Chapter Eleven #2

“Okay, cool.” He let Wylder help him up before running off with Aurelia in his arms. “Would you like to wear your new blue dress?”

Aurelia clapped. “Pretty dress.”

“You will be so pretty,” Theo told her. “And we’ll find a little bowtie for Bo that matches his new hat.”

Theo loved his little family and couldn’t wait until it grew with more members.

As things settled down, Theo didn’t feel so overwhelmed.

Dario had sat Theo down and helped him make a schedule for everything that Theo wanted to work on for the month.

Having a list with times and goals really did settle him.

Entering his room, Theo placed Aurelia on the bed before going to the little wooden box on top of his dresser.

He opened the lid to find Aurelia’s blue dress at the top.

The little brownie had been wanting to wear the new dress that Dario had found for her.

It was meant for a doll but would fit Theo’s little creature perfectly.

In the box beside Aurelia’s was the one where Bo’s hats and bowties were held. That was all Wylder’s doing as he loved to spoil Bo and make him happy.

He set a matching hat and bowtie aside for Bo for when Theo collected him from the garden. There were now two bridges in the garden with a third started. Bo did love his bridges. The birds seemed to like them too as Bo was making friends with the crows that they left seed for.

Now, what should he wear?

Theo raced out of his room to the master suite. He was relieved to find Alek pulling on a button-down shirt. “Hey!” Theo said, jumping onto the bed.

“Did practice go well?” Alek asked as he started on the buttons.

Theo shrugged. “I’m getting better.”

“It just takes time and practice,” Alek told him.

“I know.” Theo climbed to his knees. “Will you pick me out something to wear.”

Alek finished with the last button. “You don’t have to dress fancy.”

“I want to wear something nice.” Theo waved at the clothes that Alek wore. “Like you.”

Alek walked over to the bed and leaned down to kiss him. “I would be happy to help you.”

Theo chased Alek’s lips when his mate pulled away.

He would much rather have kissed than he stuck in a suit all night.

Since that wasn’t going to happen Alek was the best mate to get help dressing with.

He had a closet full of new clothes for his mate to choose from for him.

Most of the time Theo just grabbed the jeans that were closest to him and a T-shirt.

When he wanted a hoodie, Theo snuck into Wylder’s room and grabbed one of his.

They were just softer than Theo’s! Well, that was his story and he was sticking to it.

“I think something that will bring out your gorgeous eyes and red hair,” Alek stated.

“Okay.” Theo truly didn’t care. He just wanted to look nice and not embarrass himself or his mates.

Alek strolled back to the closet and disappeared inside.

Theo pulled off his shorts, then removed his jeans, waiting in just his underwear for Alek to come back.

He was so relieved when Alek stepped back into view not holding a suit. Instead, Alek brought over a soft emerald turtleneck and a pair of black slacks with a pair of black leather boots. It looked warm and comfortable. Perfect. Theo grinned at his mate.

“I think you will look beautiful in this but also be comfortable.” Alek placed everything on the bed beside him.

Theo scrambled off the bed and kissed his mate. “Thanks.”

Alek hummed and kissed him back, reaching down to cup Theo’s ass, lifting him off his feet.

Wrapping his legs around Alek’s waist, Theo rubbed his cock over Alek’s hard stomach. And didn’t that feel nice.

Peppering kisses down his neck and chin, Alek was turning Theo on, which wasn’t nice since Theo was pretty sure that he didn’t have time to take his vampire to bed.

Kissing Alek was like the best dessert ever. It was like ice cream, cake, and cupcakes, and all of Theo’s favorite treats. Drugging. So hot. Alek kissed him like it was the last thing that they would ever do. All-consuming, making Theo’s dick ache.

Theo whined, pushing his shaft harder against his mate.

Alek carried Theo forward to lay him onto his back in the middle of the bed. He pulled back to peer down at Theo. “We need to hurry.”

“Okay.” Theo didn’t care about anything other than coming.

Alek pulled Theo’s underwear down before taking Theo’s cock into his mouth.

Rocking up, Theo shoved his dick down Alek’s throat then pulled back and thrust hard again. He grabbed hold of Alek’s gorgeous hair and yanked as he rode the high of ecstasy.

He kept fucking in and out of Alek’s mouth until he shouted and came. That had to be fast, right? Just what Alek wanted?

Alek pulled back, licking his lips. “Thanks for the appetizer.”

Theo groaned at the cheesiness of that comment.

“Not good?” Alek asked.

“I think you should leave the jokes for Wylder. That is so something that he would say,” Theo pointed out.

