Chapter 2 #5

Henry silenced me by lowering his face to mine and pressing his lips to my mouth.

I struggled as much as I could, but I couldn’t move him even an inch.

Once again, I surrendered. I couldn’t control my treacherous body that responded instantly with a rise in temperature and a complete shudder.

I let his tongue invade my mouth in such an exciting way that, unable to contain it, I moaned with pleasure.

My heart began to pound against the walls of my chest and my hands trembled with the desire to caress his body.

Yes, I surrendered and raised my arms, wrapping them around his neck to return that kiss that, although I knew it was wrong, I desperately wanted.

Since he had kissed me, I had wanted to feel his lips on mine again, I longed for that pleasurable contact to which I was becoming addicted.

Henry savored my mouth with delight and such possessiveness that it was overwhelming.

Our tongues danced to a frantic rhythm; we didn’t want to leave even an inch unexplored.

Without stopping kissing me, his hands began to caress my legs and slowly moved upward.

The moment his hand tried to slip under my underwear, whatever was clouding my reason dissipated, and I broke the kiss and pushed his hand away.

“My God, you are so beautiful! Stay. Let’s finish this, we both want it,” he said, panting and whispering against my neck.

“Let me go,” I said, but I wasn’t convinced of what I was saying; this man made me feel things I had never felt before.

I was hesitating whether to get up or continue kissing those sensual lips and feeling that muscular body on top of mine, but his words took away all the passion that had awakened in my body and froze me, replacing the burning with deadly fury.

“If you sleep with all those men, why can’t you sleep with me?”

“Whaaaat?” I said, looking at him in astonishment.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. When we had seen each other the previous time, he had implied something similar, but now that I heard him say it literally, not only had I been invaded by immense fury but also by an anguish that tightened my chest. This man had the idea that I was a whore.

If only he knew I’ve never had sex, I thought.

“Get off me or I’ll start screaming!” I exclaimed loudly, while moving frantically to escape his entrapment.

Henry got up and looked at me in amazement.

His excitement was evident and protruded above his underwear.

When he noticed, he looked for his pants, which were on a chair, and put them on quickly.

While he was doing that, I adjusted the comforter over my body and hurriedly left the room.

When I reached Niky’s bedroom, I opened the door and went in without knocking or announcing myself.

“Niky, wake up. Niky, please wake up,” I said, while moving her a little to wake her and turning on the lamp that was on her nightstand.

My friend sat up in bed and looked at me strangely.

“What’s happening, Dali? Is something wrong?”

“What’s happening is that your brother got into the bedroom without knowing I was there and he’s furious.”

“My brother is here?”

“Don’t worry, I’m leaving and we’ll see each other another day. Can you get my things that are still in his room? I don’t want to go back in there.”

“I can’t believe this! My brother is going to hear from me,” she exclaimed.

At that moment someone knocked on the door and, without being invited in, Henry entered the room. He had also put on a t-shirt and was fully dressed, except for his feet which were bare.

“Who told you that you could come in?” Niky shouted.

“Can someone tell me what she was doing sleeping in my bed?” he asked, pointing at me.

“And can someone tell me what you’re doing here at this hour when you supposedly don’t live in this house anymore and have your own place?”

“You’re so ungrateful! I came to keep you company and see how you were doing.”

“In the middle of the night? And scaring away my friends!”

Niky had gotten up and was facing her brother eye to eye. They were both challenging each other with their gazes, and I didn’t know where to hide.

“Since when do you have these kinds of friends?”

“And since when do you care who my friends are?”

“Niky, you can’t be friends with this girl,” he stated, pointing at me.

Never in my life had I felt so out of place and so embarrassed. These siblings were arguing about me and I didn’t know what to do.

“Why are you saying that? Do you know each other?” Niky asked, looking at me and then at her brother.

“May I speak?” I asked; it was time to clarify things.

“I’m talking to my sister.”

“Shut up!” Niky shouted, looking at her brother furiously. “What’s going on, Dali?”

“Dali?” Henry questioned.

“I told you to shut up!” Niky repeated.

“Although we haven’t been formally introduced, your brother and I have crossed paths several times and, I don’t know why, but he thinks I’m a whore.”

“What?!” Niky exclaimed, her face distorted with surprise.

“The first time we talked I was at my hotel and...”

“Your hotel?” he asked, looking at me with eyes like saucers.

