Chapter 6 #2
She sat with her legs spread over one each of their thighs, which touched between her knees.
She was in the middle of them, her arms over their shoulders, and the table was not enough to hide that one of them had a hand deep up her skirt.
The other turned her head to bring her in for a kiss, which she readily accepted.
What in the absolute fuck am I seeing? He couldn’t believe she was doing this, that he was witnessing this!
“Enough of that,” she demanded, pulling away. “I’m getting impatient, and if you boys can’t deliver, I’ll find someone else. I know you have coin. Now flip one to decide who goes where.”
Red tinted the edges of his darkening vision. His knuckles turned white as he clenched his hands into tight fists. He stormed forward and slammed both his hands flat against the table, loud enough to give both the men a fright.
Rosetta, being used to loud noises, merely turned her head to him slowly. Upon seeing him, he expected her to go white with fear at being caught. The bitch had the audacity to give him a bright smile!
“Well, hello!” she laughed out. “Fancy seeing you here.”
“What do you think you’re doing, Rosetta?” he barked loudly.
“Whoever you are, you’re going to have to wait your turn with her,” one of the men said, waving his hand dismissively. He had brown hair, was short-statured, and thin.
“Yeah. We haven’t seen her in months.” This one had cropped black hair, was thicker in build, and looked tall. He was also the one with his hand up her skirt. “Get lost before we make you.”
Something dark began brewing in his gut, his upper lip curling up on one side in anger. It strengthened when that hand went even deeper, to the point he knew the man must be cupping her at the apex of those toned legs Alister liked to nip, lick, and touch.
“Boys, be nice.” She smacked them on the back of their heads but didn’t lose her smile. “This is the pirate I was telling you about. The one who helped me get the Laughing Siren. Show him some respect.”
Then she patted one of the men on the head before doing the same to the other, saying, “This is Chip and Jimmy. Old buddies of mine.”
They suddenly turned to him with laughter, their sourness fading while Alister felt something nastier grow at their jolly attitudes.
“She wouldn’t shut up about getting that silly boat last time she was here. Thanks for helping her out,” Jimmy said, a genuine smile brightening his face. “Apparently, you made it easier for her.”
“What’s your name? I’d like to know of this great captain who helped Rosetta Silver get her ship. She wouldn’t tell us a peep about you.”
“Captain Alister Paine of the Howling Death,” he sneered, leaning forward to tower over them. “And she’s been sailing with me for four months since then.”
Silence fell between them all as they registered who he was.
“Really?” Chip said, his brows crinkling in concern. He turned that look to her, his hand slowly coming out from underneath her skirt. It didn’t stop him from kneading her thigh over her dress right in front of Alister. “Don’t you know he’s got a bounty on his head?”
“Yeah. He’s one of the biggest murderers Queen Mary Anne is after.”
Rosetta looked at him, suddenly giving him a frown with a confused shake of her head. Probably because he’d revealed their relationship when he’d explicitly told her not to.
Then she shrugged, twirling her index fingers over their shoulders, like she had a tune in her head. She looked unconcerned about the situation.
“Yep. We’ve been hightailing it all over the seas. Collecting loot and sinking ships. Ooooh!” She bounced with excitement, turning to one and then the other. “He’s got a big one. I might actually be able to fit both of you at the same time now. No need to toss a coin!”
Alister’s jaw dropped, his eyes going wide. It didn’t take a genius to realise that she meant taking both their dicks inside her pussy together.
He pulled his pistol from its holder and slammed it against the table. “Both of you leave before one of you finds a bullet between the eyes.”
Chip and Jimmy stared at his gun, their eyes widening in fear. They turned to each other with a cowardly expression he’d seen many times over in his life.
“Not worth it?”
“No way.”
They both scrambled to get away.
Alister kept his eye on Rosetta, who watched both men bolt from underneath her within the breath of a second, shock plastered on her face.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Rosetta yelled at him, her expression shifting to reflect her ire.
Good, he thought. Finally.
“I should be asking you the same thing!”
She leaned back and folded her arms across her chest. Then she placed one leg on top of the other, bouncing them while giving him a glare.
Looking at this woman, red lipstick smudged across her face from passionately kissing other men, he felt that simmering rage come to a boil.
