Chapter 15 Koby
Koby
Reluctantly, I’ve left Rayna at home so I can meet with Liam for a progress update at the house. Parking Rayna’s car in a miracle spot a few houses away, I approach my house and am pleasantly surprised.
“Aria! What are you doing here?” I hug and embrace my daughter, who is standing at the front door, talking to Liam.
“I got in a little early and was going to surprise you but auto-piloted coming here.”
“You should have let me know. I would have collected you from the airport.”
“And ruin the surprise? Never. I've only just got here, so good timing.” She smiles. Her own dirty blonde hair shining in the sunlight.
“Sorry! Liam, my daughter, Aria. Aria, my builder, Liam.”
They nod and shake hands politely.
“We need to head around the house, but you’re welcome to wait in the lounge room?” Liam notes to Aria.
“That’s okay. I’ll walk around too,” she replies sharply.
Liam and I reach for her luggage at the same time. Liam is inside the house and waves me off to pick up her luggage and put it in the house. I put my arm around Aria’s shoulders and we walk into the house.
“Liam grew up in Parsley Bay. Can’t believe you both don’t know each other,” I exclaim to her.
“Yeah. Must not have hung around the same places,” she remarks. “How have things been at Rayna’s?”
I school my face. Rayna doesn’t want to let anyone in the family know about us just yet.
I’d take over the first podium of the season to announce it, but I respect Rayna’s wishes and will do whatever she wants here.
“Great. We aren’t getting on each other’s nerves, and I am being the perfect houseguest.”
“Well, look at you. Mum said I can stay with her whenever I want, no issues, so I’ll split my time between the two of you.”
“Whatever is easiest for you.”
Liam turns to us, and I nod to him to start the tour.
He takes us around the house, pointing out where a few points have degraded more than expected, however, it isn’t as bad as other houses in the area, and his plans on how he’ll tackle the work.
To be honest, I’m not really paying attention.
This house is just a means to an end for me.
A place to store my surfboard so I can hit the beach within a five-minute walk. And now? I’m at home wherever Rayna is.
I instruct Liam to do whatever he needs to do and take as long as he needs, keeping in mind that over the Christmas and New Year break, companies close down and not to stress too much and impact his own Christmas plans. To which, he is surprised at my instruction, but relieved to not be pressured.
“Do you need a lift anywhere?” I ask Aria as we wrap up with Liam and I motion towards the car.
“I was coming to see you before heading to Mum’s, but she’s gotten held up in Hobart, so I'm all yours.”
“Throw your suitcase in the car, stay at Rayna's there until your mum's home.” I put her luggage in the VW and head back.
Rayna pulls Aria into a long hug and adds more food on the table in the back patio, and grabs a glass for Aria to sit and catch up. It’s a gorgeous day, so outside is perfect.
Aria marvels at the changed space as Rayna takes her through to the back patio. Rayna tries to excuse herself, but Aria insists on her staying to catch up. Going through Aria’s season essentially running the enduro side on her own and some of her struggles.
After about an hour, Rayna stands to leave.
“I’ll give you both some time to catch up one-on-one. You’re welcome to stay here whenever you’d like over the break. We have plenty of space until everyone starts arriving. And even then, it’ll just be tight fits.”
“Thank you. I’ll call Mum and see how she’s going, and when she thinks she’ll be back. She is helping out a sick friend, and I don’t want her to rush back for me. I can always stay with friends too, so I’m not taking up room.”
“Whatever you’d like to do. We have the room; it’ll just be noisy,” Rayna offers and heads inside.
Aria watches her leave then turns to me. “Same caring Rayna.”
“Pretty much. Hasn’t changed since I met her.”
“Well, that’s adorable.”
“I don’t know how to respond to that.”
We both erupt in laughter.
Aria catches me up on the last few weeks on the enduro business and the meetings she was wrapping up with in Melbourne, and I discuss my new sportsbike team decision and the need to spend this next year looking for crew members, noting that Rayna owes me a few favours.
Rayna comes back out and says, “Aria, downstairs has an ensuite if you feel like having a shower. Feel free.”
