Chapter 10

chapter ten

The next morning, Julienne took her time getting ready. Alek had left in the wee hours of the morning, but she hadn’t been able to go back to sleep. She kept trying to admonish herself for what she had done, but she just couldn’t do it. Not when her body still tingled every time she thought about Alek’s lovemaking.

There was a knock at the door, but before she could get to the door, it opened revealing David.

“So, how was dinner last night?”

“Good morning, David.”

He rolled his eyes. “Good morning, Jules. Now tell me.”

She chuckled as she gathered her purse and notebook. There were a few more meetings this morning they had set up before they were supposed head back to Oahu. First, though, she needed breakfast even though she would forgo the tea. Americans really could not make a decent cup, well, except Marta and Nic.

As they walked down the hallway, her security a hulking presence as they did, she could feel the irritation dripping from David. He did not like to have to wait for information.

She smiled and said nothing as they rode down in the lift, or while they waited to be seated in the cafe. Her was barely holding his tongue when they were finally seated at the table alone.

“Everything was fine and we both agree not to say anything to anyone.”

He frowned at her, clearly not happy with the situation. As her PA, he should be trying to keep her off the rags.

“That’s it?”

She nodded and smiled at the server as she set their coffees down—not her preference, but she needed caffeine and she would take some Kona coffee over weak American tea any day—and they gave her their orders.

When they were finally alone, he leaned forward, anticipation in his expression. “Tell me.”

“That’s it. It’s best if we treat it as if it never happened.”

“You had dinner and he just left?” David asked, disapproval in his voice.

She nodded.

“He did not leave until three this morning.”

This came from Jack. She narrowed her eyes at him, but he didn’t flinch.

“Oh, really?” David asked.

She didn’t take her gaze away from the security guard. “How do you know that? Not that I’m saying that happened,” she said.

“He texted us to tell me he was leaving.”

She rolled her eyes.

“Ohhh. I’m liking him more and more,” David said.

“It doesn’t matter. We are just going to work now. You know that Wulf Industries does not like to mix business with pleasure.”

“Your brother married his PA.”

“Still. It’s not a good idea. Could you imagine if the rags found out? They would tear me apart.” He opened his mouth to argue with her, but she shook her head. “No. End of story. Let’s go over that Hamburg job we have coming up.”

She knew that he would bring it up again, but David knew when to push her and when to get to work. With that, they started talking about the hotel they just took over and some of the design ideas she had.

By the time lunch time rolled around, Alek had had enough. And by enough, he meant that he had been in the same room with Jules and had to keep his hands to himself. He knew it made him a creeper, once again, but he slipped into the same empty office room and waited.

As he saw her approach, he opened the door, grabbed her by the hand, and pulled her into the office. He looked at her security detail. “We’ll only be a moment.”

The bigger of the two nodded at him. Alek knew he had gained some traction with him since he had texted him that morning and waited until they showed up before he left.

He shut the door and crowded her back up against it. He knew he had things to talk about with her, but right now, he couldn’t think about them. She was wearing a sleeveless blue shirt, tucked into a dark grey pencil skirt that hugged her curves, and blue fuck me shoes that matched her shirt. She’d put her hair up—probably trying to control the curls—but a few of them had already escaped.

“What’s up?”

He blinked and it took a second to get his mind to work.

“Alek?”

He cleared his throat. “We might have a problem.”

Julienne stared at him as if he lost his mind. “What do you mean?”

“We didn’t use any kind of protection last night.”

She blinked. “I’m on the pill, and I just had a check-up.”

He nodded. “I did too.”

“So no worries there.” She closed her eyes and shook her head. “I don’t know what has gotten into me.”

“Me.”

Her eyes shot open. “Alek don’t talk like that. Not here while we’re at work.”

“Now you’re trying to play the good girl?”

“What do you mean by that? I have a reputation for being the one good sibling out of our family. Well, now Jensen is sober and has been for years, but I never did the kinds of things my brothers did.”

He leaned closer and drew in a breath, his chest expanding and brushing against her breasts. With it came the scent of her, rose water and her own unique scent. Fuck, innocence and sin all rolled up in one woman. That contrast was so damned irresistible to him.

“I’m not talking about antics that land you on the front page of the tabloids. I’m talking the two nights we shared. You remember those, don’t you?” She shivered. That was enough to tell him she did remember. He glanced down and saw her nipples hard against the silk fabric of her blouse. “You might play the good girl during the day, but at night you are definitely a very, very bad girl.”

“I have meetings this morning, and I really don’t like making people wait.”

He ignored her comments. Not because he didn’t respect her, but he heard the arousal shimmering in her voice. It spoke to him on a level that he truly didn’t understand.

“You can pretend to be that good girl, but I know the truth. When I have you beneath me and screaming my name, I’ll be able to prove my point.”

