Epilogue

Ismiled as I tossed the last bits of Tori into the water. I loved feeding the swamp puppies. If only they could digest bones. Grinding an entire skeleton to dust was time-consuming, but I hadn’t found a better option.

I glanced at the time and gasped.

“See you later, alligators!” I called before rushing back to the house.

I’d lost track of time and had to hurry if I wanted to shower before I needed to leave to get my letter to the courier on time. And I had to wash off Tori’s bone dust and body bits before I went anywhere.

She’s innocent.

Pawns are gone.

Tori’s dead.

I’m done.

Forget me.
