Chapter 11 Keeping the Advantage #5

Xander argued, “No, you’ll tell me. I’ll do my best never to forget again, but if I do you’ll tell me.” I frowned, “What if…” He pulled out and slammed back into me. I gripped the grass and my fingernails dug into the dirt. Fairies just didn’t mess around with their charms.

Xander growled, “Melanie Jane Conners, you’ll remind me if we have plans. You are the most important person to me. We are important as a couple. Our relationship is everything to me. Taking time for us is important.” I nodded.

Xander spanked me demanding, “Say it.” I agreed, “I’ll tell you if you forget.” I felt him smirking in our bond. I suppose it was more like I felt his smugness. That would make more sense… logically. Freya asked, “How can you even think right now?” I mean… I was usually always thinking.

My mate set out to make sure I wasn’t going to forget to tell him our plans if he forgot via orgasm overload. The last time I came I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I felt Xander pop us somewhere… wherever it was, the bed was so soft. The pillow was cradling my neck perfectly.

I didn’t even want to try and stay awake. I woke up when someone tapped me on my forehead. I frowned and looked around. I was in a meadow. What the hell? We left that other room… and it wasn’t a meadow.

I looked across from me and gasped. I asked, “Arion? Like… Arion Holloran?” The man smiled, “Now, how did you know that?” I heard Aiden say, “Our nephew’s mate does things like that, brother.” Now my brain felt like it was on overload because this should not be possible.

I asked, “Aiden? What… what’s going on? You’re not dead…. that’s not a thing I would let happen.” Aiden laughed, “My brother pulled me to your dream. The three of us should talk since you know things. I find that intriguing.”

I frowned, “Ok… I don’t know what you find intriguing about that, but I do know when Haley kills Gerdishek… Arion needs to keep him from contacting people. That Fairy can’t pull someone here and talk to them… I think that’s about Haley.”

“I don’t really know…I just know that I know he can’t do it. Gerdishek’s going to see how powerful she is, and I don’t think that’s a problem… per say… the O’Toole’s refuse to acknowledge they were wrong about Haley… so they will continue to live in delusion about her.”

“The thing is, Gerdishek could also warn them we know about the O’Toole’s. We have the advantage right now. I think Aiden already knew some of the O’Toole’s lived. I did and….” Arion tilted his head interrupting, “How did you know that?”

Aiden answered, “She is friends with Charles Lennox, the reclusive Vampire.” Arion snorted, “False. Charles doesn't have friends, he has potential children.” Aiden smirked, “Yet they are friends. Charles did want her as a child though.” Arion studied me.

I sighed, “Anyway, the rest of the O’Toole’s have no reason to suspect someone mentioned them. I think Gerdishek was some sort of key… or gate… I’m not sure on the terminology… to open the portals in Faerie so that anyone could enter. He wanted one of you to kill him… but he did NOT want Haley to.”

Aiden snorted, “Which is why you told my sister to challenge him and not just kill him. He accepted therefore the dual that binds him to the rules of Faerie. Which magic cannot undo.” I nodded, “Which he might not know being born outside Faerie… but I knew even if he did, his pride meant he would accept.”

Arion snorted, “Melanie does know a lot about us, brother.” Aiden replied, “I told you she did. Our nephew’s mate is fascinating.” Arion asked, “Are we sure she’s a full blooded wolf?” Aiden laughed, “You know that we are.”

I sighed, “It was debated for a few years.” Arion winced, “I should’ve checked on you.” I raised an eyebrow asking, “Why would you do that?” Arion answered, “For my nephew.” I said, “Your powers are growing faster than your siblings… because you are dead.” Arion nodded.

Then my mate’s dead uncle smirked, “You are interesting.” I sighed, “I guess… most people say I ramble too much… or that I’m annoying… yeah ok… there are more… so a lot of people use different adjectives to describe me.” Arion laughed.

Aiden asked, “Who do you think started the Ring?” I sighed, “A Vampire… with others.” Arion smiled, “How evasive. I like her, brother.” Aiden smirked, “So do I. Melanie recognizes things. She’s always noticed that I know things.”

I said, “Yes, I do. For example…. the fact you let some people see you as this mischievous Fairy who happens to sit on the throne that is powerful. You don’t let them see how smart you are. It’s genius. People underestimate you because of it.”