“She’s the owner of the HAY Hotel, you idiot!” Niky affirmed.

“Why didn’t you tell me it was your hotel?” he asked.

“And why should I have told you if I didn’t know you?”

“Keep telling me,” Niky said.

“I’d rather tell you another time and in private,” I said, looking at her, then I looked at him and added: “You know what, I don’t have to explain anything to you. Niky, I appreciate your invitation, but I prefer to leave.”

“You're not leaving until you explain several things to me,” Henry said.

“What do you have to explain to him?” Sol asked, entering the room with a sleepy face, but as soon as she saw Henry, her expression changed completely and she froze.

“And who is this?” Henry asked, looking at her.

“Another one of my friends, and her name is Sol,” Niky said.

“What is he doing here?” Sol asked, still staring at him with excessive surprise, which caught my attention a bit.

“This is my nosy brother,” Niky said, and Henry shot her a fierce look.

“Everyone out because I need to talk to her,” he said, pointing at me.

“I have nothing to talk about with you. Niky, I’m leaving.”

“What’s going on? Why does he need to talk to you?” Sol asked.

At this point, the argument seemed like a conversation between crazy people. Everyone was talking, everyone was asking questions, and everyone was giving orders. I just wanted to leave.

“Enough!” Henry shouted, and a deathly silence fell. “Niky, allow me to speak with your friend Dalina, I need to clarify some things. Please, leave and give us a few minutes.”

Niky looked at me and I nodded. It was better to end this conversation as soon as possible. Niky took Sol by the arm, although the latter looked at me with suspicion, and they left the bedroom, closing the door behind them and leaving me alone with that arrogant slanderer.

“Now, explain to me why you didn’t tell me you were in your hotel.”

“I don’t give information about my life to strangers.”

“Very well, you’re right. But I need to clarify some things. Who was the guy who was with you the day we met at the restaurant?”

“Why should I tell you?”

“It’s not your duty, but I’m asking you please to help me understand some things.”

“One of my brothers, the middle one to be precise,” I answered.

Henry sighed as if exhausted and ran a hand through his hair as if he were going crazy.

“And the one who was with you at the pub?”

“My other brother, in that case the oldest.”

“My God! Why didn’t you clarify things when I said all those absurdities?”

“I wasn’t interested in clarifying things for you. As far as I’m concerned, you can think whatever you want, and it’s evident that you always tend to think the worst and judge people however you please.”

“I apologize, my behavior toward you was completely inappropriate,” he said, shaking his head.

“I’m not resentful, I can forgive you, but don’t come near me again,” I warned, and walked past him to get out of there as soon as possible because after all that, I felt tears stinging my eyes.

Henry grabbed my arm and tried to get closer, but I pulled my arm free from his grip and looked at him seriously.

“I told you not to come near me, that includes not touching me.”

“Please, Dalina, forgive me. What do I have to do to…”

“The only thing you have to do is stay away from me. I’ve had enough of you. Goodbye.”

“Can you accept my apology?” he insisted.

“I already told you I’m not resentful,” I repeated, and opened the door and left to find my friends who were waiting for us, very attentively.

“Niky, I’m leaving,” I stated.

“Nobody leaves this house at this hour,” said Henry, who was standing behind me.

“My brother is right, it’s the middle of the night. I assume everything is cleared up between you two, so let’s go back to sleep and enjoy this weekend as we had planned. Henry is leaving early tomorrow, right?” she said, looking at him threateningly.

“Yes,” he said, but I never turned to look at him. “Dalina, stay in the room you were using because I’ll sleep in my mother’s room.”

“It’s not necessary, I can sleep with Sol or Niky.”

“Stay there, you already have your things in that room. Henry will sleep in mom’s room and won’t move from there until he leaves, right?”

“Of course,” he replied.

“Perfect. Everyone go to sleep,” Niky said, and opened her bedroom door and before closing it, she winked at me.

“Good night,” Henry said, looking at Sol and me, and headed toward the room next to mine that was supposedly his mother’s.

“Do you want me to go with you?” Sol asked.

“It’s not necessary, thanks, Sol. Now that everything is cleared up, I hope I never have to speak to him again. That guy is an unbearable snob who drives me crazy.”

“I won’t argue with that, but let’s agree he’s a hottie.”

“A bitter-filled chocolate,” I remarked.

Sol looked at me but didn’t say anything.

“What’s wrong?”
