Chapter 8 Possessive Side #8

Fowler linked, “Alpha, the Muffin Luna needs a second. To dance, run, beat someone up, make all the food in the world or something. She doesn’t get it, and their explanations just make her more upset.

” I replied, “Then I’ll explain it differently.

” Fowler made a face and clearly told Chason because he just laughed back.

KJ warned, “Alpha, it’s not a good time. Just like you need to work off steam, your mate does.” I reasoned, “I’m not going to put her back against the wall like I heard they did.” KJ whistled, “The young just have to learn in their own way.” Huh?

I walked up announcing, “I’ll be stealing my mate now.” Ray snorted, “It’s your funeral, Alexander.” Oden offered, “Freya is also agitated.” Jesus Christ, what did they say? I raised an eyebrow at Ray. Elise gave me a sympathetic look.

Melanie’s friends, on the other hand, looked like this was exactly how they expected things to go. Buttercup was trying not to laugh. I held my hand out to Melanie, and she took it. I walked a little ways with her into the forest to one of my treehouses. We climbed up silently together.

Once we were inside, I stated the obvious, “You are annoyed.” Melanie practically exploded with words, “Yes, I am. People seem to be under the impression that having an animal side means people can behave like jerks.”

I countered that, “It doesn’t but it does mean we are possessive.” Melanie snorted, “There’s a difference in being possessive and being rude… which you know… based on how you phrased what you said… and you were rude to Charles.”

“I’ll speak to him as well because Sierra said he was goading you on purpose; however, that doesn’t mean you should’ve let him. Or that he should’ve done it. He’s far too old for that crap… but it’s always been you for me… and you know that.”

I growled, “He wants you.” Melanie retorted, “So?” I explained, “You didn’t care when it was Vance I was pissed off at.” Melanie frowned, “That was different! He insulted you, me, and our relationship. That is a completely different set of circumstances.”

“I will always be on your side about people disrespecting our bond… or you. I don’t let people do that… I’m actually quite rude about it….but I’m allowed to hug my friends. Or be excited to see them when they come visit.”

I closed my eyes admitting, “I’d prefer you NOT jump into the arms of another man who wants to fuck you.

Or one who wants you as his Vampire child.

” Melanie argued, “I don’t think he wants to have.

.. umm relations…. with me anymore. Charles and Angelique had a thing for…

. a while…. and I set them up so… that’s not really a thing. ”

My eyes widened, “You think because a man has sex with your friends, he doesn’t want to have sex with you?

” Melanie replied, “I mean… yes.” I told her, “Your logic is VERY wrong.” Melanie crossed her arms disagreeing, “A man as smart as Charles knows I wasn’t ever going to have sex with him; however, if he wanted the chance…

being intimate with my friends wasn’t the way to get me into bed.

He knew when he slept with Angelique there was no chance…

not that there was a chance before, but it dropped the percentage into the negative. ” I gaped at her.

Eventually I said, “You cannot be serious.” Melanie emphatically said, “I am one hundred percent serious. Nothing between Charles and I has ever been sexual.” I snorted, “You kept him alive by feeding your blood to him.”

Melanie frowned and I felt her confusion in the bond. My wife told me, “That wasn’t sexual…. at all… in any way.” I snorted, “Do you really not know how sexual feedings are for Vampires?” Melanie shrugged, “I mean… yes… but not all are.”

I snorted, “For them it is.” Melanie replied, “No… it’s not. Sometimes it’s about continuing their life. Besides… there were no type of intimate things happening when I saved his life. It was about keeping him alive and healing him.”

“Charles was in really bad shape when I got to him. I’ve never given my blood to a Vampire who wasn’t injured… so from what I’ve seen… it has never been sexual in nature. Angelique did talk about that side of it, but they were being intimate when Charles drank her blood.”

“So of course, that’s different… because… it would be more intimate in that type of encounter. You know you’re the ONLY person I’ve been with… in any sort of way. You were my first everything. The point remains, you shouldn’t have been so rude to Charles. You are fine with Dax and Caine.”

I countered, “Dax and Caine don’t want to sleep with you.

They view you as a little sister.” Melanie snorted, “Would you like me to take a poll in the surrounding packs about the women who want to sleep with you? I wouldn’t even have to make it anonymous…

and the number saying they do would be INSANELY high. ”

I snorted, “I don’t run and jump into their arms.” Melanie tilted her head, and I felt in the bond her mood was quite dangerous to someone, but I didn’t know who. Oden said, “Freya locked down. I don’t have any insight here.”

