Chapter 61 Strangers
Strangers
The hotel room was a crime scene.
Everywhere, proof that they had loved each other here.
The next morning, at the airport, was even worse. Nicole got out of the taxi, then stood at the curb, motionless and crooked and numb, as Logan helped her with her suitcase, pressed his lips together as she whispered thank you, and disappeared into the crowd.
Just like that, it was over.
Their summer, shattered.
Their story, finished.
He was gone.
They were strangers.
