Violet pov

I stripped off my clothes and started digging in my bag for something yellow....again.

That outfit seemed to be the only one I had.

Defeated I sat down on my bed, lying across it like a starfish in only my undies.

I slowly mind-linked my sister.

Viola does you by chance have something yellow I could borrow?

Her reply can almost instantaneously," yes love in my room...hurry up you already so damn late the pack grounds are so full.

I blew out a huff of air. Before walking out my door. If everyone was on the grounds there should be no one in the packhouse, right?

I made my way down the hall to my sister's room. I cracked open her wardrobe and pulled out a pale yellow sundress.

This shall do

I pulled it over my body. And turned to face Viola's mirror. Quickly I braided my hair and slipped on one of her strappy flip flops.

I hurried out of her room, but I never made it far as my body collided with another.

I looked up, half excepting to see an unknown face but was shockingly surprised to see the same eyes of Alpha Xander. The same mysterious piercing green eyes.

Immediately I dropped my head and apologized." Sorry Alpha Xander I am in a rush."

"Xander." His husky voice spoke. It was a sexy husky voice, not the kind you hear when a person smoked too many packs of cigarettes.

"I am sorry alpha?" I reply not really hearing him over the sound of my rushing heart beat.

"You can just call me Xander."

I nodded and walked next to him to the grounds, I kept at least two ruler lengths between us as we made our way.

I did not want to get in trouble again. My life here in the north really sucked, from finding a mate who is crazy.

..a stupid folklore where I end up dead and now an extremely powerful Alpha wants me to call him by his name near my apparently possessive not so real by real mate.

Anyway, me being a hormonal teenager, caused me to sneak glances at Xander as we walked down to the grounds.

His brown hair was styled perfectly, with his deep red roots barely starting to show, he had on a pale yellow shirt that matched the color of my dress.

His top was tucked into deep black jeans all being topped off with a midnight black watch.

We made our way outside to where the branding ceremony was held.

"My pack, thank you for joining here again as we welcome your delta female Brielle," Ian's voice boomed through the land even louder than the cheering for Brie.

"She, unfortunately, will not be marked as a member of our pack as she is a sub heir to the Mountain Range pack."

Ian cleared his throat, his eyes searched the crowd until it landed on me. He gave me a slight nod before speaking again.

This is it! He is going to make us his Luna. My wolf yelped.

Hope was jumping around within me, building up my butterflies and excitement.

"My pack your Luna --Aimee Lee Olsen."

Everything to me came to a standstill. People celebrating and jumping soon slowed down. There was no audio. Like I was stuck in some sick retro movie.

Ian picked up the metal brander and placed it hard on her shoulder blade. I could see how she hissed in pain.

Everything hit me at once, first the uncontrollable noise, then the static truth, and lastly the pain that erupted from my shoulder blade. I fell back. Landing in a heap on the ground.

The noise caught Xander's attention.

He turned around at lightning speed and placed his hand under my head, protecting it as it fell to the ground.

He kept saying something but all I could concentrate on was was Ian was holding Aimee's neck and I watched as he slowly bit down on her.

Marking her. She screamed and fell into a pool of unconsciousness.

And soon I followed. I kept slipping in and out of consciousness.

My wolf was out it was only my human side keeping me awake. Keeping me alive and sane.

Xander noticing my state lifted me closer to him and ran back into the house. Over his shoulder I saw no one else following us ... they all busy celebrating their Luna.

Xander entered my room or what looked like my room and placed me on the bed, from my seat I looked in the mirror opposite the bed.

Deep black and green outlined veins made their way from where I was supposed to be marked up the top of my face going down into my dress.

I never had the heart to look how far it does travel.

I looked up at Xander. My times filled with consciousness getting shorter and shorter.

"He was your mate wasn't he?"

I nodded, the only thing I could now do.

"That son of a -"

And as my batteries gave away and so did I. My body just slipping into a peaceful sleep.

