817 THE WAR OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT (2)

Iris had heard this annoying crying sound from beneath the ground, where they buried a certain box, because the sound of it was really bothersome.

Using her black wisp, Iris dug it out, while the lycan and Decratic still engaged in a fierce battle on their own.

Once the box was beneath her feet, Iris used the same black wisp to open it, which revealed a gruesome sight, where you could see a head!

Someone should have died when their head was severed completely from their body, but thanked to the black magic that Dexter induced on Aria, she was still very much alive.

Aria’s scream even more deafening when she saw Iris. The luna was staring down at her. A condescending look burned her dark eyes.

"IRIS! I CURSE YOU! I CURSE YOU! YOU DON’T DESERVE TO LIVE!" The head screamed. You wouldn’t recognize it was Aria, because her face was no longer recognizable.

For most of the people, this must be the most dreadful thing that they had ever witnessed, but Iris didn’t show any indication of it, aside from disgusting look on her cold face, there was nothing else she felt.

"YOUR BABIES ARE DEAD! THEY ARE DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU! BECAUSE YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE A MOTHER!

" Because Aria couldn’t hurt Iris physically, she hurt her by using her words.

"YOUR BABIES ARE DEAD AND ALL OF THAT WAS YOUR FAULT! YOU DON’T DESERVE TO HAVE A BABY!

YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE WITH CANE! YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE A MOTHER! YOU ARE THE MOST HORRIBLE MOTHER!"

Only if Iris still had her divine power, a single touch from her would be able to make Aria died in peace, something that she craved so much. This life was meaningless, but Dexter didn’t let her to have her peace, as he was persistent enough to keep her alive.

"WHAT KIND OF MOTHER, WHO LET THEIR BABIES DIED?! THE DEATH OF YOUR BABIES IS YOUR FAULT! YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE A MOTHER!"

Iris’s expression didn’t change when she bent her body and grabbed the head by its hair and raised it, as she let Aria kept screaming and cursing her for being a bad mother. Her words became so hard to hear and crueler by each word she spat out.

Iris raised the head high enough for Dexter to see and the craziness in his eyes turned into madness, as the dragon flew toward her and was ready to burn her down completely, along with Aria’s head.

"NO!" Zale screamed, which noticed Lou about what was going to happen.

"Shit!" Lou cursed under his breath, he watched in horror when the dragon breathed fire at Iris.

It would be too late for him to save her, there was no way Lou would be able to reach Iris in time and save her life, let alone Zale, who currently had turned into his beast and dashed toward the luna.

The young boy had made a promise before that he would sacrifice himself to save the luna. He would throw himself against monsters if it could save her and now, he proved his words.

The small beast rushed toward the luna, thinking he could block the fire, despite the fact it was impossible. The fire would burn the two of them for good.

The night sky turned bright once again when the fire from the dragon coiled in the air, it showed how much fire that could burn a single woman, but before the flame could touch her, there was this transparent shield that blocked it.

As if the fire hit a wall and the barrier managed to keep Iris saved from harm way, while Zale stood in front of her in his beast form and the head in her hand was still screaming like a banshee. Aria’s wail mixed with the thunderous sound from the dragon’s roar.

Even though the flames couldn’t reach her, but the heat of it burned the seams of Iris’s dress, her face turned very red, still she didn’t even blink her eyes.

Watching this, Decratic smirked triumphantly. He knew Iris would be able to ward off the dragon’s fire. Losing her divine power didn’t mean she lost her power at all, it only turned her power became vicious.

The ground was shaking when the dragon landed, made a few people toppled to the ground and tremble in fear and when the dragon flapped its wings, all of the monsters, warriors and knights flew away like dry leaves.

Lou, who was at the outside of Iris’s protection shield was flown a few meters away and kept cursing, because his back hit a big rock and dust covered his face, while Zale was safe enough, since he was standing so close with Iris and was within her protection spell.

It lasted for more than two minutes, but the damage that this dragon had done, even though the target was Iris, was unthinkable.

The dragon had put Cane’s people in extreme disadvantage.

Their campsite was no more, right now it was only a bare ground, where all kind of creatures tried to kill the shifters and knights.

It was hard for the knights to fight in this kind of battle, since they didn’t have a great healing ability, which meant, once they were injured, they would most likely die. Their speed couldn’t even be compared to most of the monsters.

Therefore, the shifters took the frontline to fight, but in this chaotic situation, it was almost impossible to be in order, neither they had time to organize their form.

But then, the dragon suddenly stopped attacking Iris and flew to the air, as the creature wailed in pain.

Apparently, the lycan managed to climb on top of its back and created a hole on its neck when the dragon landed on the ground. The cursed creature took this opportunity to make a close contact, enough to hurt the dragon.

