Chapter 16

The walk home is quiet, Khazak’s form moving stiffly in front of me.

He’s walking fast though, enough for me to have to jog to keep up with him.

He is really not happy right now. I think about running off, or maybe just walking slower to buy some time for him to cool off, but I don’t think that’ll do me any favors.

He opens the front door without a word, stomping inside without even holding it for me. I lock it behind me, and when I turn back, he’s already walking toward the bedroom. He hasn’t looked at me since Murbank’s backyard.

“I’m sorry!” My shouted apology stops him before he goes down the hall. “I know I fucked up. I just thought I—”

“You were not thinking at all!” He finally turns to face me.

“If you were, you would not have done something so unbelievably stupid! Why would you possibly... I specifically warned you that Ragnar would do something irrational like this, and you not only assisted him, you provided the means to do it! Unprompted! This is so...” He stops, squeezing his fists together and gritting his teeth before taking a breath.

“I do not want to talk about this right now.”

He turns and continues walking down the hallway, and I follow. He moves into the bedroom, and from the doorway, I watch as he undresses.

“Don’t you... Aren’t you going to punish me?” I’m not exactly asking for it but, well… being punished means being forgiven. But I guess that would be too easy. I just...really don’t like that he’s so angry with me.

“Not tonight.” He shakes his head. “I am tired and still far too angry. We can talk about it in the morning.”

“Oh, okay.” I bite my lip, unsure if I should enter the room or not. I remember the last time he was really angry with me. “Should I... Do you want me to sleep in the other room?”

“Not unless that is what you would prefer.” He offers me a small smile. I don’t think he’s lying.

“No, not if you don’t.” I finally step into the room and start to undress myself.

Getting ready for bed isn’t any less awkward though, no real talking between us.

We both just silently go through the motions before climbing onto the mattress.

I’m surprised when I feel his arm wrap around me and pull me back into him, but maybe he just sleeps better with someone else. That’s a thing, right?

I wake up from a dreamless sleep early the next morning, alone in bed. This is the first time I’ve woken up alone in over a month. It feels weird. I can’t blame Khazak for not feeling much like cuddling once he was awake.

I’m not sure if we have to work today. If we were still on patrol in the woods, we’d be working through the weekend, but since we switched the rest of our shift, I don’t know what that means. It’s visiting day at the labor camp, so I hope I can at least do that. Assuming he’ll let me go.

I know I should get up and go see what’s going on.

It just feels like I’m walking into a lion’s den.

After pulling on some pants (having a serious conversation in a thong is not how I wanna start the day), I carefully open the door and peer my head out.

It’s quiet, but when I walk farther down the hall, I see a familiar green body sitting on the couch reading, a mug of coffee on the small table next to him.

“You are awake.” He looks up from his book at my entrance. “How did you sleep?”

“Alright, I guess.” I shuffle awkwardly on my feet. “What about you?”

“Fine, though when I woke up early, I was unable to return to sleep.” Which is why he’s up already. He pats the spot on the couch next to him. “Sit. We need to talk.”

“I’m really sorry,” I blurt out as I take my seat.

“I do not doubt it, but being sorry does little to fix the mess you and Ragnar have made.” He sighs, putting down his book.

“David, what you did yesterday was reckless. I would like to say I am surprised, but after the attempted jailbreak of your friends, I should have seen this coming. You made another impulsive decision without planning or forethought. You broke into Murbank’s home without any idea of what you should be looking for, and regardless of the fact that you found something, it does not matter now because you were caught!

All of that potential evidence is gone.”

“I know! I know.” I hang my head low. “I was worried after we talked to him that he was going to do that anyway, and I just couldn’t stand the thought of him getting away with what he’s been doing any longer.”

“It may not matter now.” He shakes his head unhappily.

“Councilman Murbank is someone who can make things very difficult for us. Not even the investigation. I am now worried about my job. If we are right and he is somehow seeking to be reelected to the Tribal Council, I cannot imagine I will be captain for much longer.”

“I know. I’m sorry.” This is the second time I’ve put Khazak’s career in jeopardy. “After learning about what happened with Ny’s mom, and seeing how it was getting to him and Ragnar... I’m just so sorry.”

