Chapter 2 Classmate at the Door
Gu Qunian was the student council president at their school.
He was busy every day. Busy studying. Busy with experiments. Busy running the student council.
Busy enough that he forgot he still had a Boyfriend.
Gu Qunian's face went white for an instant. He calmed fast and said, "He's my high school classmate."
"I'm his Boyfriend."
The two voices came out together.
The air in the private room froze.
Li Yuqiu's face went pale. She looked at me, then at Gu Qunian, and asked him like she couldn't believe it.
"This is a joke, right, Gu Qunian? Is what he said true?"
A look like humiliation flashed through Gu Qunian's eyes. He had always hidden the question of his orientation well.
From what I could tell, his classmates had always taken him for single. That was why they tried to match him with Li Yuqiu.
He picked up his coat from the chair and dragged me out by force.
"I have something to do. Leaving first. You all keep playing."
Gu Qunian pulled hard. His grip hurt my arm, and a few red fingerprints soon showed on my pale skin.
I didn't make a sound. I let him drag me into a cab back to the Rental Apartment.
After we got home, I lost my temper first.
"Gu Qunian, what are you doing? Am I that unfit to be seen?"
"I said one sentence and you're this angry. Is it worth it?"
Gu Qunian had never admitted me in front of outsiders. Whenever we ran into someone before, he only said I was a classmate.
The look Gu Qunian gave me was ice-cold.
"Liao Xing, you think I shouldn't be angry? You followed me to the hotel. Those people are my classmates and friends."
"Where do you think you're worthy of me telling them you're my Boyfriend?"
"I work so hard every day. And you? Your grades are terrible, and you have no drive. How am I supposed to say the name of that broken school of yours?"
Gu Qunian said all of that in one breath. I could tell he was angry to the extreme.
He had never been that close with me. That was just how he was.
I knew he had grown up in a single-parent home. His temper was sensitive, and his pride was strong.
I lowered my head at once. "Don't be angry. Next time I'll do whatever you say, all right?"
"You wouldn't even reply. I was worried about you."
"I told you I got a ten-win streak in ranked today, VIP every match. You haven't played with me in so long."
Gu Qunian stayed silent.
Those cold eyes made my heart sting.
Back when he liked me, he clearly hadn't been like this.
When he chased me, he went along with whatever I wanted. He even cooked the food I liked with his own hands.
He even crossed most of the city just to surprise me.
How had Gu Qunian become like this?
I had already lowered my head. Why wouldn't he take the way out I gave him?
Today was my birthday. He was the one in the wrong first.
I had already given in so much, and he still pushed for more.
"Gu Qunian, I'm telling you. Be angry if you want. I'm done serving you!"
"Go be with that female classmate of yours."
I turned toward the bedroom and slammed the door.
If he knew what was good for him, he would come apologize. Then I would reluctantly forgive him.
A moment later, a knock did sound.
I opened the door, happy, ready for Gu Qunian's apology.