“Thanks, Rayna! Actually, I might go and have a shower after the delays and flight in. Who has an eight-hour delay from Melbourne to Sydney!?”
Rayna shows Aria where the ensuite is before heading back out to sit with me.
She goes to sit down next to me, but I reach out and grab her arm and yank her onto my lap, sitting sideways, her back towards the house.
Her arm across my shoulders. Her hand finds my chin and runs through the short stubble.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“Sitting down.”
“Not on the right seat.”
“I sit corrected,” she laughs.
Reaching my hand to her jaw, I pull her down to meet my lips.
Rayna spares no time getting up after sighing, putting a hand on my chest and sitting next to me, looking into the house to make sure we haven’t been caught out.
I take her hand and bring it up to my mouth.
My lips brush the back of her hand. She leans in close to me, but keeping an eye on the inside of the house.
Making sure there is no incoming Aria to catch us.
Who are we? A couple of sneaky teenagers? Actually, yeah. Feels like it! Her chin rests on my shoulder to whisper. “Seeing how the rest of the family are here soon, do you want to stop by my room tonight?”
More making out with Rayna? Sign me the fuck up. “Absolutely.”
“Okay,” she replies and rushes to lock her lips on mine. As quickly as she was on me, she is breaking away and putting distance between us. Moving to sit on the opposite side of the table. But I don’t care. I still get to look at her beautiful face.
“I didn’t realise you were picking Aria up from the airport.”
“I didn’t. She was at the house. Must have forgotten I was here, and just turned up there without thinking. Good timing Liam was there to see her.”
“How is Liam going with everything? How’s it coming along?”
“Slow-ish. A few areas are worse than he expected, but I told him to take his time. I’m not in any rush to leave here.” I smile wickedly at her, and red blush splashes instantly across her face.
“Okay, I'm now sufficiently refreshed!” Aria announces as she walks through the back door.
She walks behind Rayna and squeezes her shoulder gently and sits next to her. “That bathroom is gorgeous.”
“That’s Liam’s handy work. He’ll do a great job on your Dad’s place.”
Aria nods in reply.
“Can I get everyone something a little stronger? Beer? Wine?” I ask, standing, pointing to the empty water glasses on the table. “Day so pleasantly calls for some white.” Rayna smiles coyly at me.
“That does sound good,” Aria agrees.
I head into the kitchen to retrieve a bottle and three glasses and glance out to the back. Rayna, looking stunning, and Aria, grown up, self-assured and graceful. Two of the most important women in my life, sitting together, enjoying each other’s company. Love blooms in my chest.
It was a lovely afternoon getting tipsy on the patio catching up both personally and professionally.
Aria excused herself to have an early night, and Rayna and I made our way up to the second floor.
She walks in front of me. Deliberately slow.
Drawing it out. Making me watch her glorious ass take each step.
We get to the top of the steps and she turns around, but I put my hands on her hips and keep walking.
Pushing her up against the closest wall.
Her eyes lustfully looking into mine. My hands roam up her body slowly until they are gripping her face.
My body pressing hers into the rigid wall.
Her breathing laboured at the anticipation of my lips on hers.
Footsteps from downstairs cause us to pause.
We hear Aria walk to the kitchen, get a glass of water and then head back to her room.
“I’ll give it a few then come in to see you,” I whisper, my lips hovering over hers, not touching.
She nods.
“I won’t be long.”
She presses herself against the wall for more leverage to push against me. Fuck, I wish we were naked. Feel her rub her pussy against my leg.
“Don’t knock, just come in,” she manages. It was my turn to nod, then step back to let her out of my press against the wall.
She walks to her door, and I take her place leaning against the wall, watching her. She turns to look back, locking eyes with me, and closes her bedroom door.
I lean against the wall for several moments before pushing myself off and heading into my room.
I lie on my bed and pull my phone out to waste some time before going in to see Rayna.
Looking down at my cock pressed against my soft fabric shorts.
Fuck. I don’t know what Rayna has planned, but he certainly has high hopes.
