Chapter 26 #2

The asshole in question places himself beside me, his dark hair slicked back and his beady eyes pretending to watch the fight as his hand gropes me.

I take a slow breath as his grin grows wider, a sleazy satisfied look spreading across his face, as if he thinks I’m enjoying his old greasy fingers fondling my ass.

Then suddenly his grin falls, his face twisting in pain.

He turns toward me as I tighten my grip on his hand and with another flick of my wrist, I snap another one of his fingers. He groans in pain before gritting his teeth. His other hand lashes out toward me, trying to grab me, but quickly falls when I snap a third finger.

“ Bitch. ” He spits out between whimpers.

I yank his hand forward, twisting it behind his back as his knees give way. He tries again to hit me as we move but I dodge it, swiping his nearest knee and snapping his wrist as he falls forward.

“Fucking whor–” His words are cut short as his eyes widen in terror. Black marks quickly form around his neck and look almost like smoke, coiling around him like a noose. He begins to gasp and struggle for air as a large shadow falls over us.

“Who do you think you are, causing shit in my domain?” Creed's face is like stone, a fury and rage in them I hadn’t seen before.

A dark energy forms around him, emanating power and dominance. My eyes instinctively fall to the floor for a brief second before I remind myself that I no longer fear anyone or anything.

I pull my eyes from the ground and look around me to see the room. The crowd has fallen silent, their heads turned away or turned down. I turn back toward Creed and am met with two black swirling orbs with silver irises.

A shiver runs down my spine, my instincts screaming to turn away, but a louder voice in my head telling me to stare him down.

Creed's brow furrows as his dark eyes continue to gaze toward me, only turning away when a gurgling noise rings out beside us.

Right , the sleazeball.

I look at the black coils tightening around his neck with Creed's fierce gaze on him.

Was this Creed's ability, his power…these black coils?

I hear a rattling nearby and the clang of metal, followed by a few gasps before a huge dark figure jumps toward the man choking on the floor. I watch as a foot kicks the man in the face and sends him tumbling into the people around us, all of them falling like bowling pins with the force of it.

Annex turns to me, his eyes scanning my body before turning and narrowing toward the man gasping on the ground just mere metres from us.

“Annex?”

He whips back around to me, his face a mess with blood dripping down his torso and fists. He looks as if he just walked off a horror set, except I know the blood isn’t fake. Or his own.

“Yeah, Red?” His brows are still drawn downward, but his expression slightly softens as he gazes at me.

I hear a shuffling sound and a low whimper, and try to peer around Annex’s bloodied body to where the sleazeball fell, but he was gone.

Mallyn heads over to us from that direction, giving Creed a small nod.

Creed's stony face begins to relax, his black and silver eyes fading into his usual golden amber shade.

A warmth surrounds me from behind, a sweet calming scent instantly hitting me; like honey and lavender mixed with a slight salty undertone. It tickles my nose as an arm wraps around me and turns me toward it.

Ezra's brows are synched together, his face wearing a strange expression as his gaze trails up and down me.

The longer I stare at him, I notice he now wears lipstick stains on his shirt, his hair is dishevelled, and a new unnaturally sweet scent is mixing with his own.

It makes me feel sick the longer I smell it.

I shake his hands off and take a step back from him. “I’m okay.”

His face slightly pales as I move away from the sickly smell, and turn back toward Annex.

“...Make it slow.” Is all I hear from Annex’s conversation with Creed before he notices my gaze.

“Red, it's never a dull moment with you.” The grin he wears is almost contagious. Almost.

“Where's the asshole gone?” I hope he hadn't gotten away. Assholes like that needed a little more than just a few broken fingers to learn a lesson.

The sickening look in his eyes had my hackles up. It was a twisted look I’d grown too used to from the guards in the Facility and from creeps like Adam Manser and Dean Phillips. Boys who thought they were above you and could take what they want with no repercussions.

And I didn’t want some young girl getting caught in the crossfire later on.

I’m looking around the room when I hear Annex chuckling.

“What, did you want to finish him off, Red?”

“...Maybe.”

Annex’s laugh cuts off, his gaze unreadable for just a brief moment before a wicked grin stretches his lips.

The others fall silent around us too. And I could feel each of their gazes on me.

Did they think I was crazy? That I was taking it too far ?

“We’re going back,” Barks Creed as he turns toward me, “Fights over.”

“Pity.” I call.

“You wanted in, Red?” Annex steps closer, a dark glint in his eyes as they trail down my body. “Or do you just like the idea of being locked in a cage with me?”

A smirk stretches my lips.

Annex was crazy and unpredictable, and the complete opposite of Mr. Valor, so I would be lying if I said the thought of sparring with him didn’t excite me a little.

