Chapter Seven Katy
Chapter Seven
Katy
Katy woke to the feel of luxurious cotton sheets against her skin. She sat up, a weight moving in her head.
‘Ow,’ she moaned, turning to see a naked Mason sound asleep beside her.
She ran her hand up his muscular back, admiring every inch of his skin.
They’d been up most of the night, bent into positions she hadn’t thought possible.
Her mind flashed back to him pounding on top of her, as she scraped her nails into his skin.
She traced the pinkish claw marks with her fingers, a small smile crossing her face.
Mason stirred and opened his eyes.
‘Mmmm . . .’ he murmured, turning his handsome face around to face her. ‘Hey, beautiful, you good?’
Katy nodded, suddenly aware of how stark bollock naked she was. ‘I am good,’ she said, smiling shyly. ‘A bit sore, though,’ she admitted.
‘Sore? Oh no. Down below?’ Mason asked, his brows raised with curiosity as he propped himself up on an elbow.
Katy blushed, nodding slightly. She felt as if her fanny had just birthed a hedgehog.
‘Yeah, sore head and sore . . .’ She wondered what the American translation of fud was.
Mason’s eyes widened cheekily as he edged closer. ‘Would you like me to kiss it better?’
Katy laughed, knowing she’d love nothing more, but also realising she desperately needed a quick bird bath in the sink first to take away the stink from a serious night of shagging. She kissed Mason’s soft lips and stood up.
‘Let me nip to the toilet first, then I’m all yours!’ she promised, grabbing her bag and shuffling into the pristine bathroom.
She unzipped her clutch and pulled out her phone. Twenty-six missed calls. Her heart sank. She scrolled through streams of messages from Ella and Zola, then checked the time: 09:09.
Oh no.
Fuck.
Oh fucking no.
She bolted back into the bedroom, bumping into the furniture.
‘Hey, hey, what’s up?’ Mason asked.
‘Mason, it’s ten past nine! I have my meeting. I’m going to be late,’ she said, panic rising.
He glanced at his watch. ‘Shit, fuck! No! Me too!’
Katy sat down on the bed, her hands shaking almost too much to text the girls back.
Katy: Guys, I’m sorry. I’m OK, just overslept. Send me the address and I’ll meet you there before ten xxx
Katy: I’m so so sorry xx
She stood up, pulled on her tiny boob-tube dress, then made her way back to the bathroom to wash last night’s makeup and semen off her face. She glanced at her reflection in disappointment. Fuck. Mason approached from behind.
‘Hey, hey, you’re gonna be fine, yeah?’ His voice was gentle as he noticed how stressed she seemed.
‘Look at me, Mason.’ Katy sighed. ‘I’m going to have to go into this meeting looking like a hooker.
I can’t get changed; I have no makeup. This is the biggest opportunity of my career and I’ve blown it.
’ She felt her shoulders drop. ‘I think I’m going to tell Zola and Ella to go without me.
They’ll make a better impression without me showing up like this.
’ She looked down at her almost non-existent dress and shook her head.
‘Whoa, whoa. That’s not true. Stop it. Hey, how about .
. .’ Mason stepped back into the bedroom and lifted his white Ralph Lauren shirt from the floor.
‘What about this?’ Coming back to her, he touched her face thoughtfully.
‘Wear it, and it’ll remind you of me and the amazing night we had. ’ He shrugged, his eyes playful.
Katy found her face breaking into a soft smile. ‘I don’t think I could forget last night if I tried,’ she replied, gazing into his kind face. ‘What will you wear?’
‘I have a clean shirt in my case. Besides, you’ll look better in that than I ever did.’ Mason draped the shirt around her shoulders and winked.
‘Thank you.’ She grinned, tying the material at the front to make it look more stylish. ‘I really do have to go, though.’
‘You do, and hey, I know you’ll crush it,’ he said, flashing her an encouraging smile. ‘I’ve got to rush out too – I’m going to be late for my appointment.’
Katy pressed her forehead against his. ‘I don’t want to leave and never see you again,’ she admitted.
He nodded. ‘Let’s stay in touch and see what we can manage. Transylvania isn’t too far from here, remember?’
Katy laughed.
‘Seriously, though, I can’t remember the last time I had a night like that,’ he said.
She pressed her lips against his. ‘Me too.’
Her phone began vibrating against the sink, making her jump.
‘OK, I really do have to go,’ she said. ‘My friends might disown me at this rate.’
‘Good luck.’ Mason kissed her once more. She pushed past him, grabbed her shoes and bag, then made her way down to the lobby of The Carlyle to catch a cab.