“I was having fun,” she answered, in a tone that said it was supposed to be obvious. “What are you even doing here?”
“What are you doing with two other men?”
“I’m not your wife, Alister. You don’t get to make me feel like I’m being unfaithful when I’m not. I have no tie to you.”
He blinked at her words. It was true, she wasn’t his wife.
“Currently, you are my woman,” he sneered back.
“No, I’m not.” She laughed out the words in a mocking tone. “Lacey is currently your woman.”
“Who?” He scrunched his nose up as he reared his head back.
“You don’t even know the name of the prostitute who was sitting on your lap? She’s a lovely girl, but as dumb as they come.”
“I won’t change the way I do things in port because of you!”
Alister was used to having strange women sitting on him.
Half the time, he barely paid them any notice and didn’t even know they were there.
It was harder when they snuck up on him on his blind side.
He only gave them attention when he was bored and thinking of finding someone to bed at the end of the night.
Rosetta frowned deeply. She unfurled her arms, like her anger was lessening while his grew by the second.
“I’m not asking you to.”
“I don’t like jealous women, Rosetta.” Rather, he couldn’t stand them.
She gave him a bellowing laugh, one of those horrible ones he often found cute, which meant it was genuine.
“The only one who seems jealous here is you.”
“Nay, I’m not,” he bit out with spite. “Did you think it would skip my attention if you decided to do this in the same bar as me? If you wanted to be discreet, you would have gone somewhere else!”
She gave him a sigh, as if she thought this conversation was a waste of her time and energy. It made him grit his teeth harder, a muscle in his jaw popping.
“Do you see any of my crew here?” She gestured to their surroundings.
Alister looked around, wondering why that was so damn important.
“They’re busy and I can’t stay with them.
It’s not a place for me.” She leaned her elbow against the table, placing her cheek against her enclosed fist in boredom.
“I’m a woman in a town full of, as you put it earlier, degenerates.
If I found myself in a situation where I needed help, I knew there were people I could run to close by. ”
She looked away from him, nibbling at her bottom lip.
“I’m not an idiot, Alister. I wouldn’t leave myself alone in a place like this, and it’s common for me to stir up trouble.”
She’d placed herself nearby for protection? Shit, even he thought that was the best thing she could have done for herself.
“I didn’t wish to disturb you from having your fun, so I came here and hung out with Chip and Jimmy because I know them.” She turned her face to him to give him a grin. “They think I’m a sailing prostitute or something. It’s rather funny, and it’s so easy to make money that way.”
He clenched both his hands into fists and punched the table. “Rosetta, you better stop talking before I fucking lose it.”
She looked him over, at the snarled-up face he wore and the way he towered over her.
“I’m not asking you to change the way you do things,” she said, before waving her hand in the direction of his crew. “Go back to your men and Lacey. Enjoy yourself. I can see that in port, things change between us. You obviously want variety, like most men.”
“I was expecting to have you with me tonight as well!” Not her in someone else’s bed!
She gave a mocking snort. “I’m not the kind of woman to fight over a man. I’d rather not have to wait my turn for a dick.” She shook her head with a scoff. “You’ve only got one, whereas I’ve got three holes that can be filled. I’d rather have all the attention on me than fight for it.”
Once more, she looked off to the side, but this time with a small smile. She even twirled a strand of hair while giving a dreamy sigh.
“There’s something about taking a man at each end that just addles a woman’s mind. It’s like a button that just turns our brains to goo.”
A chilling coldness rushed over him. Alister realised she was serious. She didn’t see anything wrong with this; she didn’t care. She thought he was the one being ridiculous.
She doesn’t care if I sleep with other women. He should take this for the free pass it was, do whatever he wanted without a shred of remorse. He wouldn’t have to worry about how she felt, not that she had seen anything wrong in the first place.
She told me she understood I would have port girls and prostitutes. So why didn’t he like her acting the same way as him?
He eyed her, realisation hitting him heavily. She really would have done it. And she probably wouldn’t have known Alister would have tossed her aside for it, either.
I don’t share my women. He expected his rare port girls, those who weren’t cheap whores, to keep their legs closed except to him when he was in town, just like he expected from Rosetta.
He leaned back, creating space between them.
She really would have slept with them. It would have been his own damn fault, and he would have been furious about it.
