“What about your work and friends?”
“I work in town too now, remember? And if I’m needed here, there’re several portals in town that I can use,” Bastian said.

“It really is,” Bas agreed.
“And how have you all stayed hidden or so long?” Hudson asked.
Bastian had to give his boy credit for that question. “Because humans only believe what they want to.”
“I’ll have to agree with that.”
“Now, enough worrying,” Bastian ordered. “It’s time to let me take care of you.”
Hudson walked over to him. “Thank you, Daddy.”

Steam filled the air as Bastian directed Hudson under the spray of water with gentle hands.