However, the wound was not enough to take down the dragon and the lycan’s enemy was not this creature, because it let Decratic out of the hook and this devil managed to approach Iris without any intervention, as the dragon flew away.

"Na..." Decratic called her name intimately. "You are here. Finally, after all this time..."

Iris stared at Decratic and threw Aria’s head toward him, in which the devil caught it in time, but the moment he touched it, the head melted like a block of ice under the scorching sunlight, leaving small chunk of flashes and blood on the ground and the sound of Aria’s scream finally vanished.

Aria didn’t have any form to be called as a living being, yet it was still unsure, whether she was still alive or not. But, that was the least of other people’s concern.

"Come here, I will free you from the pain." Decratic stretched out his hand and smiled softly at Iris. He liked the color of darkness that tainted Iris’s eyes. "Come here and take my hand. I will make your suffering ended."

It was Zale, who reacted first. The beast jumped forward and bit down Decratic’s hand, so hard he actually tore it.

The beast growled and spat Decratic’s hand, but the devil didn’t seem to be bothered by it. He didn’t even flinch in pain, because the next thing that happened was; he grew his hand back, which left the beast growled even more ferociously.

By this time, the light of the sun could be seen in the horizon, illuminated the bloody ground, where blood of shifters, knights and monsters mixed together.

On the other hand, Lou finally managed to kill the monsters that came to him and try to approach Iris when the luna stretched out her hand, she was actually going to take Decratic’s offer.

"NO! What are you doing?!" Lou roared, he hastened his pace to prevent Iris from touching Decratic, but it was too late.

Iris grabbed Decratic’s hand and the malice in her eyes turned into a strong killing intention.

"Die!" Iris hissed viciously, as black wisp surrounded the two of them and strong gust of wind swirled around them two.

The wind was strong enough to lift dust, rocks and all the things around them. It almost felt like Iris and Decratic were in the center of the eye of the storm.

"Get away from here!" Lou went to approach Zale instead, but the two of them were being thrown because of the strong whirlwind. This was as strong as when the dragon flapped its monstrous wings. "Damn it! What now?! Where is Cane?!"

Lou didn’t have any idea what to do right now, as he grabbed a big rock and hid behind it with a small beast in his arms. He held the beast tightly, so it wouldn’t be blown away by the wind.

"Stop struggling, okay?! Or I will kick your ass!" He reprimanded Zale, who was trying to escape his clutch. If this small beast was blown away, there was a high chance, he would hit a big rock. With how strong the wind was, it was very possible Zale would have a few broken bones or even died.

The small beast growled, but it stopped struggling against him.

"Shift into your human form, so you can complain!" Lou chided in annoyance. He was not here to take care of this little brat.

The merchant tried to see what happened between Iris and Decratic, but it was too hard when his vision was blurred because of the dust and rocks that swirled around them, more so, there was this black wisp that ran so wild, like thousand of vicious snakes that surrounded the two of them.

In the sky, the dragon writhed in pain as the lycan made several holes in its body and it was unsure since when a beast climbed onto its body to fight with Dexter. The beast was gray in color, which was none other than Redmond.

He must have stolen the opportunity to climb the dragon’s back when it landed on the ground.

The dragon was a majestic creature, but still it had its own weaknesses and Dexter was having a hard time to ward off Redmond’s attack, while keeping himself on the back of the dragon. He needed to control this creature! He had spent days with it and he wouldn’t fail now!

The grey beast dug its claw very deep into the dragon’s back, to prevent himself from falling, as its viciously found an opportunity to topple down Dexter.

However, unfortunately for Redmond, one of the curses from Dexter hit him hard and fell from the sky. The beast shifted mid air into his human form, because the curse was strong enough, which made Redmond unable to sustain his beast form.

Seeing that, Eros in his beast form, immediately rushed toward Redmond and tried to give him a soft landing by using his own body, but it was not enough, because it hurt the two of them, while the dragon started to burn everything in his agony to shake off the lycan from its back.

"Damn it! You are so heavy!" Eros grunted, as he moved his body and checked on Redmond, he had shifted into his human form and watched the flames before his eyes. He was stunned for a second. "I have never seen a lot of fire like this before..." he muttered to himself.

The strong wind that was created from where Iris and Decratic met, flamed the fire from the dragon, which made the fire spread so fast and burned everything in its wake.

"Come on! Wake up, Red!" Eros slapped Redmond’s face to wake him up. "We need to get out of here, or else, we will be roasted!" He tried to get Redmond on his feet, as the latter grunted in pain.

Whatever the curse that Dexter gave to Redmond, it caused him so much pain, as his skin cracked and started flaking off.
