Colin #4
Jake laughed as he yanked off his shirt before plopping down to pull off his own boots and socks.
I would have challenged anyone at that moment to keep their eyes at a respectful level.
He was a good-looking man; I was into good-looking men, and he was undressing in front of me.
Of course, I’d had practice in taking note of someone attractive without being obvious.
A few flicks of my eyes were all I needed to know he was in great shape, and despite freezing cold underwear, he had enough to look at; I wasn’t, however, going to do that.
I was still human and was going to look, but these were the guys I was going to work alongside.
I didn’t want to make things awkward or…
worse. It was enough to shove the thoughts aside as I stripped and joined him in the shower.
“Oh, thank God,” I groaned when the water was warm enough and I slipped under it. “I mean, I know the rain wasn’t helping, but goddamn it’s cold in this building.”
“Blame Xander,” Jake said with a laugh, shaking his head under the water like a dog. “He’s the one who says we can live without being babied. One of those things is apparently making sure there’s decent heating.”
I let my eyes glide over his body for a moment because I was still just as human as before, except he was wet and, uh…not reacting to the cold. “I don’t mind that much. Being uncomfortable is just…normal for me.”
“God, you almost sound happy about that,” he said with a laugh as he lathered up.
“More like resigned to my fate,” I said with a snort as I did the same.
I wasn’t worried about being dirty, but being under the hot spray after the storm was making me feel a lot better.
“I don’t really see the point in being pissed about it.
I reserve the right to bitch and moan when I have to deal with it head-on later, though. ”
Jake laughed as he tilted his head back, still rubbing his body with soap. “You’ll be in good company if that’s the case.”
“Good to know,” I said, carefully keeping my eyes anywhere safe despite his soaping up his crotch and ass.
The last couple of weeks had been busy, so I hadn’t been able to take the edge off my sex drive, and I was getting a fresh reminder of why it was a good idea to get that taken care of before it became a problem.
I’d been told once that my sex drive would peter off as I got close to my thirties, and at thirty-one I was still waiting.
Jake gave his head another dog-like shake before flipping off his shower. “Don’t take too long. It’d be just your luck that Xander will figure out you’ve been in here too long. Last thing you want is for him to hate you off the rip.”
I snorted. “Noted. I’m almost done.”
“Cool,” he said, strolling out, snatching his towel from the hook and throwing it over his shoulders rather than covering his bare ass. That alone was insanely distracting and wasn’t helped by the realization that I probably had a few minutes before someone came looking for me.
I strained my ears listening for the sound of the door being closed before I let out a breath of relief.
I was clearly not as in control as I would have wished for a first introduction to everyone, so the only solution was to take care of myself quickly.
At least then I wouldn’t feel like a walking bag of hormones, and it wasn’t like I knew the next opportunity I’d have for some privacy.
Considering I had been exposed to not one but two good-looking men, one of whom had been on full display, it didn’t take long to get hard as I stroked myself.
I debated whether I should think about what had started this entire problem in the first place or respectfully make sure my brain didn’t start associating my teammates with anything sexual.
That last point was enough to convince me to turn my attention to the memory of the last time I’d hooked up.
I had always been fond of older men, but that one had been the opposite.
I had spotted him while having drinks, recognizing the way he moved and spoke as someone who was serving.
It had taken only an hour of talking before we agreed to return to my apartment, and the debate over who was topping had been short-lived because I wasn’t nearly as particular as he had been.
I was remembering the feel of the rough stubble on his head when he went down on me when an extremely loud and irritated voice barked out, “What the fuck?”
My eyes snapped open, and I was dismayed to find that the whole goddamn outpost was apparently manned by the best-looking men.
Except this one made the other two look average.
He was big, not as bulky as Jake, but nothing to turn your nose up at either.
Under the harsh lights, I could see his eyes were a dark, earthy green, and they were narrowed into furious slits.
His hair had apparently once been a full shade of brown that made me think of cinnamon; now it was shot through with streaks of white, adding a little sugar to the mix.
Except the look on his face was anything but sweet.
“You must be Xander,” I said with a weak smile.