Melanie clarified, “So you do not hug any member of the opposite sex that’s not family? That’s what you’re saying right now.” Oden warned, “That’s a trap.” I sighed, “No, that’s not what I’m saying but….” Melanie interrupted, “AH HA! There is no but.” There was.

Melanie continued, “If you can hug people, I can as well. Charles is even a mentor of mine… and it’s not any different than if I hugged your Uncle Gunner.” I snorted, “What?! That’s completely different. On so many levels!”

Melanie explained, “I followed all your Uncle’s papers…

and well, ok he doesn’t know… he was mentor and teacher…

. but he is. Besides, you hug your Warriors that you are acquaintances with, and female members of your Squadron.

One of the Warriors you trained, that’s not a member of this pack, kisses your cheek when she’s here. ” This was bout Cheyenne?

I explained, “She’s from Europe and…” I trailed off then asked, “Wait, how do you know that?” Melanie snorted, “How I know is not relevant. I know about it. You’ll find there’s not much I don’t know… especially when it comes to you.”

“Plus, you went to a dance with Charlene. I didn’t go to a dance with anyone… in any sort of date way… I tried to go as Ads plus one… but that wasn’t romantic at all… and was solely so I could attend a dance… besides… I didn’t get inside.”

I reasoned, “I didn’t know you were mine when I went to that dance. I thought you might be. Hell, I went with her to that dance in the hopes that I would meet you!” Melanie bit her lip then counted out loud, “One, two, three, four, five… no… it didn’t work.”

I linked, “Oden?” Oden replied, “I’m getting huffed at.” For fuck’s sake. Melanie muttered, “Charlene tormented me over the fact you went to a dance with her. She constantly tried to pick fights with me… well not tried… she did pick them. A lot.”

I raised an eyebrow, “From what I heard you punched her, a lot.” Melanie shouted, “Of course I did! She started those fights… and it’s not my fault she couldn’t finish them because I did. I was also a pup… but we are adults now.”

“I don’t haul off and punch people that stare at you. Or who ogle and flirt with you. Charles didn’t flirt with me when he was here… and multiple people agree with that… by the way. I concede he was messing with you… but you let him.” Oh, for god’s sake.

I growled, “Can’t we just agree to there being no jumping into men’s arms that aren’t mine?” Melanie snorted, “I was excited to see my friend. You do realize… you are in FAR more intimate positions when you train people than I was hugging Charles.”

I argued, “That’s different.” Melanie snorted, “Oh really? Well then come on… let’s put this to the test.” Oden warned, “That’s definitely bad.” I could tell. My wife stormed out of the treehouse. Where the hell was she going? She was already running away so I couldn’t ask.

I popped behind her and started to jog, getting a very bad feeling when my mate stormed into the gym. I linked her, “I’ve seen you fight men before.” Melanie retorted, “You have and I recall you didn’t like seeing me in those positions.” She was right, I had said that.

Melanie pointed out, “You were also busy with your own fight at the time.” I did not like where this was going. Gage linked, “Uhh what the fuck is happening?” I growled, “Nothing good.” Gage snorted, “I have eyes, so I noticed that.”

I watched as Melanie grabbed Wesley’s Male Lead Warrior. The man looked quite looked confused, which was fair. My wife led him to the mats. The gym seemed to be holding its collective breath as one. Melanie turned instructed him, “Let’s see what you’ve got.” No.

Oden growled, “Alexander.” EJ popped next to me and took in the scene. My older brother commented, “The pack link is saying interesting things.” Valentina shimmered in with Buttercup, Wesley, Abigail and Sierra.

Sierra snorted, “Oh no. He made it worse. What did you say? I need the full breakdown to understand how bad what’s about to go down is.

” Valentina started laughing. Julian asked, “What’s going on?

” Wesley winced and linked me, “You can’t kill my Male Lead Warrior.

” I growled, “I’m not going to kill him. ”

Mom popped in with my dad who was trying not to laugh.

I linked my dad, “Don’t even.” Dad said, “Next time, consider the space I advised you on giving your wife.” Yeah, I was going to do that.

I spotted Ray and KJ, both of whom looked at me with pity.

What was the big deal? I’d seen her fight before.

Tank and Zane were in the corner looking more than a little concerned. Jason clapped a hand on my back asking, “What’s the big deal here?” I snorted, “Ask everyone else because they…” I trailed off when Melanie let my brother’s Male Lead Warrior put her into a choke hold.

