834 ABBY’S DECISION
The word that Iris said about how Cane still thought of him like a father hit him hard. He saw Cane as his best friend’s son and for him to look up to him like that sent a mixed feeling in his mind.
"I did it because of that. I don’t need anything else." Iris grabbed Cane’s hand. "Your son will be fine and if you kept insisting to side with Kellan, that’s on you. With this, my mate can sincerely fight you."
Iris could see how this revelation shocked alpha Derick, for them not to demand anything from him. Cane was right about the reaction that alpha Derick would have with the way they responded after saving Cezi’s life.
"With this, you owed us, but we don’t owe you anything, so when the time came and you were still unable to see the truth, there is no regret."
After Iris’s last word, Cane took Iris with him, he himself didn’t say anything, but instead, it gave a great impact on alpha Derick, as he could only stood there, speechless out of his mind.
Later on, inside the carriage, Iris asked more detail about Cane’s decision not to take this opportunity to get alpha Derick on their side.
"We can demand him to take our side and do something with Kellan’s warriors." In Iris’s mind in that way, it would be an easy access for them to reach alpha Colter.
However, Cane had different opinion. "He will only resent me if I did that. Alpha Derick is still in the state where he respects and adores him so much, for the alpha to betray him will give him an internal conflict."
Cane pulled Iris toward her and caressed her cheeks, he liked the fire in her eyes, she looked so alive and well.
"I don’t want to have someone who harbored resentment by my side, Iris.
Having someone like that, will only put you in great danger.
" Keeping someone like that would only put you in disadvantage, since it would be hard to judge, where they stood.
"You saw it yourself, Cezi will be the key for this. "
If they wanted to get alpha Derick and Celestial Moon pack to their side, alpha Derick had to open his eyes to the truth and willingly get away from Kellan’s clutch.
And for that, Cezi’s role in this game was critical.
Cane had guessed it that after his meeting with Cezi, it had left doubt on him about Kellan and what Iris saw when she healed him confirmed that.
"Alpha Derick loves his children. He will not believe me if I presented the evidence under his nose because in his eyes, I am the enemy of the person he respected, but it will be different story if the evidence was presented by his own children."
With Cane didn’t demand anything from alpha Derick, it would leave him in a complicated position and made him restless, while Cezi would do the rest.
Iris thought about that and once again, she was amazed with the way Cane handled thing. He thought everything ahead. He appeared genuine to help, but as it turned out, he was anything but sincere.
"You are playing a long game," Iris stated and Cane pinched her chin, so she looked at him. "You make other people do your bid."
"Yes, I did." Cane put less effort to gain a massive benefit and manipulated people and situation to fit into his plan.
Iris narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips. "You know what? You are a very cruel person."
Cane didn’t seem offended with what Iris said, if anything, it seemed he enjoyed this conversation with her. "Why do you think so?"
Iris thought about it for a while and then came with an analogy.
"If you don’t like something, you will not immediately kill it.
Hm..." She bit her lip to think of an imaginary situation.
"If you don’t like a frog, you will not immediately kill it, but you will approach it, caress it and put the frog inside a pot, let it swims, but if you saw there is no more benefit from the frog, you will set fire under the pot and let the frog boiled to death. "
Cane laughed with Iris’s analogy, he found joy to hear her imaginary situation and kissed her lips. Iris let him kissed her until both of them panted.
"I am sure, you have no scrupulous to kill alpha Derick in battle, neither you will feel guilty." Iris knew what she said was right when she saw how bright Cane’s eyes were. "You only try this method because he still can benefit you."
Cane pushed her down and hovered above her, he put his palm against her breast and squeezed it lightly.
"Sometime, it’s not good to be too smart, love." Cane then kissed her harder, leaving all the warriors around the carriage flustered.
"There they are, having it again!" Ethan grumbled in low voice, while Aliana tried to ignore the noises sound from inside the carriage from the alpha and the luna.
Well, they were happy for the two of them, especially after what they had gone through, but they would be grateful if they could tone it down a little bit for their sanity. Thank you.
=============================
What Iris said was right, Cezi’s condition improved tremendously and a week later, he woke up for the first time.
All this time, alpha Derick hid Cezi’s progress from prince Kellan, even though he didn’t know why he did this. Maybe because he didn’t want the prince to question him of how Cezi could fight the disease.
But, what helped the alpha the most was the fact the prince had never really visited Cezi, he only asked about his condition and believed whatever alpha Derick told him. Therefore, it made it easier for alpha Derick to lie.
