Chapter Thirty-Four

A Few Days Later

Bella

“Thanks for coming with me. You need a break.” I lace my arm through Emily’s as we walk toward Callahan’s front door.

“You’re right. I do. Between going with mom to all her appointments, keeping an eye on her, and work, it’s a lot.”

One of the Callahan sons bursts through the door with his arm around his wife’s shoulders. Sean Buchanon nods at us as Ann smiles and waves. “Hey, girls.”

We greet her and move past as Sean removes the helmet from his Harley.

“Damn….” Emily leans toward me as she grabs the door handle and yanks on it. “I want a man like that someday.”

“He’s a keeper. That’s for sure.” The sound of the band blasts past us and out into the parking lot.

“Don’t be complaining.” Emily elbows me in the ribs. “You’ve got the perfect boyfriend. And you’ve finally gotten rid of Brock for good.”

“You’re right.” With Brock in jail, I can breathe easily for a little bit. No more looking over my shoulder wondering if he’s going to slip notes on my windshield, find my phone number again, or stalk me outside of the bar. It feels great.

My attention instantly lands on Dominic and Tabitha who has her hand on his upper arm as she points to her boob. Tabitha is one of the regulars at the bar who’s always hitting on one of the guys. And apparently, for a moment, she’d been desperate enough to consider dating Brock. I can’t think too poorly of her, I did date him. But with Brock in jail, she’s back on the prowl.

“Shit.” Emily stumbles, falling into me. “I’m sure it’s nothing.”

“Oh, it’s nothing.” I straighten my shoulders and weave through the crowd with Emily tagging along behind me. This is my man, and I have the dick pic on my phone to prove it.

“Don’t freak out. Dom isn’t the kind of guy who cheats,” she huffs out as she jogs to keep up with me.

Tabitha strokes down his shirt with her index finger while managing to squeeze her boobs together until they almost pop out of the fabric. Dominic steps sideways, putting space between them while saying something to her.

Her bottom lip pokes out as her face turns red. But instead of giving him the space he clearly asked for, she doubles down and presses closer while laying her hand on his chest.

Bitch. She’s always hanging out at the bar, flirting with my brothers and their friends.

Dominic catches my eye and smiles. God, I love the way his eyes light up when he sees me.

“Dom,” Tabitha whines while cupping his face, drawing his attention back to her. “I was talking to you. When can you get me in your chair? I’ve been dying to get one of those Dom tats. If you’d rather it was in a more intimate spot, I can switch from my breast to under the panties.” She bats her eyelashes, and I nearly lose my lunch.

“You’re going to have to remove your hand from my boyfriend.” I grip her fingers before she realizes I’m behind her. Her eyes bulge as she squeals in pain. Hey, I have two older brothers, I know how to protect myself if needed. Or if someone is touching my man.

“Hello, Wildflower.” Dom winks as I drop my hand from Tabitha’s fingers. I brace my shoulders. I’ve never gotten into a fight before, but I will if I need to.

“Watch it,” she spits out and lurches toward me. Dominic braces his arm between us, blocking her from touching me.

“I told you I wasn’t interested, and this wasn’t the place to discuss business. I’m taken, and I’m not in the market for cheap hookups.”

“Cheap!” Her eyes narrow into slits. “I’m not cheap.”

“Could’ve fooled me,” I scoff as Emily laughs and rolls her eyes.

“You’re such a bitch.” Tabitha’s hands ball into fists at her sides.

“Be careful. I wouldn’t want to embarrass you in front of everyone.”

“You aren’t worth it.” She spins on her heel and marches off.

Emily smirks. “I thought you were going to need a tag team partner there for a second. And here I thought you invited me out for a nice, relaxing evening. Not to a street brawl.”

I laugh and pull her to my side. “With me, you never know what you’re getting. Dominic brings out my possessive side.”

As he leans against the bar top with his arms braced over his chest, he says, “You know I’m not interested in her, right?”

“Of course, I know that because if you were, I’d cut your balls off.”

“So vicious.” He yanks me to him. I settle against his hard body and sigh. Not only does he smell delicious and look at me like I’m the only woman in the room, but he also feels like home.

