Chapter Twenty-Eight #3
He sighs impatiently before reaching behind me to rip my backpack off my back.
The bag falls to the ground. He looks down at it before looking back at me.
I’m taller than him so I flick my arms to make the shard of glass fall down my sleeve.
Once I’ve got a good grip on the glass I take advantage of him being distracted by my bag and stab him in the gut.
His eyes widen as he curls into himself.
Blood spills from his lips and he leans into me.
“Ugh, get off of me, you’re making me dirty.” I push him.
“Hey!” Jamie says.
I turn to look at him before ducking down, knowing he’s going to shoot.
He does and the bullet lands in the guy before me, right in the same wound.
Shit, for Jamie to be their boss he has bad aim tonight.
He must be high or drunk or both. Checking my surroundings I spin and kick to trip the guy.
He stumbles and lands face first on my backpack.
He somehow triggered my Bali song knife and it stabs him the eye.
I press my shoe on the back of his head the dig the knife further into his eye socket.
I feel the life leaving his body from underneath my foot.
“That’s some tough shit.” I comment before standing to my full height.
I hear a gun clatter to the floor and when I look where Jamie once stood I see him hurrying into the car.
“Fuck the money, drive!” he shouts.
The car then scurries off. Fuck!
Turning back around I grab my gun and point at the last man standing. He has his gun already pointed at me but that’s nothing new.
“Stand down.” The man says.
“But if I stand, I’m standing up, I can’t logically stand down, that’s impossible.” I smirk, darkly.
I then shoot him in the head. He falls to the ground with a painful sounding thud. The kids then rush out of the car and come to hug me.
“I told you he’d save us Hannah!” Jason says, hugging the life out of me. “He’s our hero, a scary hero but our hero nonetheless!”
I smile.
“Okay, now let’s get you two home.” I say.

“Jamie is a fucking pussy, you know that?” I say.
“What did you do?” Dad asks me.
I shrug in response.
It’s the next day and I’ve safely returned Hannah and Jason to their guardians. Now I’m sitting in front of my father’s jail cell talking to him. I requested—no I demanded—Chief Caleb to let me see my father. I didn’t give him much choice since I barged passed as soon as he tried to stop me.
“Nothing unusual.” I reply. “I just paid him back for killing our spy and putting you jail for his murder.”
“Paid him how?”
Dad looks at me with skeptical eyes. He knows me so I know he knows that I did something I shouldn’t have, especially given the fact that I’m in the police station.
But I don’t care, they can’t put anything on me, I know how to eliminate with style.
Looking around I smirk before looking Dad right in the eyes.
“Wrath may or may not have killed his wife and left her hanging to dry.” I say my voice so low it’s like I’m not speaking at all.
“Damn it Wraith!” Dad exclaims.
“What, he had it coming!” I state. “And who is to say I’m done?”
“Me!” Dad growls. “I’m saying you’re done.”
I look around once again.
“You might want to keep your voice down.” I state. “No one is around us but there’s a thing called eavesdropping.”
Dad doesn’t respond. He just shakes his head with his hands on hips, looking at me with anger in his eyes.
“Look, Dad I had to do something, I couldn’t just sit at home doing not a damn thing while you’re in here rotting. You should be there!” I shout. “At home. With me! And Frani!”
“Sometimes life doesn’t always go the way it should.” Dad counters.
“Which is why there’s me.” I say. “To handle what the government and laws are too weak to do.”
“Wraith.” Dad says.
“Dad you can’t seriously be asking me to sit around and do nothing when you’re the only father I’ve ever known.” I state. “The only male father figure I have who loves me even when I came out as gay to you.”
I remember that day like it was yesterday and I have no plans of forgetting it either.
The feeling of being accepted by your father or father figure after telling him something so personal about yourself is a feeling indescribable.
It makes you feel so damn invincible to the world no matter what it says or does to try to tear you down.
I pity those who didn’t have the same when they came out to their parents.
“Because you’re my son.” Dad says. “I don’t give a fuck if we’re not blood related, it’s obvious, you’re Korean and I’m Native American, you speak Korean, I don’t. But that doesn’t change the fact that your fucking mine!”
“Which is why I’m avenging my father.” I state. “Karma takes too long to come around, so I expedited her shipment and was proud to deliver the package to Jamie’s front door personally.”
More like to one of his ceiling fans but who cares, right?
Dad sighs as he looks at me.
“There’s absolutely nothing I can say that you’ll abide by is there?” he asks.
“If it’s about staying calm and laying now, doing absolutely nothing, don’t waste your breath.” I state. “But if it’s a plan to destroy Jamie and his family’s name once and for all then I’m all ears.”
Dad smiles as a tiny chuckle escapes his lips.
“I’ve been... planning.” He says. “But none of them are ready.”
“You fucking hypocrite!” I smile.
He laughs. “How am I a hypocrite for wanting to keep my son safe?”
“You raised me to be in this world so I know how to handle my business while staying safe.” I respond.
“Well since I can’t keep a collar on you, if you come up with a plan to defeat Jamie, run it by the gang and make sure everyone is okay with it before initiating it, you understand me boy?”
I nod. “I understand.”
I then scoff before saying in Korean as I walk away from the cell,
“I’m not a boy, I’m a motherfucking man.”
“I heard that!” Dad says.
I smirk. He may have heard me, but he didn’t understand me.

Now that I have permission to do what I want about my fathers issue I’ve been sitting in my room trying to find out what really happened to Jullian, and why my father is thought to be behind his murder.
It’s been hours, the sun was still up when I started.
The moon now is in place of said sun and I’m still at my desk, attempting to hack into the security cameras Jamies gated neighborhood has.
I’ve just hacked into the security cameras when Grey Eyes walks into my room.
He walks up behind me and wraps his arms around me.
I look up at him, my hands brushing against his forearms.
“You still working?” he asks.
I hum in response.
“You need to eat.” He says.
I grab his forearms and use them to pull him in front of me. I grab his hips and make him fall into my lap. I lean into him and inhale his familiar scent. It’s calming, warm, and peaceful. I hum into his neck and begin to kiss it. He giggles and tries to pull away from me, but I won’t let him.
“Where you think you’re going?” I smile.
“You need to eat, my Dark Angel.”
“I was eating, until you tried to pull away.” I say.
My hands slide to his ass and I squeeze each cheek.
“But if you’re advertising an all you can eat buffet, I’m not opposed to it.” I add.
“Food, you need to eat food.” He clarifies.
“But what’s wrong with this, it’ll fill me up the same way, it’s even tastier.”
He laughs before getting up and off my lap, I reluctantly let him get up.
“I’ll go make you a plate.”
I smile.
“Thank you, pretty boy.”
He then exits my room and I go back to work.
I’m able to navigate my way through the tapes and find Jamie’s mansion.
I can go through the live footage or choose to go through the past recorded footage.
I’m about to click on the option to go through the footage recorded in the past when something catches my attention.
Zooming in on Jamie’s mansion I see a camera on his roof.
On the side of the camera is the name of the company who made the camera.
Looking up the name I discover that it’s a legit security company camera.
I smirk as another plan forms in my head.
Hopefully this plan will get me somewhere.
