The Statue #6
Mom rolled her eyes and said, “Alright. I’ll be taking my daughters and sons-in law with me. You boys try not to fucking kill each other. I’m specifically looking at two.” She pointed at dad and Dylan. Dylan gasped, “Moi? Cause trouble? Never! Only Fairy fun.”
Mom kissed dad and turned to wait for all our mates. I kissed Melanie before saying, “Have fun at your first Luna brunch.” Melanie whispered, “Ok… but like… I mean…. Yeah ok.” I linked her, “It’s ok to be nervous.” Melanie replied, “I just want to make a good impression.” I assured her, “You will.”
Oden told me, “Freya said that she’s worried because people don’t like her.” I snarled, “Shitheads in Black Path don’t count.” Oden snorted, “Agreed.” My wife walked off, and my brothers and I formed a literal wall between dad and Dylan on the way to our first meeting.
Dylan said, “Aww little Mini Pricks, you all care about little old me. I thought just Wesley would block me from LSGAP’s view, but no each and every one of you are helping. I am so touched.” Dad growled, “I still might punch you.”
Dylan gloated, “You’ve never punched me.
” Dad muttered, “I muzzled you though.” Dylan gasped, “You would bring that up right now! It was very rude of you and that was before the PF’s entered our lives.
That doesn’t count. Wipe it from the history books because it never happened.
What happens in pre-partial Fairy days stays in pre-partial fairy days. ” Dad rolled his eyes.
We sat down for our meeting with several other Alphas. While the parties and gatherings at the Summit were fun; these meetings were tedious and boring. I felt annoyance from Melanie in our bond. I was hoping she’d have fun, but that didn’t appear to be the case.
My mate’s irritation was mounting, and the hope people would like her had long faded. I felt my mom’s extreme surprise and what felt like gratitude. EJ bolted up out of nowhere saying, “Excuse us.” My big brother grabbed my arm and led me out of the room.
Dad followed with a smirk on his face. When the door closed, I asked, “What happened? Why are we leaving our brothers in that boring meeting?” EJ answered, “They will join us, because your mate is throwing down at the Luna brunch. Cayden told Elise he had no intention of stopping Ladybug, and her friends all shrugged and said that’s Melanie. ”
I asked, “What the hell happened?” EJ explained “Ladybug didn’t appreciate how some people were talking to our mom or the other mates.
” I growled, “Talking to them how?” EJ shrugged, “We can get to that later. Right now, your mate is beating the shit out of a Luna we are not allies with and her two daughters.”
Dad snorted. I grabbed him and popped to my mom. Melanie had busted all three women’s lips. I gasped when she held the Luna of a pack in Louisiana down and ripped out her canines. Oden purred, “Mate is awesome.”
My eyes widened knowing how big a deal to wolves that move was. The canines grew back, but it was slow and they started out as baby teeth. The two daughters were outraged and rushed Melanie together. My mate easily put them both down.
Melanie warned, “Unless you want to lose your canines too, grow a brain, have some respect, and shut your mouths.” Damn that was hot.
Gage linked, “I’m hearing things.” I replied, “You should get here with your mate.” Phil linked, “I’m on the way.
Sierra is just laughing about how she said she should be at the brunch. ”
The Alpha of the Luna and the two other women’s father came storming in.
Alpha Sail looked at his mate and got red in the face.
Dad chuckled, “I really like your mate, son.” I looked back at Alpha Sail.
His son was right behind him, along with the former Alpha Sail.
The son was fighting back a laugh and a smile.
Dad admitted, “I am hoping the former Alpha Sail makes a move.” Lexi Daniels flashed beside us emphatically stating, “So do I. I didn’t get to kick his ass the last time I saw him, when he tried to stop Matt and Ted’s wedding.” I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
I asked EJ, “Did you know that?” EJ linked, “I was a baby pup too, I don’t remember that.” Oden snorted, “I’m asking the wolves.” Melanie simply stared at Alpha Sail. My mate’s stance and eyes were daring him to say something.
Alpha Sail growled at me, “Alpha Alexander control your mate, or leave her at home.” I snarled at him.
Melanie gasped, “Excuse me? Did you really say that when YOUR pack caused this issue? By the way, you can direct your issues to me. My mate doesn’t control me…
. and for someone talking about controlling their mate, you certainly have none over yours or your daughters. ”
“So… pot meet kettle. At least I’m respectful, until someone does something that doesn’t deserve my respect.
