rasps.
I sniff and lean my head back, wiping my eyes. “You have nothing to apologise for.” I smile. Pain flickers through his eyes. “I’m just happy I’ve finally found you,” I admit. He’s about to say something, but we are interrupted by the rest of the club coming out.
“Well, I don’t fucking believe it. The wanderer returns!” Beast bellows. Nash looks up and smiles wide.
I step to the side so he can greet his brothers. As I wipe my cheeks, I glance to the right and my eyes collide with Spider’s. His jaw is set tight, his gaze burning through mine. My lips part, wanting to thank him, but nothing comes out. He looks down and walks right past me, but as he does, his fingers graze mine in a feather light touch dancing across my fingertips. My hand reaches out, wanting more, but it’s gone. I watch him as he walks inside the club. Swallowing, I look away, inhaling a shaky breath, but as I look up, I catch Star watching me. I give her a small smile which she returns. Nash quickly comes back to me with a smile, draping his arm over my shoulder.
“Fire up the pit. Let’s party!” Queenie hoots excitedly.
“Ready to party MC style, baby sis?” Nash asks.
I wrap my arm around his waist. “Oh, I’ve already experienced it.” I laugh.
He smiles, but it soon fades when his gaze narrows in on my grazed side. “Did he do this to you?” he asks, his eyes darkening with anger.
I shake my head. “No, this is self-inflicted. I was stupid and I stole Spider’s bike,” I confess.
Nash raises his brow and looks for Spider. “He kept that quiet,” he mutters.
“Hey, it’s okay. I’m okay. It was my fault and Spider’s bike came off worse,” I vaguely explain. Nash nods, but I know he will press Spider about it at some point. I just hope he doesn’t find out what happened before I stole his bike.
After Queenie announced there would be a party, she went into full organiser mode; she went out and got all the meat for the cookout, and even purchased some ‘Welcome home’ banners. By the time afternoon came, everyone was partying. Club bunnies were banned and marched out of the compound by Star, much to the single brothers and prospects dismay. Star announced it was family time and family only, so no sluts were allowed.
Well into the night, the party is still in full swing. Watching my brother stood with the other brothers, all laughing, made it feel very surreal that I’ve found him.
Scar takes a seat next to me, holding out a drink. “It’s just soda, I promise,” he swears.
I smile and take it. “Thanks,” I mutter.
“It feels good having him back,” he states. “But it’s nothing compared to how you must be feeling being reunited with him,” he adds
I smile. “It feels strange. A good kind of strange. For so long, I thought I would never see him again, and now he’s stood right in front of me.” I sigh. Scar wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. I lean in, resting my head on his shoulder. “Thank you,” I say quietly.
“Thank you for what, sweetheart?” he asks.
“For being kind from the first day I got here, and for being a good friend to me,” I answer.
He chuckles. “Firstly sweetheart, let me be honest. That first day, I was trying to fuck you.” I sit up and look at him shocked. He laughs harder. “Hell, who am I kidding? I’m always going to try and fuck you.” He laughs and I choke on my drink. “Don’t be so fucking surprised darlin’, you are extremely hot. Like unknowingly hot. Which only makes you sexier. And I’m a red blooded male, a biker. I liked what I saw, and I made my play,” he confesses. “Fuck, if I could, I would still be making my play,” he adds.
I jab my elbow in his ribs and he laughs harder, holding his side. “But I didn’t sleep with you,” I snap. “And wait a minute. We nearly kissed and you stopped that by going off with little miss plastic boobs,” I point out.
He raises his brow. “Little miss plastic boobs, huh?” His laughter slowly dies. “I wanted you. Fuck, I wanted your mouth. All of it, but I am no asshole, darlin’. You didn’t, and if you think you did, it was for all the wrong fucking reasons. I fuck women. I fuck a lot of women, but I will never fuck a woman that isn’t 100 percent into it. No doubts, no regrets,” he states.
I pull a face. “I guess that’s kind of a nice thing to say. Thank you for not giving me a regret.” I smile.
He laughs before pulling me back into his side, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. “You’re welcome, darlin’.”
Nash looks around for me, and as his eyes land on me he smiles, but that soon fades when he sees Scar is sat with his arm around me. He storms over, looking furious.
“Uh-oh,” I mutter, sitting up. “Nash, calm down. It isn’t what you think,” I say, trying to stop him, but he doesn’t listen.
He swings his fist directly into Scar’s face, knocking him off the bench with a thud. He leans over Scar and grabs him by the scruff of the neck. “You think you can fuck my kid sister?!” he yells before slamming his fist into Scar’s face again.
“Stop it!” I scream.
“Just stay out of this, Nova. He crossed a fucking line,” Nash snaps.
“No, he hasn’t! He was just being a friend,” I try to explain.
Nash shakes his head, letting out a cynical laugh. “Is that what he fucking called it?” he spits before slamming his fist into Scar’s face again.
I try to pull Nash off him, but I’m just knocked to the floor. “Someone stop him!” I yell. Beast and Rage come running over and successfully pull him off Scar. I crouch down and help Scar sit up. “Why would you do that?!” I yell at Nash.
He’s panting as Beast and Rage hold him. “He fucked you, my baby sister,” Nash snaps back. “I haven’t seen you in years. For years I thought you were dead, and this fucker took advantage and fucked you,” he seethes.
“He hasn’t! We have never slept together. If you would just listen!” I furiously yell.
