Chapter 20

Mason

I don’t know how long we slept, but I wake up with her still in my arms, my cock pressed against her ass, hard as a rock. I wonder how she will react if I wake her up just to fuck again. I had a taste once and now I want more. I know now that I can do this without hurting her.

My hand slides down between her legs. She is still wet, and a deep groan resonates through the quiet room. Playing with her clit, I feel her sleeping body shiver and that turns me on even more. I am pretty sure I can’t get any harder than I am right now, but I guess I am wrong.

“Mason?” Her voice is a low, sensual whisper.

“Shhh, just go with it,” I kiss her cheek and then her shoulder.

With her hips pushing back into me, I can’t resist anymore. I lift her leg and slide inside her. A moan escapes her lips as she relaxes into the movement. Rhythmical and slow. I’m not going to rush this one. Not now. Sleepy sex is always the best and while she is the one I am with, there is nothing more I want.

“I’m still sensitive from earlier.” She tries to turn and face me, but I hold her in place.

“Just enjoy this moment.” I run my hand down her leg, across her hip, and to her clit. A whimper fills the quietness in the room.

The only other sound is my cock sliding in and out of her.

With the slow movements, it doesn’t take me long to feel the urge to release and she isn’t far off either. “That’s it, come for me again.” My voice is a whisper in her ear. “I want to feel you come on my cock.” My pace is picking up.

Her breathing becomes more ragged, her head rolling back into the crook of my neck. “That’s it, Princess,” I say again. “Just relax and let it go.”

Her body tenses slightly as she lets out a long moan, whispering my name at the end.

The moment her climax has reduced, my pace quickens once more and I’m coming inside her, my cock throbbing and pulsing with every release. “Oh fuck.” I push my cock as far inside her as I can, making sure she takes every last drop of me. Claiming her.

Wrapping my arms around her, my cock still deep inside her, we lay there for a moment before her breathing becomes more rhythmic and relaxed. It is in this moment that I know I will do everything for this woman. Just lying here as she falls asleep is one of many things I will do. Including keeping my cock inside her as I let it go soft, before shifting my hips slightly to slide it out.

It’s not long after she falls asleep, wrapped up in my arms once again, that I take a moment to breathe and focus. I have to go and see Rico before she wakes up. He is dangerous and I know that walking into Blackmere with her is a recipe for disaster. I am going to be like a sheep walking into a lion’s den, and I will not risk her life as well.

Although Rico is a sworn enemy of Murwood, maybe there is a way we can come together to take out one of the worst men in the Underbelly.

I agreed to Viv’s proposal because I think Rico will jump at the opportunity to take Sal out. He doesn’t realise that it is going to be a job for Viv. Then she will be able to heal.

“Princess?” I whisper. “Viv?”

She doesn’t move or respond. Now is the time for me to sneak away.

A quick glance at the clock tells me it is five in the morning. I should be over to Blackmere and back before she even wakes up.

I wrap her up in the blanket, keeping the temperature the same as what it is before I slowly slid out of bed. Throwing on last night’s clothes, I lean over and kiss her on the top of her head before quietly stepping out of the room and pulling the door closed behind me.

It is quiet out in the hallway, everyone is still sleeping. Perfect!

I quickly make my way out the door and to my car. Hopefully, this won’t take me too long.

Speeding through the streets, there isn’t a lot of traffic around, so it is easy to get there without any hassle. I sent Rico a text before I left the driveway and I made sure I had my gun with me as well. You never know what will happen.

M: You around?

R: At mine

R: What do you want so fucking early?

M: Need to talk. Important.

R: Meet at park behind compound.

M: OK

I just have to hope that he didn’t have anyone else nearby listening in. That could be bad. Real fucking bad. For me and Viv.

I’m about five minutes out from Rico’s compound when I become lost in thought about everything that has just happened with Viv. She has started to help me push through my need to control and to hurt people.

She doesn’t care what I have done; she only wants me, and she is willing to accept the monster inside me too.

A car horn blares at me as two bright lights come in my direction. Swerving back onto my side of the road, I regain my focus. Get to Rico and get back home before she wakes up. Easy enough.

The park is empty, except for one large man sitting alone on a bench under a singular street light, watching the sun rise. He looks to be alone, just sitting peacefully.

