I didn’t like waking up in her bed alone again. The first thought that hit me was that she regretted what happened. I had to remind myself that this was Lydia—she was decisive and knew what she wanted. I couldn’t imagine her regretting anything she did.
The apartment was quiet except for a soft shuffling sound, which I followed.
She was moving, swaying her hips side to side and in circles in a way that made my entire body heat up.
Her head rolled back and around, and her eyes were closed.
Her hands moved up slowly, intertwining in the air above her head, and she bent one knee to move her hip.
I saw her phone on the couch and grabbed the earbud.
‘Skunk Anansi - Weak’ was playing.
Lydia, you’re killing me.
I put the earbud in and watched her moves flow with the music.

The song ended, and ‘Freak on a Leash’ by Korn started playing.
Her movements changed instantly, no longer sensual, and slowly getting faster. She barely moved her hips. Instead, her chest and shoulders jerked and her head rocked side to side.
As the song got louder, her movements became more frantic. There was a breakdown, the singer shouted GO, and she moved faster, jumping and doing something with her head that was somewhere between a shake and a headbang.
The next song that started was like a shock to the system. From loud and fast to slow. I looked at her screen.

She had her back to me and was swaying to the chorus, her hips moving sensually and slowly to the rhythm of the singer’s words.

I couldn’t take it anymore and walked up behind her, putting my arms around her and pulling her to my chest. I expected her to startle, but she kept moving like I wasn’t even there.