I snarled when my wife began to grind her ass on him then rocked her hips into him. My mate moved her hands to get him to let go and did a roll. Oden said, “I hate this point.” I didn’t care for it either. Zane and Tank winced while Liam rubbed his face.

Gage said, “Ok, I hate whatever happened. Phil, let’s just go over there and figure out how to make sure it never happens again.” Phil agreed, “Definitely over there.” Sierra said, “So, Jase that’s what the rest of us believe the big deal will be.”

Jason winced, “It’s a fighting move, Alexander.” I snarled, “I am well aware of that.” Yet Melanie had not done anything like that when she’d fought before. Their fight was intense. Wesley’s Male Lead Warrior picked Melanie up and she wrapped her legs around him for leverage.

Phil linked me, “Don’t do what you’re about to do.” I snarled, “ENOUGH!” Gage groaned. Melanie simply raised an eyebrow at me. I linked Wesley’s Male Lead Warrior, “Put my WIFE down or I’ll kick your ass.” He quickly extricated himself from her and stepped away as if she’d burned him.

I popped to them and punched him square in the face. Melanie smiled at me before she sweetly asked, “Is something wrong?” Except she had no goddamn poker face, and it told me she knew exactly what was wrong. Tank warned, “Ladybug, back all the way down there.”

I heard a laugh that I knew was my mother’s. EJ said, “Ok, this was certainly an intense fight on the mats. Alexander and I will be back. Elise, just….” My brother trailed off then continued, “Yeah, say words. Any words will do.” Sierra argued, “No, they will not.”

EJ popped me away to the gym in the house.

I hit the heavy bag off the hook. I growled, “She did that on purpose!” Wesley had popped with Phil and Gage.

My younger brother reasoned, “Technically, all the moves she did were fighting moves. Not to rock the boat, but they are fighting moves you have done before. In those videos you put out with both males and females.”

Gage agreed, “That’s true and we know that your mate watched those videos.” Phil chimed in, “We know she watched them lot. Across multiple accounts actually. Each of those accounts downloaded all the workout programs and videos too.”

I growled, “If it was Buttercup, Abigail, or Sierra that had just done that then what would your advice be?” Wesley sighed, “I’m just saying, from a place of being fair…

.” I growled interrupting, “My Fairy side is shoved so far back in me I can’t bring myself to care. My Werewolf side is firmly in charge.”

Phil said, “I have nothing.” Gage chimed in, “I have less than nothing.” EJ huffed, “Fuck you both. Let’s just calm down for a second, brother.” I snarled, “Why? So my wife can fight more of our men?” EJ sighed in relief, “No, because she went for a run. Ladybug is probably in Blue Moon by now.”

I growled, “I need air.” Gage said, “I think that’s probably best. You should run in the direction of Yellow Hills until we figure out how to unfuck whatever just happened.” Phil snorted, “My mate linked us what happened. The girls all made her damn powder keg.”

I demanded, “Explain!” Phil said, “I can because I’ve talked to T about this a lot.

Melanie doesn’t like it when people act like she doesn’t understand things.

She hates the placating ‘you’re so cute you don’t understand’ logic.

She likes things to be fair and reasonable.

Next time, this will be approached differently. ” Good.

EJ popped us outside and the most intoxicating smell of strawberries covered in sugar I'd ever smelt reached me in seconds. I tilted my head asking, “Do you smell that?” EJ answered, “I do.” Oden linked, “Alexander, that’s….” I growled finishing, “MATE!”

I heard a whimper of pain, and it gutted my very soul because I knew it was my wife. EJ groaned, “Oh fuck me! Is Melanie in heat?” I popped to my mate. Egres was fighting along with my Guard, Zane, Tank, KJ, Chason, and Fowler.

I roared, “WHO THE FUCK’S PACK IS THIS?! AND WHO THE GODDAMN HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?!” I didn’t recognize them. That probably meant there were more packs out looking for the white wolf. We were in Blue Moon territory, and these were not their people.

I heard someone singing, “I HAVE COME TO SAVE THE DAY!” I growled, “DYLAN!” He shifted into Fang and started fighting. I linked my family, “Get to me NOW!” Angela linked, “It’s fine, we will handle everything and Melanie’s fine. Pop her away. We handle this and we catch you up before the New Year.”

I turned as someone reached Melanie. I was about to stop him when he was thrown back with a great force because my mate had electrocuted him.

I grabbed my wife and she clung to me. Melanie whimpered, “It hurts.” I promised her, “I’ll make it stop.

” I popped us away, forgetting all about her point and the argument.

She was all that mattered to me. Which meant taking care of her was the priority.
