Chapter 4

Campbell

Perhaps I had a bit too much fun teasing the nice elf Willy.

He took the tour of the workshop extremely seriously, and he clearly knew a great deal about it.

It was hard not to. His cheeks pinkened up at the slightest innuendo.

Which was silly, the man worked in a place that had a station called Dildo Row.

How could my teasing make him blush so much?

The sexy little elf was not immune to my charms, nor my muscles.

The way he raked his eyes up and down my body as I stood up for the first time had all my attention.

And when I grabbed the hem of my shirt and used it to clean off my reading glasses, I hadn’t missed the way he stared at my stomach.

I’d caught him looking, and he immediately glanced away, his cheeks rosy. So freaking adorable.

This I could work with. I’d been so unsure about coming here. I loved my brother, I really did. But I loved my life too and putting it on hold for three months to work in a sex toy factory hadn’t been on my to-do list. But now that I was here, and I’d met Willy… maybe it was a good thing.

Willy showed me Lube Lagoon, and I made note of several different varieties of lube that I wanted to try.

I hadn’t been lying about my disappointment in some of the flavors I’d sampled in Nick’s office.

Lube never tasted good in the human realm, but I thought that maybe, being made by elves and all, these might be better. I’d been so wrong.

After Lube Lagoon, we ventured off to Whipsy Lane.

Impact play had never been my thing, but I wasn’t opposed to trying anything once, as long as I had a willing participant.

I had to admit that the scent of the leather was intoxicating.

The smoothness of the flogger’s handle felt good in my hands.

Maybe this would be something I’d try out one day.

Next, we went to Dildo Row, where there was a group of elves all packaging up various packages.

I didn’t see anything there that was surprising to me.

After all, my brother had sent me plenty of the merchandise over the years, and his office was filled with samples.

Still, it was eye-opening to see how many they produced in one day.

The sheer volume they must deliver each Christmas Eve had to be mind-blowing.

We went from tame boring dildos, although the argument could be made that the dragon ones were exceptionally not boring, straight to the nipple clamps and cock rings. I’d thought my personal collection was impressive. It had nothing on the variety created here.

“Hello, sir. My name is Chester. I just wanted to introduce myself.” An adorable elf with mischief in his eyes and his intent clear came to my side, putting a hand on my biceps.

If I wasn’t mistaken, my assistant Willie didn’t really appreciate this elf coming up, based on the narrowing of his eyes and the way he clutched tightly to the tablet in his hand.

Was Chester a troublemaker or was there possibly a little jealousy brewing?

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish it was the latter.

“Well, hello, Chester, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Campbell. Nick’s best-looking brother.”

Chester chuckled a little too heartily at that. He squeezed my arm as he tipped his head back in laughter. “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask… anytime. I’m always available to help.”

Yes, as if that wasn’t totally clear. Did that normally work for him? It was doing nothing for me. Especially, not when his co-worker was standing beside him, fists at his side.

I took my brother’s handing me the responsibility of his workshop seriously, and I wasn’t going to mess that up by playing around… not with either of them. But a little flirting never hurt anyone. And if the flirting wasn’t meant to actually go anywhere, why not flirt with everyone?

“Sure thing, Chester,” I said. “I’ll bet you have tons of ideas on changes we could make around here, don’t you?”

As I spoke to him, I kept the corner of my eye on Willy. He bristled at my words. Maybe universal flirting wasn’t the best of ideas, not when I had to work side by side with Willy.

“Yes.” Chester’s hand traveled from my biceps to my chest. “So many ideas. I’ll bet you have some too. I’d love to hear them.”

Right. Shit. I needed to backpedal out of this. In my desire to rile up Willy, I was leading this other elf on. Sometimes I needed not to think with my dick.

“Perhaps we can talk about them,” I said. “Once I get a little more settled.”

“That sounds great.”

“Well, I don’t want to interrupt your day too much. I know Willy has tons of things for me to do.” I pulled away from Chester’s touch and stepped closer to Willy.

“Actually, I’m finished with your tour. You can do whatever you want.”

Oh yeah, he was pissed.

“Chester, you are on shift in the Lube Lagoon soon, you should probably go there.”

Really pissed.

Chester rolled his eyes. “Thanks, Willy, but I really don’t need you to boss me around. I know where I need to be.”

And now there were two pissed off elves. I needed to get back on track really quickly. My brother didn’t ask me to come in here and stir up trouble. And he definitely didn’t call me here to make his mate’s bestie upset.

“It was nice meeting you, Campbell.” Chester gave a little wave as he walked away.

“Why can’t you be more like that elf?” I said. “He wants to hear my ideas. How come you don’t?”

Within two seconds of deciding not to be a troublemaker, there I was, jumping back in. What was it about Willy that had me forgetting the thinking part of interactions?

Willy’s eyes went wide, and he drew in a sharp breath.

“I never said I didn’t want to hear your ideas.

I said they can wait until next year. Introducing change this late in the season is only going to introduce chaos.

We need to stick with the status quo until we get done, and then we can talk about improvements. ”

He might have been miffed at me, but he was making a very professional case.

“Every January, we have discussion time amongst all the elves to talk about new things to try. And then we put together a plan for how to implement those changes, and we have metrics of success. We don’t try whatever random idea anyone has.

It has to be thought out first, or else you’re going to end up with people getting the wrong toys or toys being made poorly, and no one wants that. ”

Well, shit. That definitely sounded reasonable and made a lot of sense.

“That’s very smart. Thank you for explaining it to me. I guess I never realized how much thought had to go into all this,” I said. “That improvement plan and measures of success, that seems really efficient.”

Willy blinked at me. He was silent for a moment.

“I mean it. Really,” I said. “I’ll table my ideas for later and discuss them with you or Nick or Percy at a more appropriate time.”

“Thank you. I mean, it wasn’t my idea. Percy and I worked on it together.”

“You know, when I got here, I only got to see the office. I don’t yet know where I’m staying.” I’d been rushed inside like I was a pop star avoiding the paparazzi and not someone coming to their first day of work. It was weird, but then again, what about this wasn’t?

“Oh. Your brother didn’t mention where you’ll be staying? Nick was always on top of everything. This wasn’t like him at all. “

“Nope. Do you think you could show me—?”

An alarm sounded, and Willy jerked his head toward the wall where the buzzer was going off. He pulled out his phone.

“I can’t right now. I have to—” He gestured toward a room labeled Anal Avenue. We hadn’t been there on the tour, but I didn’t need to know what was happening in there.

“Something I could help with?” I asked.

“No, no, everything’s fine, I promise. I’ll talk to you later. Bye!”

And just like that he was gone.

I went back to my office to check on Snowdrop and figure out where I was staying, but my mind was never very far from Willy.

He’d gotten so into my head in the short time since I met him.

Behaving around him was going to be difficult.

If he so much as hinted that he was ready for a kiss, I was there.

Snowdrop met me at the door. The pup was adorable and sweet. I needed to figure out how to get him some food that wasn’t the roast beef from the sandwich I brought with me.

“Snowdrop, Daddy’s going to leave work early today. We’ll grab you some yums and find our new home. How does that sound?”

She looked up at me and licked my chin.

“I’ll take that as a yes. Now to hunt down the information in that welcome package I got on the helicopter.” It was somewhere in the office, probably under one of the million dildos I’d been looking through.

Ten minutes later, I had it in hand and was on my way to my new temporary home with my adorable new companion with a quick stop at the shop for some kibble along the way.

This wasn’t where I expected to be a week ago, but something told me it was exactly where I belonged, and that both excited and terrified me.
