TWELVE
Mccoy
It had been almost twenty-four hours since I spoke to Saturn.
I was close to answering the phone the last time she called but didn’t.
First, I was ignoring her because I was truly upset.
I completely understood why she was mad, but I felt like she took it too far.
I hadn’t done anything wrong. Sleeping alone last night had been uncomfortable, but I wanted to give Saturn more time.
Getting into arguments was a normal part of a relationship, but I wanted her to think about if I was really who she wanted.
Things between us were good, but if I was going to be the blame every time some shit went left, we needed to reevaluate our situation.
I felt like I did my best when it came to being there for her, yet she made me feel like it wasn’t enough.
I came running every time she called, but I was truly busy this time around.
When I left the shop tonight, I planned on stopping by to see her.
I also noticed the shift in Sparky since last night.
Since I’d gotten him, he saw Saturn every day.
I missed her ass like crazy, but we needed to have a serious conversation.
“What about if you painted it gray or royal blue? I think that would be perfect,” Al said as he walked around the car.
Al was the same guy who had me missing my baby’s phone calls the other day.
He came back yesterday with a deposit for the old school I’d gone to Kentucky to pick up.

Building relationships with my clients was a priority.

These were the people who kept me out of my nine to five, so I always treated them with respect.
Now, Al and I were finishing the custom details before I really started to work.
“Blue paint was what I had in mind as well. I’m glad you said that,” I responded as I typed everything we discussed.
I was good at remembering every little detail of a current project, but I liked to type up something as a reminder.
More so for the customer. It hadn’t happened yet, but the last thing I needed was to fix a car and the customer claimed something wasn’t right.
It took me and Al another half hour to discuss everything he wanted.
At the end of our meeting, I gave him an estimated total and he was cool with it.
I had a few things I needed before I could officially start working on the car, so I locked the garage and left not long after Al.
Not knowing how things would go with Saturn, I stopped at home and showered before pulling up to her house.
Sparky’s big ass was up before I had the chance to place the truck in park.
When we reached her porch, the door was being pulled open.
Saturn appeared in the doorway with an unreadable expression on her face, but beautiful as always.
From the way her copper curls rested, I could tell she’d redone her hair.
She stood there in one of my T-shirts with some little ass shorts on.
Her pretty feet were bare and I could smell the body oil she used after showers.
“Hey, Saturn. I hope I’m not intruding in on your evening, but I wanted to talk to you. Plus, Sparky needed to see you,” I stated as I pointed to Sparky jumping all over her.
“You called me Saturn, so I’m assuming this talk isn’t a good one. Any other time you address me, it’s baby or bae,” she complained.
When she stepped to the side, I walked in and closed the door behind me.
Taking a seat on the couch, I waited for her to do the same.
After she and Sparky had their reunion, Saturn muted the TV and sat on the love seat to the left of me.
From where we were seated, the two of us could still see each other face to face.
“Listen, I wanna start off by apologizing. Ignoring your calls wasn’t planned, but I feel like it was needed?—”
“Needed? Going a whole day without talking to the man who’s supposed to be my boyfriend was hell.
I just knew we were done. I get it, I may have done too much taking my irritation out on you, but damn, Mccoy.
A whole day? Just makes me wonder how long you’ll go when we actually get into it about something serious. ”
“I wanted to give you a chance to think. I’m apologizing now because I realized that may not have been the best decision. I just need you to know my intention behind it.”
“Giving me a chance to think is a couple of hours, Mccoy. Not damn near a whole day.”
When a tear slid down her cheek, everything I planned to say went out the window. Like there was fire under my ass, I stood from the couch and went to comfort my baby. Pulling her onto my lap to straddle me, I gripped her chin and wiped the tears before kissing her.
“I’m sorry, baby. I really am.”
“I apologize for how I treated you. I know you wouldn’t have left me stranded had you known.
There was just a lot going through my mind.
Whenever my mom is in distress, the first person she calls is my dad.
She calls him for everything. That’s what I want, Mccoy. That’s all I wanted,” she explained.
“You got that, baby. I tell you all the time I’m here and I got you. Whatever you need, I’ll provide that. I always wanna be the first person you call on. But baby, I need you to realize that I’m just a man. Mistakes will happen, but I’ll never intentionally disappoint you.”
“I know you wouldn’t. Mccoy, I’ve been driving myself crazy, not knowing if we were still together or not.”
“Let’s get it understood. If the two of us don’t sit down and come to an agreement about parting ways, we’re still together. Your little ass came into my life and made me fall in love when love was the last thing on my mind. You’re stuck with me, baby. At least for the rest of this lifetime.”
“I’ll find you in the next one too. I only wanna be with you,” Saturn admitted as she thrusted against my dick.
