Revelations #11

I teased, “Better? Besides, I was actually at a gym. My friends and song boy rented out this place with a rock climbing wall, gymnastics equipment, and tunnels.” Cython snorted, “Let’s go with that’s why her hair looked that way.”

Caspian cleared his throat, “Happy Birthday, Odette.” They all began to sing to me, and no one could wipe the grin off my face if they tried. I grinned, “Yeah, it’s been a great birthday so far. It had a very strange start though.”

Cython groaned, “Please know I cringe asking why, but I find I must.” I waved, “Nothing like that. I have the world’s most vivid imagination.

” All my brothers leaned in. Caspian asked, “Do you?” I nodded, “Yeah, hands down I win the creativity prize. I saw some people I know but not in the present.”

Trit hummed, “Do go on.” I explained, “This crazy girl, my song boy’s ex, she was younger and talking about Alphas Kings, Princess, and Harpies.

As well as plots against my boyfriend’s family because of someone in another family.

Then there was a super cute couple I have heard of but never seen or met.

She was unconscious and he made a beautiful speech. ”

“Then he was sedated by his brother all while I wanted to comfort them both. We looked like we could be related. Oh, and then I found out that horrible, talking to Harpies, bitch fed my song boy her blood and tears. Like a psycho.”

Their eyes widened. I yelled, “Wait! Not just her blood either. Someone else’s. My song boy’s ex was whispering awful things in some field. I don’t know how she did that because she was whispering against paper. She gave him this awful report full of lies.”

I nearly growled, “She hurt his feelings then had the audacity to stalk me. Today of all days. I kicked her ass. I might need mob tips on how to get away with her murder. I’m ready to get some cement and encase her feet in it.”

“I could get behind that for her death. I need these getting away with murder lessons because she’s gotta go. She’s like a weird voodoo evil person. There were also these people, that were in a prison, talking about some woman, but I didn’t know them. That’s really what I’ve got.”

They stared at me. I asked, “What? Is the look about the cement shoes? In my books, Liam said he needed a good reason to kill someone, but I swear she’s horrible!” Caspian said, “We believe you. I thought she needed to die the first time you mentioned her.”

I snorted, “We are so murder-y, but it has to count for something we are right about her needing to die.” Caspian changed the subject “So, you saw scenes from the past.” I snorted, “Or, and hear me out, I have an active imagination and clearly heard some stories and my mind crafted them. I saw this guy who told me not to tell people I did this. Well, he said I could tell you.”

Caspian’s eyes narrowed, “What was his name?” I shrugged, “I don’t think he said. Oh! I saw myself as…” I trailed of then winced, “I want to say a Mermaid…” They hissed, as did Sassy. I laughed, “I hissed at myself then too. So, I guess it’s not a Mermaid.”

Caspian confirmed, “No, it’s not.” Well then. I pursed my lips, “Her hair is longer, but she looks like me. I’ve decided it was Sassy. She gave me this green seashell crown, you’d love it.” Caspian smiled, “I’m sure I would.”

Then, to my shock, my brother held up a crown. I gasped, “That’s it! How did…?” Caspian cut me off, “I had it made for you when I found out you existed.” How the fudge sticks did I know that? I must have unconsciously seen it in their home when I was there. That was obviously how I knew.

Caspian repeated, “Happy Birthday, little sister.” I smiled, “Thanks again.” Noxus came into frame happily yelling, “Happy birthday, beautiful girl!” He held up several presents.

I laughed, “What did you do?” Noxus winked, “I did not do it alone. When we find you, you have so many presents to open.”

My stepfather picked up the computer and showed me the room. It was literally full of presents. I gasped, “You guys! What did you do?” They all rubbed the back of their heads. Caspian reasoned, “We missed a lot of birthdays.”

I laughed, “Well, this one has been for the record books. Plus, you didn’t miss much I didn’t ever celebrate.

” Trit commented, “What a pretty necklace.” I smiled, “It’s from my song boy.

He made it, the man is kind of a jack of all trades.

I spent the day with most of his siblings, a family that he’s close with, and their significant others. I had cake, it was amazing.”

Caspian smiled, “I’m glad, you deserve the best.” I heard a knock on my door. I said, “I’ve got to go.” Caspian nodded, “Of course, I’ll find you soon little sister.” I smiled, “I hope so. It was part of my birthday wish to see you guys in person.”

I was closing my laptop when I heard Cython say, “She’s already seeing the past, we need to train her.” I closed the laptop and shrugged. Weird. Maybe they thought they were some kind of psychic. I’d lived in New York and there were psychics on almost every corner.