Nash stares at me for a moment, trying to decide if I’m telling the truth. “Fuck,” he rasps after a moment. He shrugs Beast’s and Rage’s hold off and bends down, holding out his hand to Scar. Scar takes it and Nash helps him to his feet. “I’m sorry, brother,” he apologises. “I just saw red. I’ve just been reunited with my baby sister, and I thought, well you know what I thought. Fuck, I’m sorry,” Nash says, continuing to apologise.
Scar nods. “Would have done the same if it was my sister.” He coughs. Ghost hands Scar a bottle of whiskey, which he takes and downs a large amount. “Fuck, this is going to be sore in the morning,” he groans as he sits down on the bench. I sit next to him and grab a napkin, pressing it against a cut on his cheek.
“Nova, I’m sorry,” Nash apologises.
“You’ve been out of my life for years. What right do you have to determine who I get to be with?!” I say sharply. I look around and all of the MC is looking between Spider and me. I glance at Spider and shake my head. We can never tell him what happened between us. If he can be this angry with Scar, what the hell will he be like with Spider? “Go cool off and leave me alone,” I fume.
“Nova, I’m sorry,” Nash apologises again before walking away.
I return my attention to Scar. “I’m so sorry,” I tell him softly.
He smiles while still wincing in pain. “No problem, sweetheart. It’s what we do. Lay down our lives for our family, even if that means going against another brother.” He smirks.
I grab another napkin, ensuring to hold his face as still as I can so I can do my best to take care of the cut. “Well, myself and Spider are in your debt. You name it, and I will do it.”
“You and Spider, huh? Well, I’m no mathematician, but I count that as 3 of us, sweetheart. What do you say? Reckon you could handle the both of us?” he asks, winking.
I laugh and shake my head. “Seriously, you’ve just got your ass beaten for not sleeping with me. You really want to risk it again, for actually sleeping with me?”
Scar shrugs. “We’ve all got to die some time, and the way I see it if Acid was to kill me after that, I’d die a happy man,” he brags.
I look at him. “You’re serious, aren’t you?” I ask, feeling a little astounded that he would suggest it, and more to the point, why does the thought of being shared excite me a little?
His eyes sparkle. “I’m as serious as you are thinking about it,” he counters, seeing the intrigue on my face.
My cheeks heat and I shake my head. “No, just no,” I state firmly.
Scar smiles. “I’ve awakened something, haven’t I, darlin’?”
“I, er, um—” I stutter.
“Here, I have the first aid tit. Let me stitch it up,” Dixie says, thankfully interrupting the conversation.
“Oh, yep. He will definitely need the tit, er, I mean kit! The first aid kit. Yes.” I pause. “Oh, would you look at the time? I’m off to bed. Night!” I rush out, panicked. I speed walk back into the club to my room and shut the door quickly behind me, leaning against it. I stand there for a moment, trying to catch my breath.
How in the hell did the night turn from a happy occasion to me now feeling like this?
A knock at the door startles me. I let out a little startled scream and open the door. Seeing Spider stood there on the other side, my eyes go wide. “What are you doing here?” I hiss. I peek my head out, looking left down the hall and then right, making sure that Nash doesn’t catch him. I grab his T-shirt and yank him inside my room, closing the door behind us. I turn to face him, crossing my arms over my chest. “What do you want?” I ask.
“I came to see you were okay, and to thank you for not telling Acid,” he states.
“Is that it? Well, you’re welcome, but I’m not so sure it’s me you should be thanking,” I snap. I march forward and open my door to let him out, but as I do, Spider steps forward to leave before stopping in front of me, his eyes assessing me.
“You’re flushed,” he comments.
“I feel a little hot, so thank you for your observation,” I state sarcastically.
“You only get flushed when you orgasm, or when you’re turned on,” Spider comments, his eyes darkening.
“Well…” I cough, clearing my throat. “You don’t know everything about me,” I lie, looking down.
He grips my chin, forcing me to look at him. “Don’t lie to me, sweetheart,” he warns, his eyes searching mine. “Was it something Scar said?” he asks. I try to keep my face neutral, but he sees something and smiles. “What did he say? Did he say about how he wanted to fuck you?” he presses.
I swallow, hating how dry my mouth feels. “Not just him,” I whisper.
Spider raises his brow, his gaze burning with desire. “He suggested what? The three of us?” he rasps softly, his tongue slowly gliding along his bottom lip. I give a subtle nod. He smiles. “And that turns you on? The thought of us worshiping your body with our mouths and hands. Filling you, bringing you so much intense pleasure you won’t be able to handle it?” He growls low in his throat. He runs his thumb along my bottom lip, his eyes intently fixed on my mouth before he lowers his mouth to mine, his lips just grazing mine. “You’re like a beautiful intoxicating poison. Dangerous, but I just can’t seem to get enough of you,” he breathes. “As much as the idea of the three of us fills my head with some fucking delicious images, I don’t think I could share you. Not now,” he adds
I stand there frozen, waiting for him to kiss me. “Please,” I whisper. He gently presses his lips to mine, a kiss that’s barely there. I lift up onto my tiptoes, trying to deepen the kiss, but he breaks away. He leans down and rests his forehead on mine, his eyes closed like he’s in pain. “What’s wrong?” I ask.
He exhales a slow breath. “Wanting you is what’s wrong,” he confesses. He opens his eyes and cups my face. “There is something...” He pauses. I search his eyes, wondering what it is he is trying to tell me. “Never mind. Good night,” he says before turning and walking out of the room.
