Chapter Nine

Evander

The omega arrived shortly after I sent for him.

He wore the all-black outfit we’d picked out together and looked a little stunned.

His gaze cast around the room, seeking me out.

Or maybe just absorbing the lack of kink.

I’d told him we just cooked in here, but after his first walk through the club with all the shenanigans going on, he would have questions.

“There you are.” I raised a hand so Hudson could find me and started toward him. Reaching his side, I pressed a kiss to his cheek. “So glad you came. I hope I didn’t pull you away from anything fun.” A lie. If this omega was going to be having any “fun” at Crowned, it should be with me.

“No.” He brushed my cheek with his lips in return. “Not fun precisely. More like, umm…interesting.”

I couldn’t suppress a grin. Because he hadn’t run screaming as well as the fact he hadn’t played with anyone else.

That didn’t mean he wouldn’t have, given time.

A little early to be congratulating myself.

“It is that. I thought I’d check and see whether you wanted to continue on out on the main floor or if you might like to hang out here in the kitchen.

I’m busy, but I like looking at your face. ”

A face that reddened at my words. “If I won’t be too much underfoot, I’ll stay here. Maybe I can sit in a corner somewhere and then one night, when you’re free, we can explore the rest?”

“Perfect.” I took his hand and led him over to my desk. “You can just sit right here, and I’ll have someone bring you whatever you’d like to drink from the bar.”

“It’s not too much trouble?” He had no idea what I’d do for my mate. Having a server bring a drink? Small potatoes. “Maybe a Coke?”

“All right.” I sent a message to the bar and got the omega settled in my office chair. My wolf and I liked seeing him there. “And I have something else for you, if you don’t mind lending a hand?”

“Anything.” He started to rise, but I waved him back down. “You can do it from there.”

“I’m intrigued.” He rested his folded hands on the empty desktop. “Bring it on. But I warn you that the last time I tried to chop vegetables, I got three stitches in my finger.” He held up his right hand, revealing a thin line across the pad of his forefinger.

I wanted to kiss it better, but I just said, “Ouch, I bet that hurt.”

He nodded. “A little, and I just need to be more careful, but I think I’d be too nervous here.”

“Don’t worry. I’m not going to have you do anything like that. Jenna, can you bring the tasting plate this way?”

“Sure thing, boss.” A blonde omega wearing chef’s blacks came over with a tray. “Is this our taste tester?”

“It is indeed. Jenna, one of our finest chefs. Jenna, this is Hudson, who is here to test the crepe offerings we are considering for a new menu item.”

They exchanged greetings, and Jenna set her tray down and returned to the other side of the kitchen. “So, what is all this?”

“We’ve had requests for more sweet offerings, but I didn’t want to do something too sweet. So we made a few variations on a crepe theme.” I explained each of the choices to him then pulled a pad of paper and pen from a drawer. “If you could please note your thoughts on each?”

I left him to do that and went about my work.

Every so often, I would stop by and make sure he was okay and not too bored.

Finally, the evening wound down, food service ended, and all that remained was the dishwashing and cleaning staff.

Time to go home. Over at the desk, Jenna was chatting with Hudson.

He was showing her his notes and she was nodding and smiling.

When I arrived next to them, they both looked up at me.

“This omega has great taste, Chef.” Indicating the buckwheat, she flashed me a grin. “Something tells me you do, too.” She bid us both goodbye. “I’d better get home before my babysitter goes on overtime.”

After she left, Hudson stood up. “I’d better go, too. Need to order a rideshare.”

“I’ll drive you. It’s the least I can do after being too busy to hang out with you. Maybe we can try another night when I’m free to show you how things really work around here.” I started for the door. “Let’s go up front and get your phone.”

“I saw how they work.”

“What?”

“How things work here. In the kitchen. Your control. How calm you keep everyone while inspiring them to do their best. Compliments, not complaints.” He inhaled a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Would you mind giving me a ride to your house? That is…if you want to.”

This came so far out of left field, I almost didn’t respond.

As I worked, I’d been planning a courtship, a playtime in the club, nothing too heavy.

A few more dates, maybe then invite him to my house for dinner, but I had to know if he meant what I thought he did.

“I’d be glad to. Do you want to come for coffee or… ”

He rose on tiptoe and brushed his lips across mine. “I thought maybe a sleepover.”

I lived close by, luckily, because if I didn’t, we’d have ended up pulled over on the side of the road.

And my car didn’t have a back seat, so not particularly comfortable for fooling around.

Parking in the underground garage, I came around and assisted Hudson out and brought him against my body.

His arms came around my neck, his face tipped up, and I kissed him.

Gently at first, seeking his heat, then deeper until we finally had to break apart for a breath.

“You’re sure you want to sleep over?” I caressed his cheek with my knuckles. “No pressure, omega. We have all the time in the world.”

“Except I don’t want to wait. Not another minute. Unless you do.”

No. I did not. Grabbing his hand, I led him through the kitchen door, stopping to grab a couple of bottles of chilled sparkling water, and then on to my bedroom.

If he changed his mind at any time, I’d stop.

“Hudson, I want you. But if you haven’t learned the club rules about safe words, they count here, too.

If at any point you realize I’m not what you want or you’re not ready for us here? ”

“Yellow for pause, red for stop?” He winked. “Green for go.”

And with that, the time for negotiating was over.

Probably it never even needed to happen, but we’d taken such a quick turn in this direction.

From that point, clothes were flying. They landed wherever they did, and I wasn’t about to take the time to pick them up.

Not when Hudson looked so incredible, standing there in the light of the bedside lamp.

I eased him down onto the mattress and followed him there, our lips meeting as hands began to explore.

I was already hard as steel, as was Hudson, but my questing fingers determined he was slick and ready for me.

“Omega, we have all night, but I can’t wait for you. ”

“Please don’t wait.” He tugged on my arms, bringing his knees up and exposing his needy, slick hole. “I have to have you.”

I didn’t try to resist him. I buried my cock in his body, the slick taking me balls deep where I held still until he rocked his hips and whimpered.

Then I began to drive in and out, faster and faster, urged on by his clutching hands and cries.

I tried to hold on, wanting him to come too, and I freed one of his hands to close it around his own cock. “I’ll come after you.”

He gasped and went to work, his fingers flexing, until, only moments later, he groaned and sprayed cum over both our bellies. Leaving me free to pour my own cum into him. I wanted to mark him, but I didn’t. Not until he asked me to.

Please let him ask me to. But he didn’t. And, for tonight, it would have to be enough.