Not to mention the prince was too busy to prepare the warriors to go to the battle with alpha Colter’s warriors.
The magic users with them could feel the barrier weakened and they were confident they could break through it, which was a great news, since they had been waiting for this moment for months now.
Alpha Derick was wiping Cezi’s body when he opened his eyes for the first time and the alpha was too shock to react.
"Father..." Cezi called for his father. His head was slightly dizzy and the sunlight was blinding. He groaned and called for him again.
Only then alpha Derick snapped back to his sense and approach his son. "Are you alright?" he then asked for a healer secretly to check on Cezi’s condition, this healer came from Celestial Moon pack, therefore he didn’t need to be worried if what happened here would reach prince Kellan.
The healer then announced the alpha there was nothing to be worried about, Cezi only needed a good rest and he would be like his usual self in no time.
With that, alpha Derick ordered to bring a bowl of porridge.
Their food storage was critical, while they were waiting for the king to replenish it, yet somehow, alpha Derick felt there was something going on in the capital city and the way prince Kellan communicated with king Alan.
But, he couldn’t point his finger on it.
After eating, Cezi had a little bit more strength to sit down and talk to his father. Even though the alpha told him to rest, but he insisted to have this conversation with him.
"I don’t trust prince Kellan. He doesn’t look like everyone sees him." Cezi remembered a snippet in his mind when he was in so much pain and in his unconscious state.
The snippet of the image felt like dream, but when his father told him who the person had saved his life, he knew there was more into it.
The image only lasted for two second, but it said everything. It was about the young prince Kellan and a little girl with bright blue eyes and auburn hair.
The image repulsed him.
The truth was, Iris knew Cane wouldn’t say anything about her trauma of what Kellan had done to her, because he wouldn’t discuss that with anyone else, but if you saw it in different way, it would help to convince alpha Derick about prince Kellan.
Therefore, Iris intentionally let it slip. Only a second of it, which was enough to make Cezi determined to dig deeper what Kellan had been hiding for decades and what kind of filthy creature he was.
==============================
Days passed since Cane told the Serafim that she was pregnant and from the report he got, Abby had asked Grace to examine her.
Cane didn’t call the healer, because there was no need for it, since it had been confirmed. The only thing they needed to do was to watch what kind of decision the Serafim would take.
Meanwhile, the knights from the Holy Kingdom were on the way to Silver River pack, they would be here within two or three days, Koda led them.
That coward of man insisted to stay behind, saying he was too old for a battle and gave a thousand excuse to Cane for not taking him, which surprisingly Cane gave the permission. Of course, it wouldn’t be as simple as that if this related to this alpha.
"What do you think the decision that Abby will take?" Iris asked, she laid down lazily on her stomach, on the bed, while Cane kissed her shoulder, down to her spines and then bit her bum, which made her giggled and pushed him away.
The night was quiet and they decompressed from a long and hard day with the presence of each other. They were too lazy to go out and had dinner in the dining hall, therefore, Cane asked for their meal to be brought here.
"I think she will keep the baby," Cane replied against her spine, he always thought the dimple above her bum cute, ever since he found it.
"Hm. I think so too." Iris stretched her body, in hope she could shake away this alpha, but instead, Cane pulled her body up, until she sat down on his lap and sneaked his arms around her flat stomach, while his other hand squeezed her breast.
"Cane..." Iris complained, she knew where this would end up, but when he lightly caressed her inner thigh, she had nothing to protest, as the fire lit up and it was hard to put it out, until both of them got what they wanted from each other.
Secretly, Iris had been trying to do something with Cane without the alpha knowing it. Therefore, she had never turned down his advance, though in truth, she enjoyed this moment the most.
She could even heal the darkest black magic, why wouldn’t she try it? There was no harm to try.
However, she didn’t let the alpha to know her attempt because she didn’t want him to be disappointed just in case she failed.
Their night went like that, where they were thrown into the throes of passion and slept in each other arms.
But then, a shocking news came the next day when Grace came to report something to them in the early morning.
Cane and Iris’s guess was wrong about Abby.
"The Serafim asked for abortion and she ordered me to concoct a medicine for it, what should I do, alpha?" Grace glanced at the luna, who was covering her body on the bed with blanket. She knew exactly what happened and had this bitterness in her heart.
She wished a miracle could happen to the two of them again. She really wanted to see them truly happy.
"Who asked for it?" Iris asked Grace. She looked shocked by the decision that Abby made. "Is it the Serafim herself?"
"Yes, luna," Grace replied.
Of course, Grace would come here right away, once she was asked by Abby to concoct an abortion potion.
