Cinnamon Rolls #8

I snarled at her which silenced the lunchroom.

Lisa shouted, “HOW DARE YOU! You’ll have to spend…

” I cut her off, “I’m not spending a DAMN DIME ON YOU!

We are brOKEN up! I can kiss anyone I want.

Get a clue! I may not like Justin, but damn.

He’s literally holding you while you pine over me.

I don’t want you. We’re over.” Lisa wailed.

Immy was still looking at her phone, but I was done waiting. I let Channing come forward to find our mate. Someone whispered, “Holy shit. Keaton is really done this time. That felt so official.” The pack link was probably on fire.

I took off, catching Katie’s scent outside the main office, but I could tell she wasn’t there.

I went back by her locker, but again she was gone.

Immy linked me, “Katie’s in our first period classroom.

” I didn’t bother asking where that was because I caught my mate’s scent so strongly outside the classroom in question.

I opened the door and found my mate sitting alone. Katie looked up, surprised. My mate looked like she had been crying. My heart felt like it was being ripped out my chest. Why did she cry? Channing demanded, “Make everything better right now.”

Before I could say anything, a voice came over the intercom, “Keaton Daniels and Lisa Kipner come to the front office. Keaton Daniels and Lisa Kipner come to the front office.” Katie offered me a soft smile before I turned to leave.

Then my mate whispered, “Are you ok, Key?” I turned around answering, “I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” Channing admitted, “I’m not sure.” My mate stood up and gently touched my face. I barely stopped myself from moaning at her touch.

Channing practically rolled over in my head. Katie apologized, “Sorry. I always feel sparks when I touch you. It must be very statically charged around here. Your eye might bruise from where Lisa hit you.” That’s why Katie was crying?

Channing purred, “Mate is worried about us. She’s so adorable.

” I laughed assuring my mate, “I barely felt it. It’s not going to bruise, trust me.

” I leaned forward and inhaled her scent.

I whispered, “I’ll see you later. Ok?” Katie looked up into my eyes quietly replying, “Ok.” I squeezed her hand and walked out into the hall.

Immy was waiting right outside the classroom. She didn’t say anything, but she was beaming with happiness. Immy made a heart with her fingers. I rolled my eyes at her and made tracks to the front office. Keith was waiting up front for me.

I asked, “Did you get called in too?” Keith said, “Yeah, no. I’m here to tell you that Mom and Dad are on the way.” I asked, “Why?” Keith sighed, “We go to school with humans, Keaton.” I stared at him, “So?”

We walked into the office together where my ex was already waiting. Lisa glared at me. I asked, “What is your problem now?” The assistant principal’s ushered me into an office before Lisa could reply. We waited ten minutes before our parents arrived with Emmett and Alexandria. Oh shit.

I immediately stated, “I didn’t do anything.” The principal came into the office with Lisa and her parents. Emmett linked, “You do understand you can link me.” I answered, “Of course I do.” My big brother shot me an annoyed look. WHAT?!

Channing said, “I’m stoically ignoring all their anger because I am happy and thinking about mate. I’m ignoring all the snarking links.” Ok, so my wolf wasn’t going to be able to help me out here. The principal took a seat at his desk.

The man stated, “This school has a zero tolerance on violence and bullying. It was reported to the administration that an altercation took place in the cafeteria this morning. There were videos and multiple witness statements.” Oh shit. Channing cackled in my head.

The principal continued, “Lisa, you are being given in school suspension, and you will be attending anger management classes.” Lisa yelled, “That’s not fair!

” The principal angrily said, “Be glad you are not getting expelled. Do not ever strike a student in this school again.” Channing was wheezing he was laughing so hard.

Mom spoke up, “I’m sorry, can someone catch us up? We just got a call that there was a situation with our son, and we needed to come down here. Are you saying Lisa hit Keaton?” That was not a good tone. That was my mom’s ‘I’m about to lose my shit and beat someone up’ tone.

The principal answered, “Lisa punched Keaton in the face and screamed at him about cheating on her. In front of a cafeteria full of students. After it was initially reported, we called in several students to confirm the event.”

“Everyone had the same story which doesn’t often happen, but they all said the same thing. Several had a video of it. Miss Kipner, get out of my office and report to I.S.S.” Emmett sent my ex a withering look as she left. Alexandria’s glare was no better.

Lisa’s parents looked mortified as they got up and left quickly.

The principal turned to me before he sat back in his chair.

Channing asked, “Can we go now? I want to see mate again.” The principal addressed me, “It’s my understanding you and Miss Kipner were in a relationship.