·······································

Slowly peeling my eyes open I got up from a truly uncomfortable sleep.

Nightmares haunted me the whole night.

As well and the burns throughout my body.

Slowly I stood up, my knees were wobbly but they never buckled.

I made my way to my mirror and lifted my shirt.

Think dark bruises made their way across my body. Sore at the touch.

It happened, he marked her. Not me. He is planning to go through with his plan.

Slowly I made my way to the bathroom wanting to clean myself off and start fresh.

·························

I packed the last of the items in my bag before I made my way down with my suitcase. I set my suitcases down in the foyer next to the coat stand. Slowly I placed my bow and arrow case on top of it and ventured out into the kitchen hoping to score some grub before I head out.

But then again fate is never on my side. The kitchen was full of laughter, filled with blue moon.

"Violet!" My sister shouted from her seat on Reese's lap.

"Hey, Vi." I respond

"What's up girl you look tired." She exclaimed as she made her way towards me and rested her hand on my cheek, slowly caressing it.

"I am ok. Just came to inform you that I am leaving. Wanna head back south for the summer."

"You leaving because of the ancient myth, story? " exclaimed Viola," Reese told me about it yesterday. I am so sorry Violet."

I guess she knows, with what I planned to do there is no way that I will be able to beat her, she was too strong with her mate and her pack at her side.

I guess if this myth is true, then I am happy Ian didn't choose me, being Alpha Female would have made me stronger, I could have never hurt my sister.

I gave a pity smile," I wanna go back home..there is so much I have not done yet."

"Oh like the pack warrior thing right?" This was the first time I noticed Aimee at the back of the kitchen.

I nodded.

"Oh, so you weren't joking about that Viola..lucky you don't have to go do that anymore."

I raised my eyebrows at her statement, clearly confused with whatever she was going at.

"Don't look so confused, you both are twins, Im sure you already know how much your sister hated the idea of being a warrior, yet knowing you, you must have been super persistent."

I stepped back but not before noticing Viola shoot a harsh glare at Aimee.

"You don't know me so your confused my sister and I both wanted.." but words left my mouth as I took in Viola's guilty expression.

"Violet..."

"No! I cut my sister of ...what is this? Tell her that you also dreamed of being the warrior."

"Love there is no way we would win, Sean is too strong, he is triple the size of us...we wasting our time."

That was a hard blow. I knew we weren't that strong but we had the pack warrior blood within us.

"But we've been training for the past five years...and you tell me now that you want nothing to do with it?"

Anger was rising within me, this weekend was not going well.

"Well, I think.."

I growled at her," shut up blondie!"

Right now I was in overdrive, I was beyond pissed, she interferes with my mate, she will not interfere with my sister and myself.

"Look how she is talking to me, Ian!" Aimee shouted staring past me.

I didn't turn around.

I didn't have to.

Soon Reese stood up so fast, he turned facing Ian.

"Alpha rogues, one of the pack members mind linked me, it near the west border. There is a lot of the Alpha."

Now, I turned, just to catch Ian's turning and leaving.

"Violet, you coming?" Dylan asks bouncing at his feet

"What no, I will come, it is my pack to protect, "Viola said

Reese shook his head," you are emotional, I won't be able to protect my pack as I will be too worried about protecting you. And your sister looks like she could use the stress relief.

So Violet?"

He was right, I think I needed it, I was going to break someone's bones might as well be rogues.

I walked out of the kitchen behind Reese, grabbing my bow and arrow from the foyer and running out towards the sound of chaos.

And it truly was chaos, the were more wolves this time around compared to the first time.

I scanned my area, rule one when defending. There was no higher platform for me to aim. So I just ran to the center of the fight.

Aimed and Fired.

It felt good, with every arrow to leave my bow, I felt every problem leave my soul.

That was until a very clever ginger wolf chose me as his target.

He circled me growling. Before screening forward.

It flings his head at my bow and arrows, ripping them or if my hand and tossing them into a far tree.