She turned to face him, and he saw it then. The shimmering heat in her eyes, but something else, something that tugged at his heart. She was ashamed of that. Ashamed of what made her feel good, and that was something he had to help her with.

“I am not a girl. I’m a woman.”

She said it in the upper-class English prissy tone of hers that made him hot. With most women, it would be a turn off. With her…fuck, he wanted to strip her down and eat her delicious pussy. He was a sick, sick man.

“Oh, darlin’,” he said, allowing his gaze to drift down to her breasts and back up again. “I know you are all woman.”

Her eyes flared—whether in irritation or in arousal he didn’t care. What he cared about was that sweet scent of her, and how it felt to push deep inside of her with the taste of her need on his tongue. God, this woman had him twisted up inside.

She drew in a deep breath and he watched the way her pulse pounded in her neck. She licked her lips and he followed the motion, unable not to. This woman had said she wanted space between them, but he was ignoring that. Which made him an ass. He needed to get his dick back under control, but it was almost impossible around her.

He cupped her face, giving her time to say no, to deny the fact he knew her panties were dripping wet in anticipation. He pressed his mouth against hers, then slipped his hand down, brushing his fingers over her nipples, then easing down further.

Pulling back just and inch, he said, “Lift your skirt up, Jules.”

She shivered against him, as if trying to fight the need to do as he asked. But she did, his cock aching at her compliance. He started kissing her again and pressed his hand against her panty clad pussy. Fuck, she was hot and wet, and it would be so easy to slip inside of her and fuck her against the door.

He eased the sheer fabric aside and cupped her sex, enjoying the little hitch in her breath. He slipped a finger inside her and his eyes almost rolled back in his head. Her muscles clamped tight on his digit. He kissed his way over to her earlobe, taking it between his teeth and tugging on it as he added another finger to her pussy.

“Oh, you are definitely lying to yourself if you say you don’t want me.”

“I never said that. I said that I shouldn’t…we shouldn’t.”

That told him all he needed to know. She’s a woman who had kept her needs on lockdown and now that their time together unleashed it, Jules was having issues with trying to get herself back under control. He knew he couldn’t fuck her, but he wanted to prove to her that there was nothing bad about what they did. That she wanted him as much as he wanted her.

He pressed his thumb against her pulsing clit.

“You know you like this, right? Not because I’m good with my hands, but because you know that people are just outside this door. You probably wanted a good hard fuck in the elevator the night we met, didn’t you?”

She didn’t answer his whispered question, so he stopped moving his fingers and she growled.

“Tell me. You wanted to fuck in the elevator, didn’t you? Wanted me to slam my hard cock into this perfect little kitty and make you come. Just the thought someone might see us makes you wet.”

There was a long second, their breathing the only sound in the office. Then finally, “Yes.”

He pulled back because he heard shame in her voice. “Don’t be ashamed.”

She opened her mouth, but he pressed his lips against her and stole inside as he started to move his fingers again. He broke the kiss and leaned closer so he could whisper once more.

“Think about it, Jules. People are walking by and any of them could figure out what we’re doing in here.” Her muscles contracted around his finger and his fingers were dripping with her need.

“Definitely a naughty girl, aren’t you, Jules. Right now, you want to fuck my hand and come all over my fingers. Do it.”

She was already coming. He kissed her, muffling her cry of completion as she rode his hand, her muscles clamping tight around his fingers. When he looked down at her, she opened her eyes slowly, the glaze of her recent pleasure making him more than happy with his morning.

Alek slipped his hand from her panty and captured her gaze. He licked his fingers, watching as her eyes widened and she licked her lips.

“What…what about you?”

He shook his head. He wanted to take her, to bend her over the desk and fuck her until they both couldn’t stand, but he knew better than to tempt fate.

“We’ll just call this…to be continued.”

She sighed as he eased her skirt down. Stepping back, he made sure she looked okay.

“I have to go. We’re flying back to Oahu this afternoon.”

He nodded as he cupped her face and kissed her, enjoying the taste of her mouth, the press of her lips against his, the way their tongues tangled.

“And, please, Alek. No more of this. You are…” she sighed and in that one little sound he heard it all. Her regret, her need…it twisted his heart. He knew she had been through the ringer earlier this year, but he hadn’t realized how much it had affected her life.

“Tell you what. I’ll agree to no more touching until you tell me I can.”

She studied him, and to say there was skepticism in her gaze would be an understatement.

“Just like that?”

“I will probably try to convince you otherwise, but yeah, unless you give me permission, I won’t touch you. That ball’s in your court.”

“Okay. Thank you.”

Was she a little sad? Maybe he was imagining it, but he didn’t think so. He let her go then, closing the door behind her and drew in a deep breath. One thing that proved that they were far from over. He glanced down at his tented pants and rolled his eyes. He just hoped he could function with blue balls.
