Anthony
Woman – Mumford that’s why we split, but I talk before my mind catches up. “Yeah, I’ll let you know when we get home. I’ll talk to you later.” With that, I hang up the phone.
Finishing up my coffee and getting up to go get another cup, my phone is ringing again. This time I check the screen first, and it’s Mika again. What could she need now? “Mika, I said I would tell you–”
She cuts me off before I can finish the sentence. “What do you mean by when WE get home?” Oh, shit! I did say WE. She sounds upset, or maybe hurt, even? “Does this WE involve you and Ashlynn? Is she moving into the house we shared and bought together?”
I don’t want to deal with this crap first thing in the morning. “Yes, Mika. Ashlynn and I are together again, and probably for good. Also, I don’t want to be a dick, but you didn’t buy anything. It was all my competition money that bought the house, remember?”
When she speaks again, it is with a shaky voice, “Fine, but we lived there together for three years, Anthony. You can’t replace me, just like that!”
God dammit, she is too emotional. “Mika, I am not replacing you. We had three good years living together. I am not arguing about that, but I have moved on and yes, it is with Ashlynn. She is the one I know I am meant to be with.”
Letting out a little cry, she says, “I know, Anthony. I just didn’t expect you to move on so quickly. I did, however, expect it to be with her. Of course, after everything I found and read. I just don’t know; I guess that just bothered me.”
Pouring my coffee and going back to the deck, I say, “Mika, it shouldn’t bother you. From what I have heard, you have moved on already with someone in a rock band.”
“WOW, how did you hear that? I have and I am happy. So, I don’t know why I am acting that way. I am happy for you, Anthony. Please just let me know when you are back in Greenville, or if Chase or Nick is there, maybe they can help me out.”
“Chase is here in Seattle and Nick is in Frisco. I’ll call you once I am in town, promise.”
After hanging up the phone with Mika for the second time this morning, it really bothered me and dampened the good mood I had from the evening before. “I woke up in a good mood. What a weird morning!” I say to myself.
Walking back into the house, I hear the shower running and make my way upstairs to finish my packing. Ashlynn has her suitcase packed and closed up, ready to leave and head home. Throwing my shit in my case, I start thinking about what Mika said, about sharing the house she and I lived in, with Ashlynn. I don’t know if she would be willing to do that, but could she honestly ask me to sell it or move? We haven’t even talked this far and maybe that is too soon of a step to take. This vacation and me going home with her for the next few weeks, maybe is enough for now. Maybe we can just do the distance thing. I feel bad thinking about a distance thing. It seems like I may not think we will last that long.
Lost in thought, I don’t hear the shower shut off and Ashlynn opening the bathroom door.
“Good morning!” Ashlynn tells me, with a giant smile on her face, erasing all doubts in me.
Smiling at her, I reach my hand out, grabbing her wrist to pull her to me. “Good morning, how are you feeling today?”
She gives me a strange look until it finally clicks. Biting her lip, “I feel okay. I thought that I might be a little sore, but I’m not.”
I feel relieved that she is not sore; I wasn’t sure what to expect. “I’m glad to hear that. Are you all ready to head out soon?”
Looking around and double checking, she says, “Yes, I am all packed up. I am going to miss it here. I had such a good time.”
Capturing her lips for a slow kiss, I pull away to look at her; she’s makeup free, has wet hair, and is beautiful. “I had a great time! We can always come back!”
Now Ashlynn is the one pulling me back in for another kiss. While kissing her, I pull her towel down, letting it fall to the floor. Grabbing the back of her thighs, I pull her between my legs. “Anthony, we don’t have time! We have to get to the airport!”
For that, I bite her bottom lip and pull on it, not hard, but enough to get a little moan. “There is always time for us to do something!”
She tries to push me away from her, but that just makes me hold her tighter. I start running my hands down her smooth legs, and when I come up, I caress the insides and with a feather-like touch, rub over her center. “Touching you will never get old, baby. I can do it every day, over and over.”