He growled and gave a wolffish smirk before charging again.

I charged to, in human form, then he jumped, I jump and in mid-air, I shifted to my wolf.

······································

Fighting in wolf form was not my forte as I was smaller than the average male wolf. But it was not impossible.

The fight did carry on for a few after that and the rouges I fought managed to land a few on me, from what I could tell I had a bruised jaw and a ton of scratches.

Ian's wolf howled signaling the end of the fight. He then changed into human form, followed by Reese, Dylan, Dave, and Xander. When did he join the fight?

I remained in wolf form having torn my clothes mid-air. I stood still, listening to the blood being pumped through my veins, slowly the adrenaline was starting to run out and I could feel the pain and fatigue.

"Hope?"

I looked up at Dylan, "are you okay...you look tired."

"Hope? Whose that?" Xander asked stepping to my right. I turn my words head to the ground and looked anywhere but the naked alpha.

"Violet"

I could feel Xander's stare, not truly knowing his personality I did not want to take the chance of being reprimanded by him. So I ran, I ran back to the packhouse. When Brie, Aimee, Alana, and Viola were waiting, the boys hot on my trail.

As soon as we came in viewing distance of the house the girls started to run towards us -well towards their mate. I just ran past them into the packhouse. In the foyer, I shifted back and slipped on a dress.

My reflection was terrible, my hair was everywhere and I had a nasty gash to my lip.

I swiftly entered the bathroom, to clean up my cuts and get my hair in order.

If I thought that my body was sore this morning then my body's going through hell now.!

I gently placed the tissue and wiped the remaining blood off my lip before I left the bathroom.

Everyone was in the foyer.

Viola rushed and hugged me... one that I didn't reply to.

She pulled back," Violet I-"

"No.. last five years , you could have told me no, I wouldn't have forced you. You didn't have to pity me. You of all people know that I hate being pitied."

I broke away from her grasp and picked up my bags. Throwing one over my shoulder and the other I pulled. I tried to ignore everyone's stares as I made my way to the door.

I was so close when Ian's hand slapped out and grabbed my arms. Sparks that is all could feel. I looked up at him to see his eyes pleasurably closed as he absorbed whatever our touch was giving off. To be honest I felt it too.

Roughy I shoved his hand off me and turned to face him.

"Let me go," I growled.

Aimee stepped forward," mind your tongue."

I gave her a sharp look that made her step back into her original place.

"Stand down Violet." Ian murmurs

"No," I had enough I am not going to sit back and be his mistress in disguise as he feeds off the mate bond like some parasite.

So I did something that I have never dreamed of doing.

I am sorry hope

" I Violet Hope Mickelson reject you, Ianos Stride, as my mate."

The gasp around the room was deadly.

I stared at Ian who had a surprised look on his face.

"You need to accept the rejection."

Ian stared at me. I looked away at my sister.

"I'll be leaving now."

"No, you can not leave and you cannot reject me as I will not accept this rejection," Ian stated firmly in his alpha voice.

"She will leave."

We all turned our heads to Xander, he stood against the opposite wall, the only one of everyone who was not surprised.

"You can't make her suffer, again and again, you can see her condition! Let her go." Dylan says

That's when Ian burst." You have no damn right to speak to me like this! I am the Alpha here! She is my mate!"

In the corner of my eyes I saw Aimee cower back, part of my heart broke for her, yet she has no right to call someone her mate who was not truly her's.

"You have no clue what I am going through-" Ian started, knowing him he was going to give that long lecture about how he lied to his packs and his pack will disown him blah blah.

"Yes I do and you know it!" Xander roared through the room. Causing the frames to shake, he was loud.

"Accept her rejection and then she can leave."

"No," Ian stated," I will not accept her rejection because I Iannos Stride reject you Violet Hope Mickelson as my mate and Luna of the pack."

This damn idiot has to have the last straw.

"I Violet Mickelson accept your rejection. Now bye jackass."
