Shocked to the Core #9

If only Trevor knew... that the white wolf was me. They’d had me this whole dang time and used me as a punching bag. The irony… was just so high. I glared at Trevor McCann with all my hatred. Oh… he was so dead.

Freya agreed, “We will take that pup down. He will SUFFER for what he put you through.” Not just me…her too. Coming here was a serious error in judgement.

I ran over to the tree line and grabbed the duffle bag with my teeth. I needed to get my mom to someone who could heal her. I looked around easily seeing Haley was the closest to me. I sent Xander a longing look because I wanted to run to him, but it wasn’t the logical route.

My mate was frozen in shock, I think he somehow knew even though I didn’t sense Oden’s presence in this battle.

Freya purred, “Mate knows and Oden is there but he’s silenced.

All will pay for that.” Ok I was also angry for Oden…

but it was good… Xander figured it out since…

he would have to know eventually so… that was fine.

Freya told me, “We can electrify ourselves and put mom on our back. Anyone we want to hurt will get fried if they touch us.” Handy. Freya added, “Once we train more, we can heal everyone’s wolf here, but right now we can heal mate and one more.” I answered, “Heal Xander and his dad.”

Freya asked, “Are you sure?” I confirmed, “Yes, Eric and Thor are legendary fighters. They are the best one to heal besides Xander… who I would’ve picked anyway.” I laughed adding, “Get it... I’m a legend and he’s a legendary fighter.” Freya snorted, “Yes, I do. You’re in a bit of shock.”

We were being surrounded. My dad screamed, “SAM, LOOK OUT!” I ripped the throat out of a wolf who was coming for my mom then maneuvered her onto my back. She instinctually wrapped her arms around my neck.

I looked down at my paws that were now glowing yellow. Freya chuckled, “And the fun begins. We are going to run now.” We took off. People were talking all around me…. well…. they probably had been the whole time.

Bad people jumped at us, but they went down when bolts of electricity hit them. They shifted back screaming in pain. Huh... I really could electrocute people. How strange… that would’ve been handy… more than once…. like all the time actually.

I ran to Haley who was fighting with her Hackura brothers. I put the duffle bag down. Prince Marcus grabbed my mom off my back and started assessing her. Haley opened the duffle bag then glanced sharply at me. Yeah, my future mother in law totally knew who I was too.

Haley quickly administered the drug to herself. Julian ran over, grabbed some, injected himself, and popped away with the rest. Valentina wasn’t here, but I knew she wouldn’t be. My friend had a standing brother date with Virgil the same day every month… which happened to be today.

Freya told me, “I’m almost done healing our mate’s wolf and his dad’s. I get to run with Oden.” Haley snorted and said, “Damn, that stuff has a fucking kick.” She started to heal my mom. I took off running toward my literal arch nemesis.

I was gunning for Trevor to take him down. I asked Freya, “Can you electrocute the guys fighting Dalton and Tristan?” Freya snickered, “We can since they are not in a crowd. Crowds, I’d be worried about our accuracy. Simply think about sending a bolt at them.” I did and they went down howling.

Freya purred, “I get to see Oden in wolf form as a wolf myself.” I heard clothes tearing and knew who it was. Dylan yelled, “OH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD! WHY GOD? WHY ME? NO, NO! WHY HIM?! MANNNNNN WHY?!” Everyone else was confused.

Tristan said, “I still can’t shift. Should we all take doses of that Laxenread stuff?” No, but I needed to get them the MDTJ doses so they could help. My friends were obviously not wearing their watches or ILYX would’ve dosed them with their serums. UGH!

Someone replied, “Alpha Eric didn’t take any.

” I ignored them and doubled my efforts, because Trevor was running for a holoport.

I jumped on a wolf fighting Avery, killed him, and kept going.

Xander linked me, “Mel, I know you’re the white wolf.

Wait for me.” I replied, “He’s not getting away!

” Freya agreed, “He’s not.” Xander questioned, “Who?”

I snarled, “That’s Trevor.” Xander growled, “That’s why he had a Fairy charm.” Well, it wasn’t a good one… because he looked like himself. Or I was seeing through it because I was the white wolf. Freya offered, “Yes, that’s why you can see through Fairy charms.” Well, yay me.

I tackled Trevor from the side before he could get through the holoport that a few others had run through. Freya happily informed me, “We can make him shift back.” I let her drive… wait how was I in charge in wolf form?

