Chapter 17
Last Sunday my Grannie left on a journey.
I wanted her to at least wait until after Easter so she could smell the new flowers that bloom about that time.
And she could’ve sat on the porch and listened to the bird’s sweet singing early in the morning.
But SHE was the one who gave me the independent streak I have, and I HAD begged that she stay for Christmas and then Valentine’s Day. So, SHE decided to leave and she did!
When I was a little girl Grannie and I went to church together. Because she was an adult and I was never one to be noted for bravery above and beyond the call of duty, she was my protection. Since she was blind, I was her eyes.
