26. Watching Him Touch Her
CHAPTER 26
WATCHING HIM TOUCH HER
Leo
I can't believe I'm allowing this shit to go down.
After speaking with the rest of the club we all decided that Phoenix had a good plan with Nisa going back in to spy on Marc and get us more information. I fought hard against it but the alternative was letting Marc run around without knowing who the hell or what the hell he was doing simply because I wanted to protect my ol' lady.
She'd still end up hurt in that instance.
Now I have to settle with looking and hearing what she's going through by way of a speaker and the playback from the hidden camera in her earrings.
There was no way I was going to let her go into Marc's den without some sort of reassurance.
Not only was she wired up but she was also with Phoenix. I didn't know much about the kid besides the fact that he was Rumble's brother and that he wanted to apply for a prospect run with Chrome Creed. Now I was having to trust that Nisa would be safe with him. I hate every fucking minute of this shit.
"Leo, it's going to be all right. She can hear us talking to her and we can see everything that's going on around her. The minute she's in danger Phoenix will get her out and we'll get to Phoenix." Virus says from his post in front of the screen that shows us the video feed from Nisa's camera.
Virus is one of the techie's I've ever encountered so when we knew for sure that we were going to send her in to talk with Marc I made sure he came up with something state of the art to protect her.
The silver drop pearl earrings were perfect, not only because they were heavy enough that they didn't swing around too much but the spherical shape of the earrings made it so we had a 360 view of what was going on around her.
"What the hell is that?" Tella asks and points to one of the videos.
My eyes follow his finger and my mouth drops open as I take in what he's pointing at. I thought Marc was only interested in the drug game but the number of weapons he's got stockpiled in the small room let me know that he wasn't just playing when he told me that he was ready for whatever we threw at him.
Marc looks like he's ready to go to war.
"If we get our hands on that shit we'd be straight for a long while," Spike says from where he's sitting next to me.
I don't respond. I see everything the boys are pointing out but I'm more focused on what's going on with Nisa. She hasn't met up with Marc yet and I hear her breathing getting quicker.
She's getting nervous.
"Nisa, we're right here. Don't worry." I press the button so I can speak to her.
"I know." She says softly and her head bobs up and down.
"I got her," Phoenix says into his mini microphone. "It's game time."
I puff out a deep breath and sit back in the chair as I watch the two of them walk through a large door and into a big room. It's filled with workers. None of them look happy to be there. They're naked, completely as far as I can see and they're cutting up drugs to be packaged.
"Marc, you have a visitor," Phoenix calls out and Nisa moves forward in a jerky motion. It seems like he might have pushed her. I growl low and grab hold of the arms of the chair. I should ring his fucking neck for putting his damn hands on her.
"He's got to make it look real Prez," Lash says from next to me.
I nod once. I know it's true but that still doesn't make it any better to me.
"No, it can't be!" Marc speaks from somewhere out of focus and Nisa turns her head just in time to show us a panel of the wall that is being moved out of the way and Marc stepping out from behind.
Is that how they got out of the laundromat before? Does he have secret passageways to ensure that he gets out of danger? If we can cut off those passageways it would almost guarantee that we'd beat him at his own game.
"Tella, I'm betting he's got more of those secret tunnels in his building. Can we find out a way to get the blueprints or maybe just where the tunnels let out?" I look over to him and he nods his head.
"I'll look into it. There's always a paper trail." He replies.
I focus my attention back on Nisa who is walking over towards Marc. "I'm not here for trouble." She says, that fire in her voice I'm used to already tampered down.
"I think you are. Tell me what did those bastards over there at Chrome Creed pay you to do this?" Marc reaches forward and grabs her hair hard enough for her to scream out.
"No! Fuck no!" I'm out of my seat before the sound of her cry ends.
"Leo! Prez, just wait!" Rumble stands in my way. "She's okay. She's okay!" He puts his hands up trying to calm me down but I don't want to be calmed, I want to get my woman.
"Marc, get your hands off me." Nisa snarls at him and my eyes drift back to the screen. "They didn't pay me to do anything. I want my brother's body." She says offering him the excuse that we'd all come up with.
It makes sense for her to go back to Marc in order to find out where he dumped Hugh's body. After all, Marc was the only one who knew where it was.
"You think I'm just going to give it back to you after all you've done to me. You messed up everything. You fucking bitch!" Marc yelled down into Nisa's face before he shoved her hard to the floor.
My muscles tense up again but I relax slightly when I see her turn and look back at him. "I messed it up? Are you kidding me? None of what you have been doing was part of any plan that I was included in. You put my mother in the hospital for Christ's sake. I know you want to take over the Chrome Creed territories but how the hell do you do that if you're just killing random innocent people? There were civilians at that party where the bomb went off. How the hell are you going to explain that." Nisa questions.
