Chapter The Dance #10
I smirked, “It does, Gage. I meant actual science though. Apparently Wolves in general have a higher sex drive. Wolves of rank have an even higher one. Particularly with their mates.” Phil snorted, “Of course your mate knows something like that.” I winked at him.
Gage cheered, “Yay! I’m totally team Melanie knowing her facts. Now, we can just tell people it’s science. I need my Alpha to find out more of the sex secrets his mate knows from a scientific standpoint. I have to be ready to use them and throw them in people’s faces.”
Toby snorted, “What?” Gage waved, “Maybe she’ll bring you your mate.
Get on her radar. Anyway, she didn’t just look into high sex drives.
She’s a Beta blood who would’ve looked into all facets of information.
Phil, get Si to tell you all the things and details.
There will be papers and lists.” We laughed but I was certain Phil was going to ask his mate.
I was disappointed that Melanie never came to find me during lunch. I got up to go to the gym. I was walking past the small gym in the house when I felt sparks on my arm. Melanie pulled me into the personal gym in the house. Oden purred.
My mate was wearing red spandex shorts and a sports bra. I growled. Melanie picked at the hem of her shorts saying, “I thought we could work out together.” I nodded and quickly figured out my mate was purposefully teasing me.
Melanie was doing little touches here and there. She even stretched a few times for no reason. Oden commented, “Mate lifting weights is impressive.” Yes, she was. My wife could squat more than I’d have thought. I was doing presses and racked the bar back.
Melanie straddled me. I watched her as she started to grind slowly on me. My mate came down and kissed me before pulling back. I sat up with her. Melanie ordered, “Snap your pants off… and mine… it…” I cut her off, “With pleasure.”
I snapped her naked. Melanie tisked, “You didn’t follow instructions.” I watched in surprise as my mate got up and started doing pull ups. Oden grumbled, “Go with her and follow her instructions better! She’s working out naked.” Gage was definitely right about the research my mate had done.
Oden purred, “Yes, we are research. I’ll be her research all day.” So would I and now I was painfully hard. I jumped onto the bar with her. My dick ground into her ass as we did pull ups. I dropped down first, and she followed.
Melanie jumped on me, and I pushed her back up against the wall. I lifted her up, so her breasts were in my face and slipped her nipple into my mouth. My wife scratched my back and called out, “Xander!” I didn’t stop until she came.
I lined us up and slid into her again. God! How did this feel better every time? Melanie panted, “Harder… Xander… please.” I growled and thrust into her. She gasped, “Oh god… don’t stop… that… yes… yes… YESSSSSSSSSS!” I couldn’t stop myself from coming as her pussy clamped down on me.
We pulled apart breathing hard. Melanie whispered, “Happy lunch break.” I laughed, “It definitely was one of my best breaks and workouts.” Melanie commented, “We could have naked work out days.” I wiggled my eyebrows, “Don’t tempt me.
I’m somewhat literal and I love that idea.
” I snapped us back into clothes and went back to my office.
EJ snorted, “Jesus Christ, you’ve turned into a bunny.” I snorted, “I’ve got YEARS to catch up with you, big brother.” EJ winked at me. The weeks passed by. Melanie was still working on several things with Geter and Paige.
She’d had an emotional conversation with Everly, Tristan, and Kai.
I’d popped in to bring her home, but it really felt like it was good for them.
They’d done a family run afterwards. Oden grumbled, “I don’t like that mate has puffy eyes when she comes home.
” I didn’t either, but it felt like they were taking good steps.
Thanksgiving was coming up on us. Phil and Gage were twitchy thinking they forgot something, but they couldn’t figure it out. They had so much going on, I wasn’t surprised that something has slipped their minds. My mom was VERY excited about her cherry pie for Thanksgiving this year.
Mom was determined that it would be the best thing ever. My mate had also gotten my mom onto Twitter. I had to admit, it was actually hilarious. I followed my mom’s account when hers followed me. Her account was really popular already.
Sometimes people even responded to explain the meaning of a saying, but my mom still thought they were wrong. My mom finding out about Twitter meant Faerie found out about Twitter. It was safe to say there was now Fairy fuckery on Twitter. It was hilariously entertaining.
I still needed to talk to Melanie about what we’d learned with the Werebengals. It was going to have to be today. The day before Thanksgiving because I procrastinated. Being a god was still weird to me. I felt a sense of urgency from Melanie hit me.
I linked her, “What’s up, Lovebug?” Melanie answered, “I’ll be back. Work… stuff… .and… it’s fine.” I growled knowing it was the Resistance. I began to pace. EJ linked me asking, “What’s up?” I explained, “Something is going on with the Resistance and Melanie left.”
Oden chimed in, “She’s pretty far away.” I knew that because I could feel it in the bond. After a few hours EJ asked, “Will you stop pacing? You’re going to wear out the floor.” I growled at him knowing he would do the exact same thing, and he knew it.
