Chapter 26
Chapter Twenty-Six
Stone sat in the SUV that Locks had picked them up in. He’d wanted to ride his motorcycle because he figured the ride back from Enid would be a good way to decompress after dealing with Naomi’s ex, but Locks had convinced him that they needed to be less conspicuous when they visited Jared.
Unfortunately, since Stone wasn’t driving, he had entirely too much time to think about what he wanted to do to Jared, but he needed to be restrained in what he did.
Stone had clocked the type of man Jared was after being in his presence because he’d seen so many of Jared’s type in prison—entitled, believing they were above everything, and that they could get away with anything.
Stone hadn’t met Naomi’s father yet, but he guessed Aaron had the same type of attitude. They believed their money and connections made them above the law. Unfortunately for them, Locks and the MC had just as many, if not more, connections.
“It seems Jared had an issue at his house and needed to stay home from the office today. The house is in this subdivision,” Locks noted.
The houses were nice but very cookie-cutter. He wondered if Naomi had any say in where they lived or if this was all Jared. Locks did a three-point turn to back into the driveway. He pulled some jackets out and handed one to each of them. Stone read the back.
FUGITIVE RECOVERY AGENT was in large yellow letters. Stone slipped his on.
“Let’s get this taken care of. Do we know if he’s right or left-handed?” Stone asked.
Locks chuckled as he walked toward the door. “I like how you think. Yes, Beth said he’s right-handed, so keep the damage to his left. Let me get us in,” Locks replied.
Locks rang the doorbell. Stone worried because the house had those video doorbells and cameras. He didn’t want this coming back to haunt them.
“Beth texted that she shut the video feed down on all the outside cameras as we entered the neighborhood and will keep them off until we leave,” Cannon reassured him.
Stone appreciated everyone helping out.
The door opened with Jared in a suit. “It’s about time you got here.
When I call for someone to come fix my sprinkler system that’s flooding the backyard, I expect you to get here in a decent amount of time,” Jared snapped, walking away and heading toward the back of the house.
Stone followed Locks, with Cannon watching their back.
“Well, are you going to get out here and look at the problem?” Jared demanded, waving his hand toward the back door.
“No, we’re here for another reason. Stone, would you like to chat with Jared?” Locks invited calmly.
Jared’s eyes widened, and he made to run past Cannon, but Cannon grabbed his shoulder and pressed down until Jared sat at the kitchen table.
Stone sat down across from him. “We seem to have an issue, Jared. Naomi would like you to relinquish all parental rights, but instead of granting her what she deserves, you threatened her, which I won’t allow,” Stone stated, his voice dropping to a dangerous register.
“You won’t allow? What right do you have to allow anything?” Jared sneered.
“When I was inside her, giving her an orgasm that you’d never even attempted, I decided that she didn’t deserve to worry about what you might do to those sweet girls,” Stone countered flatly.
“Bitch never could get off.”
Stone reached across, grabbing Jared’s left hand. “See, now you had to make it nasty. I don’t like that word. Now apologize for calling her that,” Stone commanded, bending Jared’s index finger back until Jared started screaming.
“No, I don’t want to hear you scream ‘quit.’ I want to hear you say you’re sorry.
Now practice it,” Stone ordered, grabbing Jared’s middle finger to bend it back with his index finger.
Jared’s screams and the tears pouring down his face were satisfying but didn’t make up for the pain he had put Naomi through.
“I’m sorry I called her that name,” Jared blubbered. “Please stop.”
Stone let go of Jared’s hand. He stood up to pour Jared a glass of water.
“Here. Like I said, I won’t allow Naomi to worry about you hurting the girls. Before we move on, would you like to go ahead and sign the papers?” Stone demanded.
“Please say no because I was really looking forward to participating in this,” Cannon chimed in, cracking his knuckles.
Jared stared at Cannon, his eyes darting to Locks, then back to Stone.
“What do I get if I sign?” Jared countered, trying to sound brave.
Stone shook his head. Jared seemed under the illusion that he still had power and could negotiate.
“If you sign, then these pictures don’t end up at the newspaper office,” Stone said, opening the envelope and fanning out the pictures of Jared in compromising positions and outfits engaging in sex with multiple women.
Stone had a pretty strong stomach, but Jared, with a pacifier in his mouth having his poopy diaper changed by a large-breasted woman in a corset, almost had him losing his lunch when he’d seen it.
“Where did you get these?” Jared croaked, the color draining from his face.
