Chapter Six
Becca
I had no idea what the hell was happening. First, I’d summoned an orc somehow. Then, he’d ripped Jun’s feathers from him as if he was some kind of pet bird. After that, he’d offered them to me, saying words that I didn’t understand in a throaty growl that had my panties saturated for some reason. And now he was reaching his hand out, my boob the obvious target.
I smacked his hand, but he frowned at me as if I was being a disobedient pet. He growled a few more of his nonsense words and then tried again.
“Stop,” I gasped, slapping his huge paw of a hand away once more.
He narrowed his eyes and growled a few more of his words.
“I don’t understand you,” I told him, shaking my head before scuttling backward, away from him.
He was there in a second, pursuing me with single-minded interest. I swallowed hard, glancing around and praying someone else was here.
He murmured lower in that language, sending a shiver down my spine and I glanced at where he was looking. My skirt had ruched up and my legs were now exposed to mid-thigh. Those ever-present hands of his had a new target and we had a small tussle where I kept slapping them away and he glowered at me as if I was the one being ridiculous.
He held his hands up in a sign that I could understand to mean, What gives?
“I don’t know you!” I told him, waving toward him and moving backward again, tugging at my skirt to make sure I didn’t expose myself to him. “And I don’t let strangers grab me!”
I didn’t explain that I was being flooded with an emotion I’d never felt for a male before in my life. For the first time ever, the loneliness that had been ever-present inside me had settled into nothingness. It was as if I’d been waiting for him . This male.
But who the hell was he and how did he get here? Even if I’d summoned him from the book, he had to have come from somewhere . He pondered me for a long moment, his eyes dragging up and down my body—feeling like fingers with the heat he left behind.
He heaved out a big, pent-up breath before hitting his chest-plate again.
“Rok,” he said in a rough voice. He held his hand out to me, and my eyes widened in realization.
He’s introducing himself.
Charmed, but trying not to be, I tucked my hair behind my ear, watching as his gaze followed the movement. I couldn’t stop myself from feeling like prey to this huge male. I pressed my hand to my chest and those dark brown eyes focused on my breasts again, softening as he licked his lips. I tried not to focus on that peek of his wide tongue.
“Becca,” I said, pronouncing the word slowly. He nodded, moving his lips for a moment before he said, in a perfect slow replication,
“Becca.” My pussy clenched at that and I saw his gaze drop to where I was squeezing my thighs together, a slow smirk playing at his lips.
Fuck. He knows.
Orc possessed an insanely strong sense of smell, but I hadn’t realized just how strong. “ Becca ,” he growled again and I didn’t know what to expect, but it was not him reaching for me. I scuttled away again, but he was faster, grabbing me into his arms and lifting me like I was as light as a feather. I blinked up at him, my jaw slack with shock.
What the hell.
He looked around, lifting his head to sniff the air before striding from the room, confident until he was faced with the elevator. Tilting his head at the metal doors, he reached forward to pry the doors apart with just his fingers. The metal bended , boggling my mind.
“No!” I yelled, slapping his hands again. He jostled me, stopping me from hitting him, but I didn’t want him to damage the beautiful library.
“That way,” I pointed at the staircase doors and his handsome brow furrowed as he peered at it. He moved toward it instead, sniffing at the door before moving his fingers to poke between the gap again. I slapped his hands away again, reaching down and turning the handle, pushing the door open.
He took a startled step back, eyeing the handle, poking it with his gigantic finger and moving it up and down. He murmured to himself in his language before patting my head as if he was thanking me. He continued forward, narrowing his eyes as he looked down the stairs. He tested one, and when it held under our weight, he huffed out a satisfied breath and started down.
“I hope you know that this is kidnapping,” I told him, clutching him around his neck to ensure that I didn’t fall as he hurried down the stairs, in a rush to go Gods know where with me in his clutches. “And while orcs used to do this kind of thing a long time ago, it’s seriously frowned upon now !” I didn’t bother to explain that the only time I’d even heard about an orc-abduction in the last few hundred years was in one of the smutty books that I read.
I gasped as he leaned down to nuzzle the top of my head, a purr starting up in his chest. “You can’t just… You… You…” I trailed off, my eyes going droopy with the sound of his purr and the vibration of his chest against me.
What the hell kind of magic is this?
