Chapter 26 Sloane #2
I sang for him again as another orgasm ripped me in two, then collapsed against his chest as he held me and fucked me, whispering his praises until he fell apart inside me once more.
He held me until he grew soft, then helped me into the shower in the attached bathroom. He cleaned my body, then let me run my hands over every inch of his sculpted form as I tried to pass off my worship as bathing.
Had we not just had sex twice since we woke up, I gladly would have gone down on him until he yanked me up and fucked me against the shower wall. I held back, though, because my muscles were too weak, and I was sure his would be too.
Once out of the shower, we both rummaged through our bags for something clean to wear.
Kolton gathered up our dirty clothes and, with a kiss, told me he was going to start a load of laundry and see about getting us something to eat.
I had just finished drying my hair when I heard the doorbell ring, and my heart jumped to my throat.
“Not again,” I whispered to myself, searching the room for something to use as a weapon. The only thing I found was a remote control in the basket under the TV.
I snuck out of the bedroom but came to a stop at the top of the stairs. Kolton was talking to someone, and it wasn’t in the gruff voice he’d used against Beckett or the security guards in New York or the girl who broke into my apartment.
“You know, when Lee told me you’d call, I didn’t expect it to be this late,” came a female voice. I peeked down the stairs and saw Kolton with his head down and his hand at the back of his neck.
“We slept in,” he told her before shooting a glance up the stairs. His eyes lit up the moment he saw me. “It’s been a long couple of days. Diva, come on down here. I want you to meet my friend, Joss.”
Joss? Kolton had talked about her. His coworker who was half office admin, half den mother, trying to corral everyone at work and making sure they were where they were supposed to be.
I padded downstairs and was greeted by a woman who was older than me, though much prettier and younger than I expected after the things Kolton had told me.
“Oh my god!” Joss was bouncing on her toes, her clasped hands tucked under her chin as her long brown hair swayed with her movements. “Sloane Rivera! I’m your biggest fan. Oh my god, I love your music so much!”
Kolton beamed, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and drawing me near. “Everyone keeps claiming that, but we all know it’s not true, right Diva?”
I rolled my eyes and pressed my hand to his stomach. I’d meant to slap him lightly, but the memory of his washboard abs under my fingertips made me forget myself for a moment.
Joss planted her feet and then stuck out her hand. “I’m Joss Monroe. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Before reaching to shake her hand, I glanced up at Kolton. His eyes were shining, his grin so sweet it melted my heart. He motioned toward Joss with his chin and pressed a hand to my low back, prompting me forward.
Instead of shaking his coworker’s hand, I spread my arms and stepped toward her. “Any friend of Kolton’s is a friend of mine.”
Joss’s eyes widened, and just like so many of my fans, she barely contained her squeal as she accepted my hug. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! This is a dream come true!”
“It’s nice to meet you, Joss.”
Her pretty blue eyes were shining when she pulled away, but she tried to school her features. “Sorry. So sorry. I never dreamed I’d have a chance to meet you, and here I am, and I just can’t believe it, and I’m going to shut up now because I’m rambling.”
Kolton let out a laugh that was far more relaxed than I’d heard him before. I liked this version of him as much as I loved every other piece of him that he’d shown me so far.
Kolton cleared his throat, his grin uncontained as he looked between the two of us. “Joss brought us supper.”
At that moment, I smelled it. Something salty and sweet and scented with cinnamon. My mouth watered when I caught sight of the takeout bag from my favorite breakfast-all-day restaurant.
“You didn’t.” My hands were reaching for the bag before I thought to, my stomach rumbling for the stuffed French toast I’d been craving since we landed back in Chicago.
“Kolton told me to surprise him,” Joss said, sweeping her long hair over one shoulder. “I hope it’s okay.”
“Are you kidding me? This is amazing! Thank you so much!”
Her pretty smile grew. “I’ll let you eat then. Send me your grocery order tonight and I’ll grab it first thing in the morning before work.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay?” Kolton asked her, gesturing to me, and she looked at me like I’d probably looked at my sack of food.
“Maybe some other time. Rylan’s waiting for me back home.”
He chuckled and shook his head. “You two are just like an old couple.”
“Hey! That’s not fair. I didn’t tell you what we were doing once I got home.”
“And on that note.” Kolton took the bag right out of my hands before heading toward the kitchen. “See you tomorrow, Joss!”
She laughed as she waved, and she was still smiling as she walked out the door.