Your mate and your daughters are… well… awful human beings.
If anyone should’ve been left at home, it’s them.
Your daughters aren’t even mates of an Alpha…
so by their own logic… they shouldn’t be at this brunch. ”
Alpha Sail bristled, “Oh so those two men are allowed, but not my daughters?” Melanie retorted, “Their mates are Alphas. By definition, this brunch is for them… which is something someone of your I.Q. should know… just based on the sign.”
Alpha Sail was turning purple. Oden snickered in my head.
Gage linked, “She called him stupid.” Technically, she didn’t.
Alpha Sail growled, “Did you just call me stupid?!” Melanie frowned answering, “No, I said someone of your intelligence should easily recognize that mates of Alpha’s are welcome at the brunch.
If you interpreted that as me calling you stupid…
it speaks to how you view yourself more than how I do. ”
Alpha Sail shouted, “This brunch is for the women!” Melanie glared at him. I briefly saw a flicker of dejection on Micah’s face before it passed. Max popped to him, so I didn’t draw attention to it. Melanie got in Alpha Sail’s face.
I popped behind her as she pointed a finger at him, “This brunch is for mates of Alphas, former and current. I understand you were raised with hatred, malice and prejudice against…. certain things, and people; however, it’s time to rise above how you were raised.”
“You are not better than another Alpha who loves males because you like women. You are not above other Alphas because you are a full blooded Werewolf. My mate is easily, ten times stronger than you are physically and in wolf form.”
Several people snorted out laughs because her voice squeaked on the word ten.
Melanie blew out a breath, “Ok, it’s more than ten…
but that’s without using his Fairy powers.
Grow up and educate yourself and your pack.
Learn how to respect people... and teach that to your pack, because you all are an embarrassment. ”
The former Alpha Sail was making a move, but Melanie simply put him on the ground. My wife growled, “I know alllllll about you. Honestly…. I’m not sure why you thought you could take me. I’m Beta born… was a Female Lead Warrior…. and now I’m a Luna.”
“This is your fault. This is what hate breeds when you have weak willed and minded people that you’ve molded to follow your ways. Deal with it, because this is on you and your prejudice. Black Mountain will never enter into an alliance with yours.”
“I mean… at least not while your pack is run by egocentric, spoiled, manacle, sexist, bigoted jerks. I mean seriously… humans have gotten passed your archaic way of thinking. Your grandson is the only person worth a crap in your family.”
My wife stood up and nodded to Alpha Sail’s son. I suppressed my growl when Melanie greeted, “Hi, Trenton.” Gage linked, “So, Melanie knows everyone.” I retorted, “Clearly.” Trenton smiled, “Ashley.” He shook himself then corrected himself, “I mean Melanie.”
My gaze narrowed on him. Alpha Sail was under the Werewolf Council, not the Supernatural Council. So, how did they know each other? Phil linked, “Gage and I are on it. I’ll talk to the future Alpha’s Beta and Gage is going to speak with his Future Gamma. We will get answers.” Uh huh.
Alpha Sail growled, “How do you know her, Trenton?” Oden snorted, “He didn’t know what his own son was doing?” I glanced at dad, shocked, because he knew all my moves sometimes before I made them. Dad rolled his eyes.
Trenton answered, “You wouldn’t teach me how to fight. None of the future leadership were learning anything from our fathers, so I reached out to Ashley Griffen. We trained with her so we could be ready to take over one day.” Holy fucking shit.
Phil linked, “Well, now we will talk to those men for others reason.” Gage linked, “Oh my god. His own son just outed him for not training him. How many people are doing that?” I answered, “One would be too many.”
Melanie offered, “I mean…. you’re ready… so… if I were in your shoes…. Trenton, I’d challenge your dad. You can beat him.” Trenton smiled at her. Alpha Sail sputtered, “He’s not ready.” Melanie karate chopped him in the throat.
Dad linked, “I love your mate.” Melanie questioned, “Did you train him? The whole room knows you didn’t…
so… out of everyone here… I would know..
if Trenton was ready or not… and he is… he’s also actually a good person.
I’d advise my mate to enter an alliance with your son, but I would never let an alliance with you happen. ”
Alpha Sail growled at her and went to slap her. Oden growled, “Hell no!” I caught his hand. My eyes flashed black. Oden told Alpha Sail, “Don’t you ever raise a hand to my mate again or your son won’t have to challenge you. I will and it will be to the DEATH!”