“Who needs a cage, or even a reason…” I take a step closer, the tips of my shoes hitting his as I stare into his eyes, “I’ll take you anytime.”

A slight tremor works its way down Annex as he closes his eyes before slowly opening them again. He shakes his head before gazing down at me, a grin that screams sin growing on his lips.

He leans in closer, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispers. “Don't make promises you can’t keep–”

“I don't.” I meet his gaze as he tilts his head toward me, his lips just a fraction from mine as our breaths begin to mix together.

A throat clears behind us as Ezra awkwardly rubs the back of his neck, his gaze flickering back and forth between me and Annex.

“Creeds waiting.” His eyes lands on me, his mouth slightly opening before quickly closing again, a questioning look forming in his eyes before he quickly schools it. He shakes his head before turning around and walking in Creed's direction.

I pull away from Annex and follow behind Mallyn and Ezra as we make our way out to the now empty parking lot.

We head over to the bikes when Annex suddenly starts chuckling.

“Damn Red, you look hot in leather. How the fuck did I not notice it before?”

Ah. I was still wearing his jacket. With everything going on I had forgotten.

I pull it off as he raises his hand, a frown pulling at his lips.

“I wasn’t asking for it back…it suits you.”

I take it off and throw it to him. “You look like you need it more.”

He was covered in blood, his torso and face splattered in the red crimson liquid with only his bare inked skin beneath it. He slides a hand down his bare and bloodied torso before meeting my eyes again.

“ Ah , the jealous type…I like it. I’ll cover up for now .” He gives me a wink and puts his jacket on, a mischievous grin pulling at his cheeks. But he soon freezes, pulling the collar toward his face and taking a deep breath in, a small groan leaving his lips. “... Fuckin’ hell.”

“Annex!” Creed shouts from the dodge charger, his expression back to its familiar cold and stoney glare.

Ezra jumps in beside him as he calls “Let's move!”, while Creed revs his engine.

“Fine, Fine.” Annex reaches into his jacket pocket, his brows furrowing before he checks the other one.

I take the keys out of my trouser pocket, twirling them around my fingers as I make my way over to his crimson Ducati.

I slide my hand over the cold metal before throwing my leg over and straddling the bike.

All eyes are on me as I lean forward and put the keys in the engine and let it roar to life beneath me.

A large grin pulls at my cheeks as I grip the handles, letting its roar ring out again around us. I turn back towards Annex. “Let's go.”

Annex breaks out laughing before quickly making his way toward me.

“Wait,” Calls Ezra, “Do you know how to drive that?” He nods toward the Ducati purring under me.

I turn toward him and the stony faced Creed, “I’m a quick learner.”

“Fuck no!” Shouts Creed from his car.

“Fuck Yesss .” Shouts Annex as he climbs on the back behind me.

He wraps his arms around my waist and leans further into me until he's flush against me, with something very hard and very large hitting into my lower back.

“Be gentle, Red…” His lips hum in my ear, his grin growing against my neck as his hands tighten around my waist. “I’m not used to someone else taking the reins.”

I shake my head as he chuckles.

Gripping the handles, I rev the engine again as I go over the route we took here in my head.

Slowly I begin to make my turn out of the parking lot just as Mallyn pulls up beside me, his pace matching mine as I quickly get the hang of this.

He stays beside me as we pass the closed shops and dimly lit roads.

And just as we’re turning out of town and toward the road to the academy, a car pulls out in front of us.

I hit the brakes a little too quickly and me and Annex jostle forward, just as Creed and Ezra pull up beside us. And if looks could kill…Creed would have me dead and buried twice over.

Annex just chuckles, “If I die, at least it's by your sexy hands, Red.” He fixes himself against me. “I’m not scared to–”

“Thanks for the support.” I grumble.

“But dying–”

I shift myself back into him, my ass hitting his already hard dick as a guttural grunt falls from his lips and cuts off his words. “Quiet. I need to focus.”

A throaty hum rings from his lips in response as he tightens his grip around me, his fingers lacing around my front as a warmth floods each area he touches.

I push down the strange thoughts and start driving again, the roads to the academy more empty as we leave town.

Speeding up, Annex chuckles behind me while I bend and swerve down the curving roads, enjoying the ride and feel of power between my thighs.

Mallyn stays beside me for the most part. His bike jumps back and forth, circling around us as we move with ease together. And I swear I see a small grin playing on his face as we ride side by side.

Creed and Ezra keep behind us the whole way, but at a small distance. Probably worried I’d scratch his precious car.

We ride toward the academy, the grey brick building and large black gates now looming in the distance, and a strange new feeling comes over me. One wishing this night and this ride would last for just a bit longer.