“I believe he said it to me a few days ago,” Alek admitted.

That was even worse. Theo held out his hands. “Now you have to help me dress since you made my knees weak.”

Alek snorted. “And you said my jokes were bad.”

“But it’s true!” Theo said. And he was kind of tired and wouldn’t mind a nap.

“No sleeping.” Alek pulled Theo off the bed.

“Fine,” Theo whined. At least he would get to see his favorite people.

Alek

Stepping out of the portal holding Wylder’s hand, Alek called. “We’re here!”

“Boys!” Tate walked from the front room. “We’re so happy that you have accepted our invitation to dinner.”

Immediately, Alek knew that something was wrong. Tate was smiling but his energy was off. “What happened?” Alek questioned.

Tate shook his head. “Let me greet everyone.”

Tate kissed Alek’s cheek before hugging Wylder, then Theo. He shook hands with Dario and Mitch then motioned them forward. ‘I have drinks set out for all of us.”

“Where’s Father?” Alek asked. Vadir would tell him what was going on. He never tried to keep things from them. Tate was the worrier of the group, wanting to protect his boys.

“He will be down in a moment,” Tate said with a frown.

That was not the answer he wanted. It wasn’t really an answer at all. Alek could feel the energy of all his fathers in the house, so they were all home. A chill traveled up his spine.

He followed behind his mates, dragging his feet a little, hoping that one of his other fathers would be around.

“Everything okay?” Dario asked, dropping back to whisper in his ear.

“Something is going on. Tate is worried,” Alek shared.

“I’m sure they will tell us,” Dario said. “And whatever it is, we’ll help them through it.”

Alek nodded. They were the fiercest family in all the realms. His fathers had been the chosen for so long that they had allies everywhere. He entered the front room to find Tate passing out drinks. Non-alcoholic for the boys and Vadir’s preferred choice of drink.

Tate crossed the room to hand him and Dario their drinks. “Everything is fine.”

“Of course it is!” Carson clapped his hands as he entered the room. “We’re just so happy to see you all.”

Alek sipped the strong liquor, letting it burn down his chest as Carson greeted his mates.

Vadir, Seb, and Mah joined him and Alek nearly dropped his crystal tumbler. Mah had been crying. It was obvious with his red-rimmed eyes even though it looked like he’d tried to hide it.

Mah didn’t cry. He was the strongest man that Alek knew. He’d raised five rambunctious and stubborn boys, never letting them doubt their abilities. Mah would argue and take on Vadir if it came to something that he believed in.

He started forward, but Vadir gave a sharp shake of his head.

Alek stopped. Were they going to have to sit through a full meal before he found out what was happening?

Alek hated to sound like Theo but that wasn’t fair.

Okay, no he didn’t hate sounding like his sweet mate.

Theo had no problem speaking up for what he wanted.

The boy had grown so much from that first time that he’d run away from them when the subject of mates came up.

That seemed like so long ago when in fact it was just a few months ago.

Every day passed by quickly. Theo had grown the most in that time. Maybe being more like his mates wasn’t a bad thing. Alek set his drink down.

“Can we stop pretending and you tell us what is going on?” Alek requested as politely as he could.

Tate sighed.

Vadir cleared his throat. “Please sit.”

So this was a sitting conversation? That was not good. As everyone settled around the room, Alek moved to stand behind the couch where Mitch, Theo, and Wylder sat. Tate and Carson sat on the couch in front of them with Mah in the middle. Vadir stood beside Tate and Seb on the end by Carson.

“We received word today that Mah’s brother has taken ill,” Vadir stated.

Alek stiffened. Mah’s brother held the highest position on the council in the celestial realm for their family. A powerful spot that had to be passed down through bloodlines.

Dario placed his hand on Alek’s lower back, probably knowing where Alek’s concern was. Would Mah have to take over for him.

“We’ll be leaving in the morning to travel and take Mah home to say his goodbye,” Vadir said.

“Will you be coming home?” Alek said quietly.

“It hasn’t been revealed who the successor will be. That will happen when the scrolls are open. It’s a waiting game from here,” Seb answered.

“He has children,” Alek pointed out. “Some that live in that realm.”

Mah nodded. “It would be best if one of his children is chosen to take his position.”

“But we don’t know. Mah’s family has been pushing for years for him to return,” Vadir said.

That was Alek’s concern. The estrangement that Mah had with his family started before Alek had been born. Mah’s family had expected him to turn down the call of destiny and being one of the chosen. They’d trained him from birth to sit on the celestial council and rule in the family name.