“I think Eric used to, but he’s come to see you. Even Bjourn has… begrudgingly… which their reluctance doesn’t make sense… now… that time has passed. K will fix that. Honestly, the only person who has never seemed surprised by your cunning is Haley.”

Aiden smiled and acknowledged, “My sister has always seen the best in me. Arion as well. Haley has always been quite smart.” I nodded, “She had to be. Haley was forced to hide everything about her, but in doing that… her cunning showed.” Arion wiggled his eyebrows.

Eventually Arion asked, “Who from our family do you suspect is in the Ring?” I sighed, “I think it’s more than one person. I think there’s a main one… I suspect it will be an aunt. The O’Toole’s fostered the hatred of partial Fairies… so there had to be a reason.”

“I think they knew the promised siblings would have a partial in the core group. They wanted to prevent you all from reaching your destiny. I think… well… that your father figured out that it would be you guys. I think his mistake was telling your mother… or she told him… but I know he figured it out.”

Aiden asked, “Why do you think that?” I sighed, “There are rumors of your father’s powers. I think plenty of people assume Alania saw it, but I don’t think she did until your dad told her. She’s too selfish to look that far into your future.”

“Alania cared about herself and those motivations. If she was truly monitoring her sight as she should, she would've saved your dad. Alania’s selfish but I think she did truly love Fenilton in her way. Not that psychopaths can love… but in their way. It was mostly about the adoration he gave her. Alania never would’ve given that up.

She didn’t pay attention and she lost him. ”

Aiden raised an eyebrow, agreeing, “You are right. It was our dad that figured it out.” I sighed, “I don’t know who Alania bragged to. It wasn’t Fabian or he would've used Haley and you two in other ways. It was someone… who wasn’t truly loyal.”

“I think the O’Toole’s figured it out when Haley came along… or they were tipped off… or they were just watching your family. I’m not sure. I think there may be more information. I think they played the long game.”

“They were the royal Earth family before everything went down and they were removed from Faerie. It stood to reason eventually one of them would be mated to a member of your family. I think they wanted to prevent the promised siblings from happening so they could… recreate them.”

“I think an O’Toole was turned into a Vampire after having two full blooded Fairy children. Maybe more O’Toole’s have been turned at this point. I think in their minds… even though it’s crazy… I think they thought they could re-create the promised siblings.”

“With the two full blooded children, then… by then having another child… a partial Fairy and Vampire child. As long as you all never realized how powerful you were… they had to feel they had a chance.”

“They tried to drive light itself from Faerie with what they were doing to Haley. They let Fabian abuse her. I think he worked with them, but they knew they couldn’t tell him how important she was. The O’Toole’s just fueled his evil…. and hatred of partials.”

“The ultimate goal was to break her… possibly take Haley so everyone could see they won. Which is crazy because they had light itself… and they knew it… but they didn’t weaponize her… maybe that was going to come later? I’m not sure.”

“I don’t know that part is not solid to me… I think your grandparents might be involved… well your great grandparents. On your mom’s dad’s side of the family, because… where they did they go? Why are they never mentioned?”

Aiden commented, “I do not think you are wrong.” I asked, “Do you know they are behind this then?” Aiden answered, “No, I found that Fabian was in contact with some of the O’Toole’s. The only way they could have escaped was if our own family betrayed us.”

“After the sacrifice made by great-grandfather’s side, using the Soul Eater to kill the King, it’s despicable. They know the sacrifice he made and they spit on it. He gave up the centuries he still had for the hope of the promised siblings and Faerie. Then he did not get to rest in the Beyond.”

I frowned asking, “Why not? Your mom and Fabian are there. Why wouldn’t Azoney interfere and take him there?

” Arion said, “Our ancestor sold his soul, and those who sell their souls go to Hell.” I argued, “False. Fabian sold a bunch of pieces of his soul… and he’s not there…

so honestly that tracks. Azoney didn’t step in with the person she should have. ”

I waved my hands in the air adding, “You could go talk to him… I mean your ancestor who paid the price, Arion.” Both of my mate’s Fairy Uncles startled.

I asked, “What? You can. You’re practically a god already.

You can go to any place… Hell is no exception.

Your ancestor might know if someone betrayed the family and who it is.

” Arion laughed, “I like her, brother.” I pursed my lips.

I asked, “Have you been to see Cassandra?” Arion smirked, “I delight in ruining her day. I have seen her many times. I saw her many times before she died in her dreams, and I have seen her since. She is still in a state of limbo which is easier for me to get to.”