Locks had been quiet, letting Stone lead, but at this, he stepped forward.
“My company knows everything. You don’t have a secret that I can’t find. So, what are you going to do now?” Locks challenged.
Cannon jumped back from where he’d been standing by Jared, holding his shoulder.
“I knew I had a badass father-in-law but making him piss himself with just your words? I think I’ll need lessons for when the kids are in high school. Think how great a skill it would be when it’s dating time.”
Stone didn’t believe he’d be smiling during this unless it was in joy at hearing Jared scream, but he admitted that Cannon had a good idea.
“I’ll sign,” Jared choked out, holding out his hand for a pen.
Stone moved the papers in front of him and handed him the pen. “Legible to hold up in court,” Stone ordered.
Jared signed all the paperwork. Stone looked it over and handed it to Locks to check. Stone was fuming and wanted to make sure he didn’t miss anything.
“Looks good to me,” Locks confirmed, sliding it into the long case he’d brought in. Stone had wondered about it when they went to the front door, but he’d figured Locks had brought it to sell that they were workmen.
“Now comes the fun part. Stone, I brought you something if you’d like to use it,” Locks revealed, turning around to show a switch in his hand.
“No, no. I signed the papers!” Jared yelled. Cannon pulled a sock out of his pocket and shoved it in Jared’s mouth.
“Where did you get that?” Locks chuckled.
“Hank stepped in milk he spilled this morning and took it off. I picked it up and put it in my pocket because you never know when someone needs to be kept quiet,” Cannon said, grinning.
“I appreciate that suggestion. Let’s take this to Jared’s bedroom,” Stone decided, grabbing Jared’s arm to drag him out of the chair and push him toward the stairs. Naomi had described how Jared made her stand when he corrected her.
Once they were in the bedroom, Stone stopped.
“Take off your pants,” Stone commanded.
Jared shook his head, reaching to grab the sock out of his mouth.
“Leave it, or I’ll put something else in there that’s worse,” Stone warned.
When Jared didn’t move fast enough, Locks brought over scissors to cut Jared’s pants off.
“Underwear too?” Locks offered, snapping the scissors.
“No, I definitely have already seen too much of this guy. I don’t want to see any more wrinkly ball sacks,” Stone groaned.
Once his pants were off, Stone pushed him toward the bed.
“Assume the position you demanded Naomi be in—now!”
Jared turned toward the bed, leaning to put his palms on it, his butt in the air. His thighs were perfectly placed for Stone to use the switch.
Stone took the switch and let all the anger he’d felt at what Naomi went through bubble up and fuel his swings. He kept enough control to give him the same straight stripes Jared had given Naomi. When he was done, he handed it to Locks.
“Your turn,” Stone breathed, stepping aside to wipe the sweat from his brow.
His phone beeped, and he glanced at his messages. The girls were shopping in Wichita and asking about buying stuff for the house. He should have thought to send them with his credit card. He told them to buy whatever they wanted, and he’d reimburse them, including if they had furniture they wanted.
Stone looked back over at Jared. Locks had stopped.
Jared’s thighs were bright red from all the strikes of the switch.
Some of the strikes were hard enough to break the skin.
As far as Stone was concerned, this still wasn’t enough for everything Jared had done to Naomi, but it was what they were doing today.
Stone walked close as Locks and Cannon made Jared turn around and sit on the bed. Jared whined through his tears at the pain of sitting.
“Now, listen carefully. You don’t ever tell anyone this was us because if you do, I’ll be back, and so will a lot more of my friends.
If I have to come back because you’ve bothered Naomi or the girls or tried to get any of us in trouble, then understand that only one of us will be leaving this house alive.
Do you understand?” Stone lowered his voice to a deadly whisper.
Jared nodded.
“Are you going to keep your mouth shut?” Stone demanded.
“Yes, just please let me live,” Jared pleaded.
Stone nodded, “I will, for now. Don’t make me regret being lenient.”
At Jared’s nod, Stone made his way downstairs and out to the SUV with Locks and Cannon. Once Locks had them on the road out of town, Stone couldn’t keep quiet.
“Thank you for having my back,” Stone shared, looking between his brothers.
“It’s what brotherhood’s all about,” Cannon affirmed.
“You’re welcome. Thank you for letting me get a little payback for my niece. Now, we need to figure out something fitting for my brother,” Locks reminded them.
Stone didn’t want to have to think about that right now. He wanted to get home so when Naomi and the girls returned, he could wrap them in his arms and know they were safe and his.