I pull into a parking space and cut the engine. Taking a breath, I step out of the car, closing the door behind me and walking over to that same bench, sitting down near him.

“Lovely sunrise”

“It is,” he says.

Rico is one of the people I grew up with. Our teenage years were spent together. Back when Sal first took over Murwood, Rico was there. Sal taught him how to shoot, how to attack and how to defend himself. He knows Sal’s anger better than anyone else, which is why, when he was old enough to leave, he packed his bags and found his way to Blackmere.

“What do you want, Mason?” He turns his head to look at me. There’s darkness in his features.

“I need a favour.”

“A favour?” He scoffs. “You are coming to me to ask for a fucking favour? After what you did?” He starts laughing.

“After what I did!” I raise my voice. “You were the one who stabbed Viv; she was lying in a hospital bed for weeks. You are the one who should be sorry in this situation, but that’s not why I am here.” I run my hand over my face. “No, this is about Sal.”

He holds up his hand, cutting me off, and for the first time, I notice a gun in his hand. Shit .

“Sal can die in a fucking hole for all I care.” He grabs hold of my upper arm. “But after you stalked and decided to kill my brother, what makes you think that I would do any-fucking-thing for you?”

“That wasn’t my choice.” I slowly move my hand behind my back to grab my gun. “That was a direct order. You know we can’t sit back and not do anything, or it’s our heads on that chopping block.”

He releases my arm. “Fuck, you’re right, but I still don’t know why it had to be my brother.”

I palm my gun and move my hand around my front.

“Think about it, man. You know exactly why it had to be him.” I watch as his expression pains.

He was promised Viv the moment she saw her thirteenth birthday. It is why her mother wanted to get them out of there. She never liked Rico and she told me that no matter what, when she died, Viv becomes my responsibility.

The gun in Rico’s hand shines under the light above us as his hand twitches. The muscle in his jaw ticks as he clenches his teeth. He is pissed off and I know he is about to crack, so I have to be careful with what I say and not make sudden movements.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath in before looking back at Rico. “I also saw him trying to assault one of the young waitresses at Gravel and Grit that night. You know my views on people who do that. I couldn’t let him get away with that.”

Rico rubs his eyes with his hand and grumbles. “He has always been a stupid fucking little prick. I tried to keep him in line so many times. When Rhys took us in after I walked out on Sal fourteen years ago, he would always tell me that Carlos’s stupidity would get him killed one day.” He sits up a little straighter, turning to face me. “I guess his stupidity had to show itself in front of the one and only Viper. Did you have to make it so gory?”

“Look man, I really am sorry,” I say, as if the word sorry would bring his brother back. He still looks like he wants to kill me.

“So what do you want from me?” he asks, a ‘let’s get down to business’ look on his face. His voice is dark and I am now a little wary about continuing my request.

“I need you to send another threat to Sal in relation to kidnapping his daughter,” I start, watching as his expression changes from anger to curiosity.

“Why?” He purses his lips and tilts his head slightly.

“I want Sal” — I pause, am I doing the right thing by voicing this? — “No, Genevieve wants Sal gone. She wants to take him out, and for her to heal, she needs to be the one to do it, but…”

I don’t know if I can continue with what I am asking. Did that make me any better than the rest? Am I going to stage a kidnapping but not tell the person who is getting kidnapped?

I can’t tell her. It needs to be realistic, there needs to be a sign of struggle.

“But what?” He rests his elbows on his knees as his right foot bounces up and down. Is he considering this, or is he just playing a game with me?

“But I need you to kidnap her, take her from the house. Make it seem like you were able to get to her a lot easier than security allows.” I sigh. “Then I need you to look after her. If I know any other place she will be safe, it is around Blackmere, with you. I want you to help train her for any potential danger.”

His hand rubs the back of his neck, a small crease forming between his brows, making me wonder if I can trust him. I know he won’t do anything to hurt her. “Is there a catch?”

“The only thing I know for certain is that when she takes out Sal, she will rule Murwood, so making sure you are on her good side when that happens will be a must. She is very strong-willed.”