” Since she said I cheated on her, that would be clear.

I clarified, “The key word there is ‘were.’ We broke up.” The principal nodded, “I want you to speak with the school counselor twice a week.” I asked, “What? Why?” The principal answered, “Because I’m worried you were in a physically abusive relationship.” I stared at him.

The man added, “Haley Conners started an initiative school wide for fully licensed therapists to be available to students.” I scoffed, “I know that, she my godmother.” The principal said, “I’m aware you are her godson and to be blunt she’s scary when she’s angry.

So, you talking to someone can’t hurt. I can’t make you do that at home, but my assistant looked up your schedule.

Which means I know you have a free period. ”

“That period is now filled with your counselor on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please know this office is open to you at any time. If you do not feel safe with Miss Kipner on the premises, we can expel her. It would not bother me in the slightest.”

I told him, “That’s not necessary.” Lisa didn’t scare me. Channing snorted, “Who cares about her anymore? I want to go see mate.” My wolf kept saying that and I agreed. Hell, I was going to tell Emmett when I got home Lisa hit me. I sighed, “Alright.”

The principal gave me my new schedule, and a pass for class. Dad announced, “I’d like to speak to my son outside before we leave.” Great. The principal nodded, “Of course.” Keith linked me, “You’re in trouble.” I reiterated, “I didn’t do anything! I was literally minding my own business.”

My family walked outside in silence. The second we were far enough away that no one could hear us, mom exploded, “That AWFUL horrendous bitch hit our son, Chase. OUR SON! She punched him!” Dad growled, “I know, Sweetheart. I’m just as pissed off about it.”

Emmett growled, “What the fuck, Keaton?!” I said, “I was going to tell you when I got home. It wasn’t a big deal.” Mom made some noise of utter exasperation. Emmett ordered, “You link me or text me when that shit happens. Especially when it’s around fucking humans!”

Keith linked, “I think Katie told the front office, little brother.” I was not bringing my mate into this. Emmett asked, “How the FUCK did Lisa get the drop on you? You just spent half the year training.” Alexandria touched Emmett’s arm.

I admitted, “I wasn’t paying attention to her.

” Emmett snorted, “Clearly.” Dad spoke, “Emmett.” Emmett shouted, “No, there will be no saying of Emmett with that tone. Lisa never should’ve been able to land a hit on Keaton.

” I understood the real problem here now that my brother had said that since my WOLF WASN’T HELPING!

Channing snorted, “Your wolf wants to see mate again.” I already knew that. I told my big brother, “Emmett, it didn’t even hurt. Hell, I barely felt it. There’s nothing for Channing to heal nor was there. I’m ok.” Emmett huffed, “Fine.” He gave me a hug.

My big brother linked, “If you let anyone land a hit on you the rest of the school year, I’ll have you running so many laps it won’t even be funny.

” I laughed, “Alright.” Channing said, “That will not happen because I plan to busy with mate.” I teased, “That’s a shocking revelation given your ‘go see mate’ rhetoric. ” Channing chuckled.

Dad asked, “How did Lisa manage to hit you?” Keith snorted. Mom asked, “What?” I sighed, “I was…” I trailed off then admitted, “looking at the new girl.” Alexandria started laughing. Dad hummed, “To clarify, you got punched in the face because you were checking out the new girl?”

Emmett muttered, “I hope she’s pretty.” I answered, “She’s devastatingly gorgeous.” Dad’s eyebrows rose into his hairline while Emmett’s jaw dropped. Keith joined in, “She is pretty and just my twin’s type. Actually, she’ll be a lot of people’s types.”

I growled at him in our link. Mom asked, “Do you like the new girl, Keaton?” I decided to go with being somewhat honest, “I do. I’m going to date her.” All their eyebrows raised and my dad’s eyes widened. Emmett was blinking far too quickly.

Keith linked me, “Subtle, little bro.” Mom again asked a question, “Would this be Immy’s new friend Katie?” I nodded. Dad questioned, “Is there anything else you want to share, Keaton?” I answered, “No.” All of them frowned.

Emmett said, “Well, I need you in my office right after school.” I winced, “I’m can’t because I’ll be busy. Immy promised Katie that I’d give her driving lessons, and we all know I can’t make Immy break a promise.” Dad looked at me like he’d never seen me before.

Keith linked, “That was so smooth. Possibly too smooth for the old man and our big brother.” I didn’t break eye contact with Emmett to glance at our dad again. Eventually Emmett agreed, “Fine. After dinner then.” Channing pouted in my head.
