LETTER
Dear Zarya,
I’m glad to hear of the rebellion’s progress, but I’m pleading with you to be careful. If this news gets out, all your lives will be forfeit. The Madans do not take kindly to being undermined. But I must know how such miracles have been accomplished. What kind of magic is this? I did some digging regarding your questions, but I have never heard of someone breaking the collar in all my years.
I’m planning to request access to the Royal Library’s restricted section to see if I can find out more for you. It’s something I should have done a long time ago, but Vikram remains displeased with me, and I don’t like my chances. I’ll also look for a book on paramadhar as you requested.
I spoke with Koura about your friend’s condition, and he didn’t have any answers to offer without seeing her in person. He promised to write to the healer you mentioned—they are acquaintances—to see if he can offer any guidance.
Amrita is healthy, and the baby is doing well. I’m including a sketch of the seed since you asked. It’s really quite beautiful, though my artwork certainly is not. I do wish you were here. I think she could use a friend.
Take care of yourself. Give my regards to Yasen.
