Chapter 16
It was quiz night at HEA Towers and Molly was really looking forward to it. The Mr and Mrs style Q you want kids, preferably at least two; your eyes light up when you talk about your parents.’ Surprise flickered across her face and he held her gaze as he kept going. ‘You hate your job but something is holding you back from moving on, and I think it’s a lack of confidence which I don’t get because you can talk to anyone and everyone. You love the arts, and doodle whenever you’re in reach of a pen. You’ve somehow got it into your head that your body is less than perfect when in my eyes it’s the most perfect body I’ve ever seen.’ He watched her swallow and though she didn’t look at him, he took some satisfaction in the way her cheeks reddened and a small smile hovered on her mouth.
‘Sooooo, they didn’t ask the right questions?’ She said finally.
‘So, it takes more than knowing someone’s favourite colour and film to actually know them.’ Her green eyes glittered back at him and he felt his heart swell. ‘I think I know you more than you realise. And I want to get to know even more of you.’
Before she could answer, they were interrupted by Marcus and Maya, but he knew from the way she kept giving him sideways glances for the rest of the evening that he’d at least made her think.