“Great,” Emily mutters to herself.

“You aren’t the third wheel. I promise.” I spin on my heel, but she’s not looking in our direction. Her attention is fixed on something on the other side of the bar. Jake and Tabitha. Shit. Jake leans down and says something to Tabitha, causing her to smile.

“He’s disgusting.” Emily shakes her head in disbelief. “I’ve got to go. All of a sudden, I’m feeling nauseous.”

Tabitha lays her hand on Jake’s chest. When he grabs her fingers, Emily stomps off and disappears into the crowd.

“Well, this is kind of a bummer.” Dominic wraps his arms around me, surrounding me with his warmth. “I was hoping that Emily and Jake could work out their issues so that we’d have someone to double date with since all the guys are confirmed bachelors.”

“I guess it’s just us.” My heart hurts for my friend because as much as she’s denied her attraction to Jake, it’s impossible to ignore. I lace my arms around Dominic’s neck and drown in his brown eyes. “Luckily, I’m not tired of you yet. Maybe by the time I am, one of my brothers will be dating someone I get along with.”

He arches an eyebrow as his hands roam over my back. “How long will it be until you get tired of me?”

“I don’t think that’s going to happen in the next twenty or thirty years.”

He chuckles as his eyes dance with laughter. “Your brothers will be relieved to hear that. It’ll give them plenty of time to keep sowing those wild oats.”

I roll my eyes. “One day soon, they’re going to eat those words and wish they’d never said them.

“I agree.” Dominic kisses my forehead. “When they’re all in on a girl, and she drops them to the curb because of their no-strings attached reputation. They’re going to regret it.”

“Just like you?”

“I never said I didn’t want a relationship. I knew I wanted one. I just couldn’t have the girl, so I ignored my dreams until you knocked me over the head and forced me to take you home.” Heat flows through me at the look of desire in his eyes. “And then I couldn’t keep my hands off you another second.”

“You’re too perfect.”

“Wildflower….” He lowers his head until his lips are next to my ear. The puff of breath that comes out of his mouth sends a shiver along my spine. God, I want this man so bad. “You’re the one that’s perfect.” His low tone makes me forget everyone else in the bar. It’s just the two of us. I arch into his erection and bite my lower lip.

“I think I’d like that perfect body of yours all over mine. What do you say?”

He trails his lips along my ear and down to my jaw. “I say, let’s go because I miss my sweet pussy.” I press harder into his erection, feeling the bars on his cock poking into my belly. “I can’t wait to drown in your honey. To make you come on my tongue. To start over and make you come on my fingers. And then fill you with my dick until you’re so full that you can’t stop the walls of your pussy from pulsating and clinging to me, milking my cock as I come deep inside of you.”

“You need to stop before I come right here.” I shudder from head to toe while stepping back to put some much-needed space between us. I’ve never been one for public displays of sex, but with Dominic, I don’t feel that same level of restraint weighing me down. “You have no idea how many times I’ve looked at my phone today and drooled over your dick pic.”

“It was a good one, wasn’t it?” The feral heat in his eyes sends me into overdrive. I need him. Now.

“Bathroom? Alley? Or pickup?”

“All three.” He laces his fingers through mine. “We’ll start in the bathroom.”

Oh, my God. Heat floods my face. This isn’t happening. I stumble over my shoes, barely keeping upright when Jake stops in front of us. “Where’s Emily?”

“She left.” Dominic shrugs.

Jake’s eyes narrow as he bites out, “With who?”

“Someone who was not hooking up with Tabitha.” Yes, it’s catty, but Emily is one of my best friends. She deserves better. My shoulders slump as I sigh. There’s no reason to be angry with Jake. He’s never said he was interested in my friend.

“It’s a good thing you gave Dom the benefit of the doubt because I saw her hanging all over him when you walked in.” His eyes flash with anger. “But I guess Emily is–”

“Stop.” I brace my hand on his chest. “You’re mad, so I’d recommend you not say anything else. I don’t want you to regret it.”

“Right.” His jaw is tight as he brushes past us and grabs the bartender’s attention.
