Chapter 46

From the texts of Ben -)

Melody: But it’s okay. I kind of like it. *blushing emoji

Ben: I’m glad to hear that because I do miss you and I don’t want to hide it from you.

Now that I’ve finally gotten you into my arms, I can’t wait to get you back there.

I knew you’d fit perfectly, both against my body and in my life, but knowing it isn’t quite the same thing as experiencing it.

And now that I’ve experienced it, I can’t help but crave it.

Melody: You really know what to say to a girl.

Ben: It’s nothing but the truth, sweetheart. You’ve gotten under my skin and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Melody: Does it help if I say that I miss you, too?

Ben: It does. I would deal if you didn’t, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone in the “missing you” department.

Melody: I’m glad this is a short road trip.

Ben: Me, too. I’ll be back in Chi-town before you know it.

Melody: Really? Chi-town? Aren’t you a little too local to be referring to Chicago as Chi-town?

Ben: Did it make you smile?

Melody: It did, actually.

Ben: Well, then. Mission accomplished.

Melody: You’re silly.

Ben: If it brings a smile to that beautiful face of yours, I can deal with that.

Melody: *blushing emoji <3

Ben: I need to turn in if I’m going to be in good shape for tomorrow’s game, but I’ll see you when I get home tomorrow. Are we still on for dinner?

Melody: We are. I went to the market this afternoon and picked up everything we’ll need so that I won’t have to rush after work tomorrow.

Ben: Thank you for doing that. You know you don’t have to cook for me if you’re busy, though, right? We can always eat out or order something in.

Melody: I know, but I like to. Restaurants are great, but there’s something about a nice, home-cooked meal that I love. I enjoy making it, but also like knowing what’s in my food.

Ben: If you’re sure.

Melody: I’m sure. :-)

Ben: Thank you.

Melody: You’re welcome. :-)

Ben: I’m sure we’ll talk before then, but I’ll send you a text when our plane lands so you have a better sense of when to expect me.

Melody: Perfect. I’ll look forward to seeing you then.

Ben: Me, too, sweetheart. Me, too.

Ben: Sweet dreams, Melody.

Melody: Sweet dreams, Ben.