"Come on, Nisa, you actually think I'm going to need to explain anything? Hell the minute it went off I was in the clear, Sheriff Bobbins was the first leading officer on the scene. If the plan had fucking worked the way it was supposed to one of those bastards would have already taken the fall for any casualties." Marc flips his hand in the sky and my mouth drops again.
Sheriff Bobbins had been on my ass since he got his title. I always thought he was one of those lawmen who did everything by the book. If he's working for Marc there's no fucking book with him. He's just a conniving cheat like the rest of them.
"That's an added issue," Spike says.
He's not lying if Sheriff Bobbins is on his payroll, there's no telling what he might do to get one of us behind bars. I've been to the clink before and so have most of the boys in the club but it's never easy time no matter how long we stay inside.
"We'll deal with it when we have to," I grumble.
"I didn't know. I thought..." Nisa sighs and looks away. She's playing this part well. Almost too well. It's making me edgy.
"It doesn't matter what you thought Nisa, all that matters is you've learned from your mistakes." Marc walks over to her slowly kneeling, getting close to her face. "Have you learned your lesson?"
"I just want this all to end. Leave my mother alone. Let me have Hugh's body back. I don't want to do this anymore."
Marc puts a hand under her chin and lifts her head so she's looking at him. "I thought you found your match with Leonidas. What happened to your happily ever after."
"I was never happy with him. He treats me worse than you do. I was only there with them because I was scared of you." She tilts her head and I watch her reach up to him. I can't stop the snarl pushing my lips up. "Do I have to be scared of you now Marc? I'm back home. Can I stop being scared?"
"You think I want you back?" Marc asks with a sinister glare.
"I have more information, they're weak, floundering. If you promise to leave me and my family alone I'll tell you what I know."
"What the fuck?" Rumble barks.
I don't know what Nisa is doing but this wasn't part of the plan either. She's going off on a tangent.
"There she goes, that's what I want to hear. How about this? You get me some solid information, find me something I can really work with and we can talk about you not being scared anymore. We'll call this a truce. What do you say?" Marc puts his hand down, reaching for her face and all I want to do is barge in there and knock that condescending look off his face.
Marc helps her off the ground and I watch through the video feed as he pulls her close to his face once again.
"You know one of the main reasons I was so upset that you were over there with Leo is because I don't think I've ever gotten a chance to let you know just how good I think the two of us could be together. I didn't make my move before because I didn't want you to think that's all I wanted from you but now that I know that's what you're looking for I'm ready to take the next steps if you are." Marc tilts Nisa's head and I press my hands against the thin metal table behind me.
"Don't you fucking do it. Don't do it." I mumble, my blood already boiling with fury at what it looks like is about to happen.
I notice Rumble hasn't flipped the switch to allow me to talk to Nisa.
"Pres, she's got to do this. He needs to think she's completely on his side." Spike says and I stuff down a deep growl. I know he's right. I've got to let this go. But every second that passes the more pissed I get.
"Yes, that's what I want," Nisa whispers back and in the next second Marc dips his face to hers and then they're making out like teenagers in the back of a fucking car.
I've never been a jealous man in my life. Never cared enough for a woman to give a damn if they were interested in someone else but the minute I hear Marc groan and watch him clutch Nisa to his body it feels like every last bone in my body is vibrating with anger.
I throw my head back on a roar as turn away from the video and punch my hand against the metal table over and over again until there's a dent and a stain from my bloody knuckles.
The boys don't even attempt to get me under control. There's no way for me to get under control at this moment. I can't even bother to listen to any more of the conversation that they might have had.
The next thing I know Spike is tapping me on the shoulder and letting me know that she and Phoenix are on their way out. They are going to drive down a little bit of the way before Phoenix is going to let her out of the car and into our van. By the time we get to the meetup point, I feel like I've broken both of my hands and the ringing in my ears is barely died down.
"Leo?" Nisa calls for me when she's finally back in the van with us but I can't force myself to look in her direction. All I can think about is Marc's hands on her. The way he groaned.
I wonder if she liked it. Did she want him to touch her, touch her the same way I did?
I shoot a glance in her direction but I don't say a word. I can't. My body aches in a way I've never felt before. I'm not sure what to do about it but I know if I don't get myself under control soon I'm not going to be able to and whatever trust I have for Nisa is going to be worth shit.
"Leo, it's over bro," Spike says getting close to me.
My head snaps in his direction and I push him away from me. I don't need anyone to tell me that she's standing right in front of me. I see her but I also can't stop the images of that fuck touching her from assaulting me every time I blink.
She's mine.
I've waited so fucking long to make her mine, the thought of someone else even getting close to her is driving me insane.
I want to wait. Want to make it perfect for her, but maybe making it perfect is a pipe dream.
If she needs someone to touch her, it's going to be me.