“I am dreading returning to the station on Lunaday. Assuming a demand for my resignation is not sitting on my desk as we speak.” He sounds dejected.

“What can I... Do you want to punish me now?” I just want to make him feel better.

“Yes, and no,” he flip-flops. “You certainly deserve it, seeing as you had no problem disobeying me destroying all of the trust we spent the last month and a half building in a single night.” His words make me wince.

“However, punishing you will not resolve the situation. There is also the matter of…”

“What?” He’s hesitating about something.

“Since we made our ‘deal’ for you to stay here, your infractions and my punishments have been more on the play side of things—”

“Except that time after I met your family,” I helpfully point out.

“You provoked me into doing that,” he responds flatly, crossing his arms. He’s right. I did. “My point is, perhaps it would be better to—”

“What, you don’t think I can take it?” I cut him off.

“It is not a contest, David,” he answers with a sigh. “You are leaving in two weeks. I just think you would rather not spend those experiencing any more discomfort than necessary.”

“That’s not the deal we made.” I puff out my chest. “I’m a man of my word, Sir. I know you said that it won’t fix anything, but…would it help you feel any better?” I leave out that there’s a good chance it will also make me feel a little better.

“It might be a start... Are you certain, pup?” He’s really trying to give me an out here.

“I am, Sir.” I nod.

He studies me for a moment. “Alright, then we can get started with the first part before you visit your friends this morning.”

“First part?” There’s going to be multiple?!

“Come with me, please.” He stands, crooking two fingers at me as he walks down the hall. I follow him into the bedroom, seeing him rummage through one of his chests.

“Aha, found it!” He stands, holding something shiny and metallic in his hand. “Strip and lay on your back on the bed with your feet hanging over the edge.”

On my back? I remove my pants and underwear before following the unexpected order.

“Now I take it you have never seen one of these before, correct?” He steps between my spread legs, holding out whatever is in his hand for me to get a closer look at.

“What is it?” It’s definitely metal. It looks like a couple of rings attached to a cylinder. A cylinder that looks a lot like a dick, complete with a head.

“A chastity cage.” So, it is shaped like a dick... Wait, chastity cage?!

“And what are you going to do with it?” I eye the contraption warily now that I know what it’s for. I’ve heard of a chastity belt before, but mostly as a joke, like what dads say they’d put on their daughters. Which is pretty creepy when you think about it.

“I think you are smart enough to figure that out.” With a smirk, I watch him turn a very small key at the top of the cage, allowing him to separate the shaft from the bottom ring. “Of course, you had to pick yesterday to pull your stunt.”

“What was yesterday?” I don’t remember there being anything special other than the fancy event.

“It is more about what today is.” He sets the shaft of the cage to the side. “It is the 13th of Geminus. Happy birthday, David.”

My eyes go wide. It’s my birthday? I haven’t exactly been keeping track of a calendar beyond the day of the week.

I guess I knew it was going to happen while I was here.

I just didn’t think about it. I open my mouth to ask about getting some sort of birthday reprieve from this, but close it when I think about how that would defeat everything else I just said.

“Thank you,” I tell him when I realize I haven’t said anything for a minute.

“That is all?” He’s teasing, but he still sounds surprised at my lack of fight.

“I’m ready for the first part of my punishment, Sir,” I reply with a stoic nod.

“Very well.” He smiles, and he kneels down, taking a hold of my balls in his left hand while he holds one of the metal rings in his right. “You are twenty-two today, correct?”

“Yes, Sir.” This is a weird conversation to have while I’m getting my junk locked in a cage. I inhale sharply when the cold metal touches my skin.

“I had something special planned for you tonight.” He slips the ring around both of my balls first.

“You did?” I try and fail to not sound disappointed.

“Do not worry. It is still happening. You will just be in chastity for the duration.” He pushes my shaft down, squeezing it through the ring as well. “I see no reason to punish anyone else for your infraction. Except perhaps Ragnar.”

He grumbles that last bit, and I am left wondering if their friendship is in danger.

Then I get distracted by the feeling of cold metal encasing my dick as the rest of the cage is slipped on.

Any growing I was doing because of the handling is gone, which is a good thing because next Khazak connects the shaft to the base ring before pulling out the small key again and locking them together.
