Callum's POV
Over the past few days Max aura had increased. It became more annoying and irritating. How dare he threaten me. He knew how to play this game very well, he must have thought it through, over and over again on ways to defeat me.
Liv was his triumph card. He always used her to his advantage, especially at a time when he knew I would win against him. This time around, he crossed all boundaries with his brothers.
Attacking dark moon pack just so he could get Liv to be his wasn't enough for him. Now he wants to get rid of Liv just to save himself, earlier Max wasn't sure of his victory but now he knew for a fact he would surely win.
Liv was my weakness. If I dared to go against him, he would surely kill her. One traits I had seen in Max is he doesn't make empty threats, he does whatever he says he would do without any feeling of remorse or taking time to think about it.
On the other hand. I can't act so helpless, I can't watch Max do as he pleases just because I'm scared of putting Liv's life in danger. There must surely be a way to throw the ball right back in my court once again.
I wasn't the only one who felt some type of way. Everyone around me looked frustrated by everything that was happening, their expressions didn't go unnoticed by me.
I squeezed the note in my hands, I made sure to crush every bit of it. If only the note was a living being, I wouldn't hesistate to crush life out of it. The same thoughts imploded my head, how was I going to get Liv back, alive and unharmed?.
"That's impossible, I don't just believe Max's words" Frank said, breaking the silence that erred on us all.
"Max is my brother. We grew up together right from birth, I know for a fact he doesn't bluff. He means everything he said so you have no other option, rather than to believe his words" Ryder aired out.
"Come on guys. Don't drown yourselves in thinking about something that can't happen, don't forget this matter is about Liv. Can't you guys see what I'm seeing?" Frank said.
"What are you seeing that we can't see?" Ryder asked.
"Max is in love with Liv so he might not hurt her, that's the simple fact so it means we still have the upper hand" Frank pronounced.
"You're just making an assumption Frank. you're not sure about it yet but I want you to know that Max is not just in love. He's an obsessive lover, he is crazy and he would do anything because he feels he's the only one treading the right path and we are all wrong" I informed.
I walked out of the room with quickened steps. My head was spinning so badly, it felt as though I was being suffocated. I needed some space to think and breathe properly.
I wasn't paying much attention to realise that Ryder trailed behind me. I felt his hand on my shoulder, he squeezed hard on it with a light pat.
"I really don't know what to do Ryder. I have always had the solutions to every problem that comes my way, but today I can't seem to understand anything" I said with a firm voice. My expression was cold but I knew what I was feeling inside of me.
"Those days you had to find solutions to the problems we faced, Liv wasn't involved but now it's all about her Callum" Ryder reassured.
"I swear to the moon goddess, once I'm able to save Liv and I bring her back to dark sky pack. I won't let her out of my sight, not even for a minute" I stated.
"You can do whatever you want. You can stake your claim on her as much as you want, that will only happen once we save her but for now we need to know exactly what Max wants" he voiced out.
"Liv" I called out in a soft whisper "That's what he wants. He doesn't want any form of obstacles in his way" I responded, groaning in frustration. "I failed her. I couldn't protect her"
Ryder didn't say a word to me. He just watched me lament all my miseries, pains, and torments with a listening ear. I made my way to the woods, Ryder followed behind me. I guess he didn't want to leave me alone at a crucial time like this.
I sat down on the rock in the woods as Ryder sat beside me. We were both silent, I don't know about Ryder but I was left cracking my brain on how I needed to come up with a fresh plan and execute it smoothly.
I heared a strange sound. It sounded as though someone was in the woods with us. I turned to look at Ryder, the way he looked at me I got to realise our minds were going in the same direction.
Whoever that person was, he came at the wrong time. The mood I was in was so bad, I was ready to kill anyone.
"It seems someone has been sent to spy on us" Ryder said.
"It won't be any other person apart from Max's men so get ready to attack" I replied, bracing myself up.
Ryder nodded his head in approval but before we could do something, someone jumped from the tree just in front of us. I was startled but definitely not afraid, I was ready to take on anything at that moment. I was an alpha afterall, an alpha represents strength.
"Samantha it's you" I exclaimed with a loud sigh.
"Yes it's me. Were you expecting to see someone else?" she asked, dusting her hands.
She turned to look at me with a smile beamed on her face. I was confused at her expression, why was she smiling? especially when there was nothing funny to laugh about.
"Now I get it. You thought it was one of Max's men and you were ready to pounce on him but I'm here now so you can pounce on me" she said sarcastically, snapping her fingers at me. I shook my head at her words.
"I guess I'll have to admit you're right in that. That's very smart of you" Ryder rolled his eyes.
She smirked at Ryder. "Yes I am. You should try being that too"
"How long have you been eaves dropping on us?" I questioned. She bursted out laughing as I creased my forehead at her.
"Don't think you're so important that I would waste my precious time to eaves drop on you. I don't have all the time in the world to spare for that, besides I was just sitting there when you guys came with your talks" she explianed, rolling her eyes at us.
"Are you sure you're normal?" Ryder asked as he lifted his gaze up.
She glared at him. "Listen, I won't take it if anyone throws insults at me" she lashed out at Ryder.
"Ohh fiesta" Ryder playfully waved his hands in the air dramatically, causing her to glare "and what sort of a person randomly stays in a tree? Is that your new home?" Ryder inquired.
"A crazy person does the unexpected" I muttered.
"It seems you haven't met crazy before" she pronounced.
"Whatever. We really don't care, we have better things to attend to than to stand here and banter words with you" Ryder shot at her..
Her eyes lit up that instant "I can always be of help to you, who knows?"
"What do you mean by that?" I folded my arms staring at her keenly
"That's a very simple task for me. I can tackle it within a snap of a finger. Anyways jokes aside, there is a way I can help to bring Liv back" she declared.
I stared deeply at her for some minutes. My gaze moved to Ryder, he was just as interested in her plan as me. Something inside of me kept telling me to give her a chance. Who knows she might be the person to help me out of the dilemma I was facing.
"What are you planning in that head of yours?" Ryder urged.
"Nothing much. I'll just use his weakness against him" she aired out. I was trying to understand the whole situation but I got more confused.
"What's his weakness?" I questioned with a stern glare at her.
"His weakness is a woman. In the sense that Max would do anything for a woman and trust me when I say my manipulative skills are top notch" she bragged with shrugged shoulders.
"You are just going to get yourself killed" I scoffed, almost as though I wasn't interested in her plans anymore.
"Don't you underestimate me"
I might have seen a lot of women in my whole existence, different kinds and types but the woman who stood in front of me was just like a discovery. She was like a puzzle which was hard to fix.
"I'm going to get Liv back. Also keep in mind that I won't come back not untill I have Liv with me" she aired out.
"What's the catch?" Ryder asked.
"As long as I don't get to listen to your whinings all day. And also you are forgetting she is my half sister also" she divulged.