Freya explained, “We are a team.” Ok…. Freya came to the front of my mind and clearly demanded his wolf shift back because he did. I saw the necklace around his neck and used her paw to rip it off. Freya said, “We could kill him, but I want him to suffer.” So did I.

I used my wolf teeth to grab Trevor by the shoulder and began to drag him back towards the allies. The fight was won now. KJ, Fowler, and Chason had arrived. KJ was staring at me with an expression that said he had theories I was exactly who I was.

The Conners all had their powers back now… with the Lyons… so of course the fight was over. This was a dumb move by the Ring. I spotted my grandparents, on my dad’s side, standing near my mom. I wondered where the Haskins were. At least no one in my family seemed to have no clue who I was.

I threw Trevor at my brother’s feet. Both had murderous looks on their faces as they pounced on him. I looked at Paige who was staring at me with her mouth hung open. She totally knew. I honestly stopped questioning how Paige knew things, but I didn’t doubt she knew exactly who I was.

I glanced around and noticed everyone was looking at me. Eric had shifted back. Freya took in Oden in an appreciative gaze. Grandpa Ben took a step towards me, and it rocked through me that I couldn't just shift back…. I wasn’t ready to talk about this. I had to run.

I took off running back towards Black Mountain.

I heard EJ yell, “DON’T LOSE HER, ALEXANDER!

” So, EJ didn’t know who I was. Xander couldn't lose me even if he wanted to… and he definitely didn’t want to lose me…

because he was chasing me. Besides…my mate could feel my emotions…

. so I wouldn’t be hard for him to find.

My wolf would call out to his... if he stopped chasing us anyway… there was a whole thing going on. Fowler yelled, “BEST OF LUCK ALPHA ALEXANDER, SHE’S FAST! HOLY SHIT! NO FUCKING WAY! NO! RIGHT? NO.” Their voices faded.

I could hear Xander running not too far behind me. I ran back to the pond I had been dancing at. I jumped into the water. Before I surfaced, I could feel ripples in the water and knew Oden had jumped in too. I swam to the edge and climbed out.

My paws were at least clear of blood now, and back to being white. I noticed it really was a shimmering kind of white. Just like the wolf I’d met… It really was Freya... me… gosh this was weird. Whatever the case... I was all white again. I stared at my reflection in the water.

Oden came over and nuzzled Freya’s neck before he shifted back. Xander asked, “Lovebug, I’m so damn sorry you shifted alone again. I understand if you’re justly pissed off about that. Freya told Oden you tried to link us all. I’m so sorry.” My fiancé hugged me.

Eventually Xander asked, “Do you know how to shift back?” I tilted my head because in theory everyone did but in actual practice, I wasn’t sure. I asked Freya, “Do we know how?” Freya snorted, “Yes.” In the next second I was on all fours but in human form.

I shouted, “I HAVE CLOTHES ON?!” Freya laughed, “Yes, we don’t lose our clothes or anything on your person when we shift.” I sat down and took deep breaths, “Oh my god… oh my god.” Xander’s arms went around me. My mate whispered, “It’s ok, Mel.”

The need to be with him consumed me. I could finally be marked and mark my mate back. I turned around, straddled the man, then kissed him hard. I pulled back somewhat demanding, “Mark me.” Xander startled, “What?”

I shrugged explaining, “I shifted, and lord knows we are going to have to talk about all that for hours... weeks… days... maybe months… I don’t even know how long… with a whole dang group of people. So... mark me.”

Xander popped us into his treehouse. My mate clarified, “Are you sure?” I answered, “God, yes. I’ve never been so sure of anything in my entire life.” Xander smirked smugly saying, “Good.” My mate pushed me back onto the bed.

I couldn’t help but feel a thrill run through me because I would have his mark, and he would have mine. We had a lot to figure out, but we were each other’s. Always and forever. I couldn’t bring myself to care about the hours of conversations heading our way.

Right now... I was going to get myself marked. Freya cheered, “HELL YES WE ARE!” I blinked instantly understanding why my wolf had wanted to wait to mark him. Xander would have a white wolf on his neck… with my name. Well… as far as reasons go to wait… that was a good one.

Freya snickered, “I’m glad you agree, but I knew you would. Oden agreed too for the record. He’s known what we are since he heard my name.” Wow. I mean I figured they talked about…but since he heard her name was a hot second.

Xander kissed me. In an instant, all other thoughts but being with him and finally marking each other, flew out of my head. It was finally happening. That longing inside me would be quenched and we’d be fully mated.
