84. Clash of Stone and Steel #2
Samhail let out a roar and pushed her forward again as he pressed her shoulders into the mattress.
He drove into her with three more pounding thrusts before he stopped, fully buried inside her.
He let out a savage noise she’d never heard before, and then she felt him pulse as he spilled himself into her.
He gave one last half thrust before he eased, and Talyn’s own body sagged in relief.
Samhail pulled out of her, and she felt his seed drip from between her legs as they both collapsed, panting.
Several minutes later they still lay tangled around each other.
Samhail had stowed his wings, and he now lay on his back with her sprawled across him.
Talyn lifted her head from his chest and reached up to let her fingers trail down the side of his cheek.
Unlike the ever-present dark stubble Lord Bressen wore, Samhail’s face was perfectly smooth, and she wondered absently if he could even grow a beard.
She knew nothing about gargoyles and their bodies. Was it actually possible for him to get her pregnant, for instance? She wasn’t worried he would, but the question made her curious nonetheless.
“How do you do that?” she asked.
“Do what?” he asked, leaning his face into her touch. The gesture seemed unconscious, and she wondered if he knew he’d done it.
She started to speak but stopped, not willing to admit the way her body craved his. It wasn’t just the physical pleasure he gave her, but the way her skin tingled when he was near. She’d never felt anything like it.
“Never mind,” she said.
Samhail reached up and brushed a lock of hair back from her face before pressing a kiss to her temple. Her heart ached at that for some reason, and she swallowed down the lump that rose in her throat. Nemesis take him. What was he trying to do to her?
Talyn pushed herself up from Samhail’s chest and sat back. “Actually, I do have a question, and you need to tell me the truth.”
“Of course. What is it?”
“Do you have some sort of magical spell on your tongue? I’ve never felt anything like it before.”
He looked surprised for a second but then chuckled. “I do have a kind of secret weapon when it comes to my tongue,” he said hesitantly.
She narrowed her eyes. “Tell me.”
Samhail looked up at her for several seconds as if weighing the pros and cons of sharing his secret, and she quirked a brow.
“You might be disturbed if I tell you,” he said.
She frowned. “Now you have to tell me so I don’t have nightmares about what you’ve been doing between my legs.”
Samhail sighed heavily and sat up to face her. He pulled her onto his lap so she was straddling his thighs, then he wrapped his arms around her waist. She had the distinct feeling he was trying to hold her in place, something they both knew was futile if she wanted to get off him.
“Just try to remember how much you enjoy what my tongue does to you when I show you this,” he said, and Talyn frowned even more.
Then she gasped as Samhail opened his mouth to reveal a forked tongue, longer and thinner than his normal human tongue. Her body jerked in shock, and Samhail’s arms tightened around her.
“Don’t port,” he said, and for the first time ever she thought she heard fear in his voice.
She shook her head. “I won’t,” she said softly as she raised a hand toward his mouth. “That’s your gargoyle tongue?”
Talyn’s fingers touched his lips, and his tongue snaked out so its forks wrapped around her forefinger, squeezing it gently.
Nemesis take her. That explained a lot.
Talyn bit her lip as his tongue drew her finger into his mouth for him to suck on. “Fuck me,” she whispered. “First the wings and the teeth, now the tongue. I suppose I should be grateful you don’t have a giant stone cock. You don’t, right?”
Samhail chuckled again and nipped her finger gently before he let her pull it from his mouth.
“My gargoyle form is made for fighting, not for fucking,” he said. “A giant stone cock is a liability in battle.”
Talyn narrowed her eyes again as something occurred to her. “Do you use that tongue with other women?” she asked.
Samhail’s face fell, but he nodded. “I have. In the past.”
“With Cyra?” she asked, already knowing the answer, but needing to hear him say it. “Have you used that tongue between her legs as well?”
The deep exhale that pushed past Samhail’s lips also carried a growl.
“I’ve been using my gargoyle tongue with women for more than a century now,” he said. “So yes, I’ve used it on Cyra. I can’t take back the fact that I’ve had her, but I’m hoping you can find a way to get past that.”
Talyn just looked at him.
“Tell me what I can do to make this easier for you,” he said, his voice tinged with worry. “Do you want to fuck Bressen to make us even?”
Talyn couldn’t help the bark of laughter that escaped her.
“The Lord of Hiraeth and I would kill each other long before we made it anywhere near a bed,” she said, “and I’m not sure Cyra would appreciate you volunteering her husband to fuck me in any case.”
Samhail shrugged. “Maybe if the three of you-”
“Not going to happen,” Talyn said, cutting him off.
“Fine, but if you’re going to insist on destroying that fantasy for me, then tell me what you do want.”
She didn’t know. She thought she was past his involvement with Cyra, but learning about his tongue had dredged up lingering doubts.
Not that it mattered, she had to keep reminding herself. She was leaving and would probably never see him again. It didn’t matter anymore what he’d done with Cyra.
“If it helps, you’re the only person who knows about my tongue,” he said.
“I’ve never told anyone else – including Cyra – about it.
I figured it was better for women to just enjoy the feel without having to think about it.
” He paused before adding, “Not even Bressen knows, and he knows everything about me. You’re the only person in the world I’ve told, and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone else. ”
“Your secret is safe with me.”
Samhail brought his hand up to brush her cheek again with his thumb. “How do you feel about it?” he asked. “Does it disturb you to know?”
She thought a moment. It had been shocking to see it and realize that’s what had been between her legs, but she couldn’t deny that his use of it was…
euphoric. He’d been afraid she’d find his gargoyle form disturbing when he first shifted in Derridan, but the truth was that she found him fascinating, and part of her felt the same way about his tongue now.
He wasn’t fully human, so it was unfair to compare him to those who were.
For that matter, there was really no comparison. Samhail surpassed any man she knew by just about every measure she could think of. She wasn’t sure what she’d feel the next time his tongue was between her legs, knowing what it was, but for now at least, it didn’t bother her.
