I ’m at the end of my rope with Mayson. I knew I would only be able to handle so much of her around before I would need more.
It was the same when we were younger. At that point I was still in denial, and knew I would be leaving for college soon.
That I could keep some distance, and not completely lose my mind.
Now it’s different.
Now we’re adults. There are no parents around and I feel her presence surrounding me constantly.
It’s only gotten worse the more I’ve allowed myself to touch her. I see how she looks at me, though her mouth says one thing her eyes say another. I know she’s close to breaking. She wants more and I want to give it to her.
But of course we have an away game not long after I got to see Mayson come while she watched me. We haven’t seen each other between classes, practice, and now me being away. When I come back everything is going to change.
“Masters,” O’Neil calls out while we’re on the bus headed to Portland for our game. “What’s the plan for Halloween?”
“I don’t know. I don’t give a fuck about your trick or treating plans,” I scoff, not even looking up from my phone. I’m too busy checking to make sure Mayson is where she’s supposed to be and not at some random house doing something she shouldn’t.
Especially since she supposedly has done more with someone that I don’t know about.
And it’s the not knowing that kills me. I don’t know what she’s done and with who.
It couldn’t have been in high school because none of the guys there would dare to have touched her.
Not after the threats I made sure reached everyone with a dick.
It also couldn’t be here at Northgate because I’ve done the same, while also keeping an eye on her. So who the fuck could it be?
“I’m not talking about trick or treating you dick,” O’Neil snaps. I took up at him with the threat clear in my eyes. “You having people over?”
“If I am, then you’re not invited,” I tell him nonchalantly.
“Yeah, okay,” he replies sarcastically. I silently tell him to challenge me on that. I’m irritated enough not being home terrorizing my stepsister and he’s about to send me over the edge.
Speaking of terrorizing Mayson, I pull up a text because if I’m not going to be able to do anything in person for the next two days I will find another way to drive her crazy.
Colin
What’re you wearing?
Mayson
Why’re you so obsessed with my clothes?
Colin
Because I can be.
Mayson
Well, don’t worry. I’m only wearing Colin regulated attire since you still haven’t given me everything back.
Colin
And you’ve hardly done anything to earn it back.
You also better not be adding anymore hair remover to my soaps.
Mayson
You left everything unattended, it’s not my problem if something were to accidently get into it.
Colin
I’ve been going easy on you, and it’s like you don’t want me to.
Mayson
Do your worst, I can take it.
Colin
I plan to.
Mayson
So do I.
I smirk, knowing she will. At this point I’ll happily take any silly pranks she wants to play on me. Especially because I have the ultimate one planned on Halloween. She’s going to hate it, but it’s going to be everything I’ve ever wanted. And I can’t wait.
There’s one way to get me pissed off beyond belief and that’s for us to lose a game. Especially one that should’ve been an easy win. Portland hasn’t won a game all season, and of course the first one they do is against us.
If my team would get me the ball like they’re supposed to then I could score like I always do. But of course everyone wants to be the star apparently. Even though that’s not their position, and I’m too good to be replaced.
If Mads could stop a fucking ball every once in awhile that would be great.
I wish we would just get back on the road after finishing the game instead of staying the night in a hotel tonight.
The last thing I want is to be around any of these idiots.
I’d much rather be back home and burying myself inside Mayson.
I don’t care that she’s a virgin, and I don’t want to be gentle.
I want to show her what she gets from me and give it to her from the start.
She’ll take it all, and want more, I’m sure of it.
I pull up her location on my phone again and see she’s at home, which fills me full of pride, but she may not be alone. Without thinking about it I FaceTime her, glaring at the screen with each ring that pierces the air around me while I’m alone for now.
Mayson answers with her face scrunched up in annoyance, her dark hair piled on top of her head in one of those messy buns I want to mess up even more. Her bare shoulder is showing from where her shirt is hanging off her frame.
“What do you want?” she snaps, and I notice she’s sitting at her desk so I must have interrupted her studying.
“I can’t check in on you?”
“Uh no, you can’t.” She grimaces.
“You answered.”
“I thought maybe you were dying, but since you’re still alive and well, I’m hanging up.”
“You’d care if I was hurt or dead then? Aw, you do love me. ”
“No,” she deadpans.
“You’re counting down the minutes until I get back home, don’t deny it.”
“I’m hanging up now.” She ends the call and I bark out a laugh.
I drop my phone down next to me, excited to see what I’m going to come home to tomorrow. If she wasn’t already planning something I’m sure she is now.
