Chapter 10

Ten

Annette’s POV

It was finally the end of the first semester and it was time to head home with my brothers and their mates.

It was winter break, snow was falling all over campus, coating the world in white.

It was lovely, and I enjoyed being able to see the cold season, but I was ready for the warmer Fae territory and I couldn’t wait to finally see Papa!

I had missed him immensely even though we had been talking frequently while I was on campus.

I also had some fun news to tell him about.

He may have known about Burchard and I being a pair, but he doesn’t know everything.

I was ecstatic as we were waiting for the train.

I looked at my brothers, both of them looking cozy with their pairs, until they looked down and saw Burchard’s arm around me.

Neither was particularly impressed with him, though they both hated he was every bit as tall as them, but so much more muscular than them.

I just smiled, ignoring the glares I got from my brothers and the sympathetic looks I got from their pairs.

It was the first time I was bringing someone home, and I couldn’t wait to introduce him to the Royal Court.

For once though, I wasn’t worried about being the center of attention at the Winter Ball, because I already knew everyone would love him.

And if not? Well, they didn’t exactly have a choice in the matter. He was mine, and I was his.

Stepping off the train, I practically sprinted to Papa’s open arms. The guards formed a barrier around Papa, only allowing my brothers, myself, and our pairs into the circle.

When Papa released me, he looked up at Burchard.

Burchard gave a slight bow before straightening out.

My brothers came up to Papa, shaking his hands while their pairs curtseyed, with a slight bow of the head.

Burchard walked up behind me, our bag over his shoulder and handed me the gift bag. I handed it to Papa, who looked confused.

“Open it.” I smiled at him, trying to keep the tears from forming in my eyes as the familiar tingle in my nose started. He reached his giant hand in, pulling out a tiny outfit that said, ‘There was a little Fae on the way!’ with our thumbprints making a heart of the outfit.

Fathers jaw dropped and his eyes immediately filled with tears as he looked at me.

I nodded my head and he wrapped me in a hug.

Over his shoulders, I could see my brothers glaring at him, as chimed in with how this didn’t mean I was dropping out, and how I had to keep up with my grades.

I lightly laughed, feeling my heart soar in my chest and happy tears down my cheeks.

It seemed that night at the apothecary when Burchard became part human, he wasn’t the only thing that became part human. The doctor said that the baby was growing at a healthy rate and showing strong gargoyle and Fae traits, equally.

I looked up at Burchard, that stone cold, but hot as hell man of mine, with his hand on my still flat belly; his arm draped possessively across the back of the seats, pulling me as close to him as possible.

We were sitting in the back of the car on our way to the palace with Papa while my brothers and their mates rode in a separate SUV.

Since accepting the bond between us, and finding out about the pregnancy, he has become even more possessive and obsessive with me.

He didn’t let me go anywhere by myself. I also wasn’t allowed to carry any of my books to class.

He insisted on carrying those and my messenger bag stuffed with my laptop, notebooks, snacks, and water bottle.

He also monitored what my cravings were, stocking up on those items, as well as making sure I was drinking an adequate amount of water.

He got me flowers twice a week, helped me take a bath and gave me foot massages when I’d had a long day.

He listened to me talk as he brushed my hair before bed.

He would always pull me close, kissing me and promising to love only me for eternity.

He looked at me, with literal stars in his eyes, and I knew he hung the moon.

He also couldn’t keep his hands off of me.

We had been in trouble more than once by the Dean about our inappropriate behavior.

But I couldn’t help it. Especially not after he enrolled as a student.

This man was in all of my classes, focusing on class and me.

Quite a few of the other girls were deeply disappointed that he was already spoken for, and they really hated it once they realized he was all over the ‘quiet big girl’.

He couldn’t keep his hands off of me so badly, that he actually petitioned that we share a room since we had accepted our bond, and were expecting.

It was approved, post haste, once my father made, yet another, very large donation to the school. He had done the same for my brothers.

Once we shared a room though? I blushed the brightest shade of red just thinking of it.

Every night, every day, between classes, on the balcony, every inch of my room and parts of the shared room.

Burchard was…insatiable. And thinking of him, I felt the shiver go down my back because he always got me hot and bothered, which I knew he could feel through the bond.

I was pretty sure we weren’t going to fail our classes, but get kicked out from all of the… coitus we were having.

One night, he ordered our dinner and dessert be delivered to our room.

I had no idea that dinner could be so erotic.

Onion rings eaten off of him…I licked the edible cookie dough off his abs and brownie batter ice cream off his chest. He devoured me, licking the whipped cream and icing off the cake from the most delicious of places on my body. Over and over again, he ravished me.

Two weeks after he moved in, Bambi requested a room transfer, citing the noise and lack of privacy, as well as feeling uncomfortable while in shared spaces.

Overall, things in life couldn’t be better for us.

We were in love, fully mated, and working on getting our degrees as we became parents.

Our official mating ceremony was in a matter of weeks, where Burchard would be announced as Prince, and we would officially be announced as a couple to the Fae people.

What could go wrong?
