Epilogue

MIREILLE

Nine months later

I stare down at the beautiful boy in my arms, the wedding band on my finger nestled beneath the gorgeous engagement ring that Evander gave me nine months ago glistens against my finger. That night was eventful in so many ways.

Our son lies in my arms, happy and content. I'm exhausted having been in labor for twelve hours, but I'm beyond happy and in love.

Evander sits on the edge of the hospital bed, his eyes filled with wonder as he gazes at our newborn son. "He's perfect," he whispers, gently stroking the baby's cheek with his finger.

I smile up at my husband, feeling a surge of love for both him and our child. "He is. Just like his daddy."

Evander chuckles softly, leaning in to press a tender kiss to my forehead. "I think he takes after his beautiful mother."

As if on cue, the baby opens his eyes, revealing a startling blue that matches Evander's exactly.

"Well, he definitely has your eyes," I say with a grin.

Evander's face lights up with pride. "Poor kid," he jokes. "Let's hope that's all he inherits from me. Your charm would serve him much better."

I roll my eyes playfully. "Oh please, you're plenty charming when you want to be. How else did you manage to win me over?"

"Sheer dumb luck," Evander replies with a wink.

We share a quiet laugh, both of us still in awe of the tiny life we've created together. It's hard to believe how much has changed in just over a year. From boss and assistant to husband and wife, and now parents.

"What should we name him?" I ask softly, running my finger along our son's tiny hand.

Evander considers for a moment. "What about Ethan?"

I smile, looking down at our little boy. "Ethan Prescott. I like it."

"Ethan it is then," Evander agrees, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on the baby's forehead.

As I watch my husband with our son, I'm filled with an overwhelming sense of contentment. This is everything I never knew I wanted, and now I can't imagine my life any other way.

"I love you," I tell Evander softly. "Both of you."

Evander meets my eyes, his gaze full of emotion. "And I love you, Mireille Prescott. More than I ever thought possible."

He leans in, capturing my lips in a tender kiss. As we break apart, both of us smiling, I know that this is just the beginning of our happily ever after.