“I am aware of that.” He lifts his shirt to the scar just above his hip. “She did this to me when I ran into her outside the mansion grounds. She seemed to be in a hurry to get away from something.” My face falls, just before Rico smirks. “Or someone. What the fuck did you do to her, Hawthorne?”

“Nothing. It’s none of your business.” I stand up off the bench. “So are you in or are you out?” My hand out-stretches to shake his. He stands there for a moment, his features flashing between anger and amusement. If he doesn’t want to help I am so fucking screwed.

“I’m in,” he says after a brief moment. “When do you want it to be done?”

“Give it three days. I’ll send you a text of where to go and how to get in.” He shakes my hand and we both part our separate ways.

Am I doing the right thing? I sure fucking hope so.

The whole drive back to the mansion is a little more relaxed but I am still thinking about what I am doing and if keeping Viv out of the loop on this one is the right thing to do. The kidnapping has to be believable and if there are no signs of her struggling, then Sal will just think his daughter threw a tantrum and ran away from home again.

Pulling up in front of the gates, I sit there for a moment, wondering what I’m going to do, what I will tell her. She is going to know something is up and I can’t avoid her. That would just end up hurting her all over again and I’m not about to do that, but not giving her all the information is going to hurt her anyway. Either way I am screwed.

The gates open with a light squeak and I make my way back up to the house. I step out of my car and all I can hear is Sal yelling. “Where is he? Where the fuck is Viper?!”

What the fuck is going on? Things are getting weird. Sal is becoming more and more paranoid.

Atlas slips out through the big double doors and freezes when he sees me. “Dude, Sal is fucking losing his mind in there!” The sound of a vase smashing on the tiles has us both snapping our heads in the direction of the sound. “Give it two minutes, he is rampaging his way back to his office. You’ll be able to get to your room safely then.”

I give Atlas a nod before he disappears down the driveway. It looks like he is going for a jog. The screech of the front gates opening is a sign that he has just left the place, getting away from the chaos going down inside.

Standing at the doors, I somehow manage to hear the office door slam shut, which allows me to try and get back up to my room. It is going to be rough if Sal catches me after what I have just planned. The guys that witnessed Sal’s earlier outburst watch me as I slowly make my way into the foyer. Hopefully, that means he is still in his office.

I have made it up to the top of the stairs and am about to walk down to my room when the office door below me opens and angry footsteps make their way down the hall. “Viper!” Sal yells from the base of the stairs. I freeze, waiting for him to move further. He stays in place.

Turning to face him, I fold my arms across my chest. “Yes boss?”

“Where the fuck is she?” he spits.

“Where is who?” I am in a ‘poke the bear’ kind of mood. After everything he has done to Viv, I’m not giving into him that easily now.

“You know damn well who I am talking about.” He starts making his way up the stairs towards me. “She isn’t in her room and you were the last person seen with her. Now where the fuck is she?”

“She is away from you.” I turn away, heading back to my room, but he grasps my arm before I can move a step further, turning me around to face him. He slaps me with an open palm across my right cheek, causing my head to whip to the side.

He pushes past me, making his way down to my room. My voice lowers to a growl. “If you even think about stepping foot into that room, you will regret it.”

He turns to face me. “What the fuck did you do with my daughter!” He is right in my face now but I’m not going to bite. He wants me to get angry but I’m not going to give him that satisfaction.

“She is safe” is my only response.

He waves a piece of paper in my face now. “Then why am I still getting threats from Rico?”

I raise a brow at him. That boy moves fast . He must have had that one locked and loaded.

“There are more?” I keep my tone calm.

“You better watch yourself boy! I know you had something to do with this.” Sal turns and storms off down the stairs. “Once I find out you had a part in this, I’ll – I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” I shrug. “There’s not a lot you can do to me, old man. I’m stronger and faster than you.”

He stands there for a moment, his face turning red. I stay at the top of the stairs and wait until he walks back down the hallway towards his office before I open the door to my room.

Stepping into my familiar darkness, the smell of Viv fills the room. A light glow from behind the curtains illuminates her sitting there on my bed, wrapped in my sheet. A tired yet curious look graces her face.

Well fuck me sideways . I thought she would still have been asleep. Come to think of it, I’m not surprised she is awake; her father has been yelling fairly loud. I’m certain they heard him in the next town over.