Phil came in asking, “So, what did I miss? He was fine when I left. Gage said he didn’t know, but he’s been in the gym all day.” EJ explained, “Melanie isn’t here.” Phil frowned, “Sierra didn’t say anything.” He went quiet.
I asked, “What?” Phil sighed, “Sierra didn’t know Melanie had left.” Great. Just great. That meant my mate might have gone alone. I was monitoring Melanie’s feelings closely when a Warrior walked in our office.
He announced, “There is someone here to see the Muffin Luna. This woman is running from something or someone. She’s very nervous looking all around. Honestly, she looks ready to disappear at any moment.” I frowned and popped to the woman in question.
The woman gasped, “Holy shit! You’re Melanie’s Xander.” EJ popped beside me answering, “He is. Who are you?” The woman frowned, “I just need to talk to Melanie.” I explained, “My wife is not here right now, but we will help you.”
The woman laughed, “Yeah, Melanie is on a short list of people who can help me.” I studied the woman and my shock hit.
I linked EJ, “Is it me or this woman a partial Demon and Angel.” EJ replied, “She definitely is. Which means we need to get inside.” I grabbed her arm and popped with her back to our office.
The woman groaned, “Oh god. Headrush. What was that for? I could’ve gotten in here two different ways. There was no need to pop me around for the first time.” I said, “My brother and I have met Angels and Demons. You feel like a mix of them. I’m guessing you’re not popular with either group.”
The woman sighed, “Some of my half-brothers are nice and help out sometimes, if it suits them. I also have a cousin who helps me when he can because he’s a good guy.
Plus, his mate isn’t an Angel yet, so their kids are partials.
He doesn’t agree that I should be treated this way. My parents are mates after all.”
I raised an eyebrow. Oden said, “Her family sucks. I would help Snow and Rain no matter what. I’d also kill all threats to them.” I knew that because I felt the same way. EJ asked, “Did you say your parents are mates? As in they are living?”
The woman nodded. EJ questioned, “Then why aren’t your parents helping you?” She sighed, “They have to save themselves.” I didn’t even need my mom to tell me that was a lie and they’d conditioned this woman to believe that.
I asked, “Do you have any full blooded siblings?” She shook her head, “No. My mom has other kids and so does my dad, but not with each other. I’m their only child.
If we are together, we are too easy to track.
Or so they say. Melanie thinks that’s crap.
Well, she says crap, I say bullshit.” Good, it was.
I asked, “How old are you?” The woman teased, “Hasn’t anyone ever told you not to ask a lady her age? Honestly, I surprised myself by letting Melanie help me. I’m used to being alone, but I let her hook me up with a roommate. Your mate is a good kid though. Wicked smart.”
EJ hummed, “You call her kid. That implies that you’re older than Melanie.” The woman retorted, “I’m older than you, too. So, respect your elders there, boy.” I snorted, “We are Alpha’s.” The woman gently clapped her hand on my cheek.
Oden huffed, “For some reason that does not upset me.” Nor did it upset me, which meant this woman was likely mated into my family. Melanie’s friend said, “Bless your heart. I know you are an Alpha. Everyone knows that.”
“Actually, ANYONE who has met Melanie knows who you are. She talks so much about you that I found myself curious knowing she was here. Plus, most people know the famous Conners family. When will Melanie be back?”
I admitted, “I don’t know. I, personally, don’t like how long she’s been gone.” EJ asked, “What’s your name?” The woman went rigid and that had Oden going on alert. EJ linked me, “I’m not getting good vibes.” My mom popped to us with our dad.
I sighed and asked them, “Angela?” Mom nodded. My mom looked at the woman with us, “Yes and I got a bad feeling.” She threw the woman aside with her wind as a dagger appeared in the air. A Bounty Hunter appeared in my office.
When did this office become fight central?
! I growled but before I could do anything, a hand reached around his neck and slit his throat.
When he dropped, I stared at my mate who was covered in blood and wearing a Resistance mask.
With Julian’s mate beside her, also in a Resistance mask. They’d shimmered in, clearly.
Mealnie took it off asking, “Did I miss dinner? I’m really hungry.” EJ gasped then yelled, “THAT is what you have to say, Ladybug?” Melanie said, “Uhh I was going to say hi to Angelique too.” My mate turned to Angelique, the woman who we’d been talking to.
Melanie huffed, “I’ve been looking for you. You weren’t where I left you which was good… there were quite a few Bounty Hunters there. Several bodies outside too… so I was guessing you took off. I went to all our prearranged spots with Valentina… but I couldn’t find you.”
“I’m SERIOUSLY annoyed at myself that it didn’t dawn on me you’d come here. It’s so obvious. Everyone knows where to find me…. and you’d be curious and want to meet Xander… you said that so many times… and I really….”
Melanie was cut off by a voice from behind us yelling, “MINE!” I heard a gasp and turned to face the doorway, astonished because I knew whose voice it was. This was going to get interesting. My mate really did know a lot of people. Interesting and unique people.