Moving for another kiss, Ashlynn takes my bottom lip and bites. Then, she moves my hand between her legs and takes two of my fingers to push them in herself. Tilting her head back on a moan, I can hear just how wet she really is. Once she has had enough, she pulls me out, and with the tip of my fingers, she traces her lips with her wetness and flicks her tongue out to lick herself up. “Ashlynn, baby, you do things like that, and I will want to bend you over!”
Leaning into my ear, she whispers, “Bend me over, Anthony!” She doesn’t have to tell me twice when it comes to being inside her. I do exactly that: I bend her over the bed and enter her from behind, holding onto her hips. She is so wet that I slide right in. My breathing becomes labored entirely too quick; she just has me so turned on! With a few more pumps of my hips and our skin slapping together, I have my orgasm and throw my arms around her waist, holding on for my life. This orgasm is intense and has me making sounds I’ve never made before. Leaning down so my chest is against her back and still inside her, Ashlynn starts to clench my cock with her pussy, milking every drop out of me. “Oh, you are a fucking tease!”
Looking back at me with a smile on her face, she says, “Just making sure you are done!”
Ashlynn moves away from me, and I collapse on the bed. “Now, we really need to get ready and get to the airport!” She says as she leans over and gives me a quick peck.
“You just made the excuse we didn’t have time to have your way with me!”
“Maybe, but I didn’t hear you complain!”
Turning my head in her direction, I say, “No complaints from me when it comes to you, ever!”
We make it to the airport right on time, because once we get to our gate, boarding has started. Ashlynn’s phone has been blowing up from Heath with reviews of her book. He is sending her just about all of them through text. Getting to our seats, she finally can read everything he sent her. I try not to look, but it gets the best of me; all I can read off her phone is nothing but good things. As Ashlynn reads, her smile is huge. But I can tell when she comes across a tough one because she makes a face and throws her hand up, as if she doesn’t know what to say. It's one of her many quirks. I don’t even think she realizes she does it. Tilting my head over to her, I ask, “All good reviews, I hope?”
Throwing her hand up, “I can’t please everyone, but for the most part, they are all positive!”
I grab her hand and give her a kiss on the inside of her wrist, “You are correct, you can’t please everyone. The good seems to outweigh the bad, though. That’s what really matters!”
Sitting on the runway for a few extra minutes, I get a text from Nick.
After almost 3 hours, we land in Denver with another drive ahead of us. I am glad Ashlynn left her truck here, so we don’t have to Uber. Once outside the airport, the cold air blasts me in the face and it is freezing. I am no longer used to it. Luckily, for some reason, I always pack a few hoodies and a beanie, which are both coming in handy now. Getting to the truck and heading to the interstate, I decide maybe now would be a good time to bring up our living situation.
“So, I’ve been thinking about what we should do about our living situations.”
Ashlynn is driving, so she barely gives me a quick glance. “What about it? Do you want to move to Frisco to live with me?” She says this with a smile on her face.
Speaking without fully thinking, I say, “WHAT?! FUCK NO! I don’t want to move back here!”
I realize what I said, as soon as it came out of my mouth, and it is too late to take back now. Shit, blame it on being groggy or the crappy phone call I got this morning with my emotional ex.
“Wow, glad that’s how you feel. I won’t be moving to Greenville, so I guess we figured out where we don’t agree!” Ashlynn says that to me almost as harsh as what I said, but she is too nice of a person to be fully harsh with me.
“It’s not that I don’t want to live with you, but you’ve never lived anywhere else. Don’t you think it would be fun to move to Greenville and live with me?” Complete and utter silence is what I am getting. Shit!
Finally getting to Ashlynn’s house, she turns the truck off and tosses her keys over to me. Catching them, I ask, “Am I not allowed to come inside?”
Opening her door and with her back to me, she says, “You can, but you should go hang out with Nick.”
She closes her door and walks toward the house; I throw my side open and run up to her, “Ashlynn, stop. I wasn’t thinking when I said that and didn’t mean for it to come out so rude.”
