Chapter 19 My Lily
Renata
“Mmm…just like that. Keep going,” I moan, digging my fingers into Lily’s hair.
I sink deeper into my office chair. My legs are spread out and Lily is on her knees in front of me, her tongue dancing in circles over my erect clit. As expected, she’s been a quick study.
The lights are on tonight. I want to watch her properly, want her to be able to see me. It’s been years - possibly decades - since I’ve allowed myself so much pleasure in this way.
I feel my desire cresting, and I allow myself to go over the brink. I gasp as an orgasm washes over me. Lily doesn’t stop, she laps up my wetness eagerly, although she slows the movement of her lips.
“Again,” I command, pressing myself into her. She finds my opening and teases it with her willing tongue. “Ooh…yes…”
Her heart beats joyfully in her chest, so willing to be of service. My Lily…
I pause, surprised by the thought. She notices the shift in my energy, and stops. She looks up at me, concern in her sweet green eyes. “Is everything ok?”
“Yes, yes…sorry, Lily. I just got distracted, for a moment.”
My phone buzzes on the desk, then my smartwatch follows a second later. With a sigh, I turn off the alarm.
“Your meeting with the shareholders?” Lily asks.
“Yes,” I say, disappointed. She nods.
I have the strong urge to kiss her on the forehead, but I stop myself.
Everything with Lily has moved so quickly, but I know it’s my responsibility to keep some boundaries in place.
I definitely shouldn’t be thinking of her as “my” Lily, and kissing her forehead is too intimate.
Too romantic. So far, it’s just been sex.
“Do you…do you want to drink from me?” she asks, nervously. “Before your meeting? It could be fast. I know that you haven’t had any blood in a while…”
“I’m fine,” I reply quickly. Despite the tempting, floral smell of her blood, that also feels like a boundary that shouldn’t be crossed.
I don’t want to take advantage of her. And I know I can’t keep drinking from her thighs.
Eventually, I would need to move to another artery, and it’s too risky that someone could see it.
Although I can think of a few other hidden spots on her body that we could try first…
Lily rises, smoothing the folds of her light sweater-dress. It’s blue, soft, and it hugs her curves perfectly. I wish I had time to tear it off of her, but there’s just too much work to do.
“Um,” Lily touches her mouth self-consciously. “Do you have any tissues? I forgot to bring a box in.”
“Yes, in the cabinet,” I tell her, pulling my skirt back on.
I take a compact mirror from my desk and reapply my lipstick. In the corner of my eye, I catch Lily pulling something small and round from the cabinet drawer.
It’s the wooden top. She furrows her brow. “What’s this?”
“It’s nothing,” I say, my voice more stern than I intend. “Put it back. Now, please.”
“I…I’m sorry…” she says, quickly returning it to its spot and closing the drawer.
“It’s the other cabinet.” I nod in the direction of the cabinet where I keep extra supplies. She finds a tissue and wipes her mouth, then she moves to the office door. I see the worried frown on her face and there’s a flicker of guilt in my stomach.
“I apologize for snapping,” I tell her, before she goes. “That was something from a long time ago, and I don’t want to speak about it.”
“I understand,” she says, softly. “I’m going to go to the bathroom, then I’ll see you in the shareholder meeting?”
“Yes, thank you,” I reply, my tone shifting back into work mode. It’s strange how easy I’m finding it to adjust to this new relationship of our’s.
She gives me a smile, and exits.
When she leaves, she takes that warm feeling with her. I’m strangely achy, and restless. Perhaps it was seeing the wooden top. I should put it back in my crypt, where no one will find it.
There’s a knock on my door. Before I can say anything, Celine enters.
“Renata, what’s going on?” she asks. “I asked you for the report from Damien two nights ago.”
“Shit, I’m sorry, Celine.” There’s a twisting sensation in my gut. “I’ll get that to you right away.”
She looks me over. “Are you ok?”
“I’m fine,” I reply, self-consciously smoothing my skirt.
“Have you been drinking enough?”
“Yes, I just told you that I’m fine,” I snap. “Now, are you going to lecture me all night, or are you going to let me get some work done?”
She gives me a final glare and then leaves my office.
Now I’m in a properly bad mood. And I feel terrible that I forgot to finish that report for her.
It was Damien’s security report, from the night Lily and I were attacked on the holding floor.
I wanted to double check it and add my comments, so that Celine and Damien can go over it again.
They’re trying to find out if it could have been Xavien’s vampire clan, especially if they’re now operating in the city.
I’m sure I saw traces of red energy magic, which is usually Oana, but since she’s locked up in prison, it could possibly have been one of Xavian’s vampires.
Although they had a silver chain. It’s so strange…
I quickly type up the comments, and email the document to Celine.
Lily’s voice crackles over my speakerphone. “Renata? Are you in your office? The shareholders are waiting…”
“I’ll be right there, Lily,” I tell her, standing quickly and grabbing my laptop.
I hate being late for meetings. And I didn’t even have a minute to prepare.
As much as I’ve been enjoying my trysts with Lily, I’m afraid I’ve gotten even more behind on my work. I’m going to have to really push it if I’m going to get everything done before the witch conference.