I opened my door and smiled greeting, “Hi, Ken.” The building manager smiled, “Happy Birthday.” Then handed me a wrapped box. I said, “You shouldn’t have.” He moved aside and I saw a whole cart of presents.

I gasped, “KEN!” The building manager laughed, “These are from Jarchi and your mom.” I snorted, “They are from him. I doubt my mom even remembers my birthday. She’s gotten it wrong every move we made. I think she actually thinks it’s the seventeenth.”

Ken frowned, “Well, that’s….” I interrupted, “It’s fine. I don’t really even know my mom that well or like her.” Ken nodded, “That present I handed you is from me. I’ll bring Jarchi’s presents inside.” I smiled, “Thanks.”

I opened Ken’s present. It was a stunning picture of black wolf. I stared at it, “I think I met this wolf in the woods. No, that’s crazy, right?” Ken laughed, “It’s not crazy. There are a lot of wolves out there. I’m a bit of an amateur photographer.”

I looked up, “You took this picture?” Ken nodded.

I smiled and looked for a hammer and nail to put it up with.

I opened a drawer knowing it couldn’t possibly be in.

I’d never seen it there before, but there it was.

I stared at it. Did that appear because I wanted it?

I rubbed my head because that was crazy.

How would a drawer respond to my thoughts and wants?

I put the picture up in the main room. I boasted, “He looks good there, doesn’t he? Like he’s guarding the place.” Ken smiled, “He does guard the place.” I nodded. Jarchi’s presents were a spring wardrobe. That man was very into fashion. Or his daughters were.

Tatum came over. I said, “Hey girl, we should probably go for a walk.” Ken said, “I took her out a few times, but she’d probably love a walk.” I told him, “If Keaton beats me back just tell him I took Tatum for out.” Ken nodded.

I grabbed Tatum’s leash and took off. I found myself stopping to get Rolfe some food.

He’d always be my rabies wolf, but he did need a name.

I was sure I’d heard him today. I shook myself again because I was really letting my imagination run away from me.

I could not tell who a wolf was by their howl.

I made my way to our spot. I called, “Rolfe, I left you some food.” He came out looking sad. I frowned, “Are you ok, Rolfe?” He huffed and sat down. I walked over to my Rabies wolf and Tatum sat beside him.

I asked, “What’s wrong, boy?” Rolfe looked at me sorrowfully.

I sighed, “Wolves are pack creatures. So, you probably miss your pack. Well, my building manager says there are wolves around here. Maybe you could join their pack. I’ve seen a bunch of black wolves around here, I bet they’d like you. ” Rolfe whined as if he didn’t agree.

I said, “Well, if they are being jerks then I’ll be here for you. I know I’m not around much, but I could come out here some mornings so we could run together. You’d be much faster, but I could bring Tatum. We could be a little pack of three.” Rolfe instantly perked up.

I smiled, “We’ll do that then. I’ll bring Tatum here for morning runs. We can all run. Ok?” He nodded. I urged, “Eat your food, Rolfe.” My rabies wolf huffed but went over and ate his food. I told him, “I need to get back, but I have another friend out here I need you to keep an eye out for.”

Rolfe titled his head. I explained, “His name is Jag. He’s human like me, so don’t growl or bite him if you see him. Jag is staying off the radar, so I don’t get to see him often. I’m not even sure I’m a good friend to him.”

I winced, “Ok, I’m probably not. In my defense, I’ve never really had friends. I didn’t have any for a long time, then they were ripped away from me. Now, I have more. The point is just look out for Jag if you see him. Ok?”

The wolf nodded very seriously and looked grateful. I rubbed between his ears. I said, “You’re not scary. Maybe you just have some disorder that has your eyes red, and don’t actually have rabies.” Rolfe huffed as if offended.

I nudged him, “Hey, I said you might not have rabies. That’s pretty good.” Rolfe rolled his eyes. I picked up Tatum’s leash and left. I called, “Think about finding those black wolves. I bet they’d let you into their pack.” Rolfe hung his head.

I assured him, “They’d be crazy not to have you join. You’re great and very loyal. You’ve helped me a lot. So, if you need me to give them what for, I will. The prettiest one liked me.” That amused Rolfe deeply.

I walked away feeling a bit like I’d lost it, but I think I helped Rolfe. At least I hope I did, since I essentially just told a wolf I’d be a reference for him. Sassy was happily humming a tune and Tatum had some pep in her step.