She’s not even looking at me and all I get is, “It’s okay, I’m fine!” I grab her hand, but she pulls away and then looks at me. “Just to be clear, it’s only okay for me to up and move my life, but you won’t even consider it for me?”
“No, Ashlynn. It's not okay for me to expect that. I am sorry. Look, you are upset. So, I am going to go hangout with Nick, and we can talk when we both cool down.” Surprisingly, she lets me give her a kiss and with that, she turns to go inside.
Jumping back in the truck, I head over to the bar Nick is at. Opening the door, I spot him right away. “Hey man! How’s it going? Sorry it took me a bit longer to get here.”
Swallowing his sip of beer, he says, “No, worries. How was Seattle? How’s Ashlynn doing? Neha said her book is getting some really good reviews!
“Yeah, most of the reviews are positive. A few bad ones here and there. Seattle was awesome; we had a really good time. As of right now, back home, Ashlynn isn’t too happy with me, though!”
Giving me a confused look, he asks, “You guys just got back, what the hell happened from leaving Seattle to getting to her house?”
Taking a big gulp on my beer, I clear my throat. “Well, I brought up our living situation and told her she should move to Greenville with me, after she had asked if I wanted to move here to live with her and I bluntly said ‘FUCK NO!’”
Tapping his fingers on the table, he says, “I can see why she is upset with you! You got to meet halfway on that shit.”
I roll my eyes because, apparently, Nick is suddenly a relationship guru. “I’ll make it up to her; not sure how, but I will. Anyway, what have you and Neha been up to?”
Once Neha’s name is out of my mouth, Nick has the goofiest smile; he is so whipped. I guess I am too, though, when it comes to Ashlynn. “Neha is doing well; she is up for a big promotion. I can’t remember the exact title. We also made ourselves exclusive.”
Nodding my head at him, I say, “It’s about damn time! I’m surprised you didn’t do it sooner.”
“Yeah, well the snap was when she told me she was talking to your guy Jax every now and then since she met him in Colorado Springs.”
Well, this is interesting. “I honestly had no idea they were talking.”
Shrugging his shoulders, he says, “It’s all good. She made the right choice!” He says this with a cocky grin. We stay and hang out at the bar for a few more hours and by the time we leave, it’s late.
Pulling into the driveway, I notice the light is on in the room Ashlynn uses as her writing room. I'm happy to see she's still awake, so I can talk to her. Opening the front door, I make my way inside. I close it and lock up for the night. I peek in the room, and she is not in there. I head to the den–maybe she is watching TV and didn’t hear me come in, but she is not in there either. I don’t hear any water running, so she isn’t in the shower. Coming up to her bedroom, she has the door cracked. Quietly pushing it open, I see that she is there, asleep, holding onto a book that is laying on the mattress. I love this girl and, to be honest, I would move back here to be with her.
I jump in the shower really quick before I get in bed. Once out, I grab the book from her grip and when I lift it, a picture falls out of the spot she was on. It lands on the mattress, face down. I recognize the handwriting and the words I wrote on it. I whisper them. “You are my forever.”
I flip it over and it is a picture of us from high school. Setting the book on the nightstand, I crawl into bed. Pulling the blankets over us both, I try not to disturb Ashlynn, but she wakes up and rolls over to look at me. Leaning in for a kiss, she takes my lips lightly. “I’ll come to Greenville,” she says.
Pulling back, I’m shocked with her agreeing to move to my home. “Baby, I don’t want you to do that unless you really want to. I’m sorry for being so rude earlier.”
Ashlynn moves and nuzzles into my neck, and I wrap her up in my arms tight. Laying in the quiet and dark room, I whisper to her, “I was thinking while driving home, that maybe we should buy a house together and make it our home! What do you think?”
I hear Ashlynn take a sharp inhale and she tightens her arms around me, “Okay, I like that idea! Making a home with you.”
She can’t see me, but I do have the biggest smile on my face. I can make out the silhouette of her profile; I tilt her chin up, and whisper, “I love you!”
I take her lips and give her a slow deep kiss. Pulling back from my lips, she whispers, “Always, always!”
