Chapter Twenty #2
“So good, so good,” he groaned. His hand moved faster on his dick, and his whole body flushed red. It was time. I withdrew, rolled on the condom, and slicked up with lube. It was almost painful to touch myself, but when I slipped the tip past his rim, there was only pleasure. “Jaxon, please.”
He tore at the sheets, and I sank into him fully, resting for a moment, but I couldn’t stay still. Fire sheathed my dick, and I pumped into him, the hot sweetness of his ass swallowing me whole.
“Theo, oh, fuck. I can’t hold on.”
He locked his ankles around my waist as I thrust harder. Sharp nails scratched my back, but I barely felt the sting. I grasped his nape and yanked his mouth to mine, and he greedily sucked my tongue. A burst of sticky liquid spread across my belly, smearing between us.
“Jaxon…oh, God. I can’t…I can’t.”
“Yes, you can. You’re gorgeous on my cock. How bad do you want me?”
“So bad,” he choked out.
Theo writhed and shivered as he rode my dick through his climax. Our combined body heat and sweat rose like a fog, and with a cry of possession, I buried myself in Theo’s quivering body and came.
When I recovered, I was still inside Theo. His eyes were closed, and I couldn’t resist giving him a gentle kiss. Tiny golden freckles sprinkled across the bridge of his nose, matching the starbursts sprinkling his shoulders. A slight smile creased his cheek.
“Hey,” I whispered, unwilling to trust my voice yet.
“Hi,” he answered, opening his eyes.
I withdrew slowly, got rid of the condom, and brought a washcloth to clean us up. Theo remained silent as I slid under the covers, tangling my feet with his.
“That was amazing.”
Face ablaze, he ducked his head. “Yeah. I-I think so too.”
For several minutes, we lay together, my fingers playing with his waves, until my heart finally settled to its normal rhythm.
“Theo?” I called, rolling to my side and propping my chin on my elbow.
“Yeah?”
I ran my tongue over my bottom lip before chewing it. At no point in my life did I ever imagine being in this position, but it was there, like a blinding neon sign in my face I couldn’t ignore. I had to tell him.
“I never really said this to anyone knowing what it meant. I thought…well, it doesn’t matter what I thought because now I know the truth.”
“Uh, I have no idea what you’re saying.” Theo faced me. “Is there something wrong?”
“No, baby. Nothing’s wrong. Matter of fact, everything is right. I want to tell you I…I love you.”
His eyes blew wide open and the color washed from his face, leaving only those glittering emeralds. “Jaxon…”
“Shh.” I laid my fingers over his open mouth. “I know what you’re thinking.”
“You do?”
“I’m not just saying it to make you feel better about the fact that we had sex. Because what happened between us now wasn’t sex. You became part of me—part of who I am and always have been. You’re the only one I ever told about being scared to fail or not being good enough. That’s the real me.”
As I spoke, Theo took my hand, and his touch was a lifeline to my soul, which had lain dormant for so long.
“You know that’s not true. You’re the best at what you do. There’s no one better.”
I kissed the tip of his nose. “I love that you’re my biggest cheerleader.
But I’ve made some mistakes—big ones. I regret them all, but I just want you to know that my biggest regret would be to let you go.
We might’ve started out as a silly fake boyfriend experiment, but we’re so much more than that now, aren’t we?
I know I have to prove myself to you, but I’m willing to do it so you know I’m serious.
” Theo’s green eyes grew shiny, and his cheeks grew pale once again. “Wait…what’s wrong?”
“You don’t have to prove anything to me. I can’t imagine any mistake would change how I feel about you.” He sat up against the headboard, and I joined him. “In the beginning, I wasn’t sure about all this, but you’re not who I thought you were.”
“My reputation precedes me. I’m aware.”
He made a face. “I don’t care how many men you’ve been with.
What matters is the kind of person you are.
” He touched his chest. “Here. In your heart. And everything I’ve seen since getting to know you better has shown me you’re caring and sweet.
You’re willing to help people in need. Someone whose side I’m proud to stand by. ”
“God, you’re a treasure. I don’t know why no other man ever saw that, but I’m damn glad they didn’t because you probably wouldn’t be here with me now. But…”
“But what?” Theo questioned.
“It’s not always going to be fair weather. Rain might dampen our sunshine.” I stroked his cheek, and Theo nestled into my hand. I swore I could almost hear him purr. I leaned in for a kiss. “All I ask is that you still stand by my side when the storm blows in.”
“I’m not going anywhere. I’ve fallen in love with you too.”
I held him close and closed my eyes, content to cuddle in his warmth. Would he still feel the same if he knew about my affair with Lawrence? Theo wouldn’t take kindly to me sleeping with a married man. I hoped he’d never have to find out.
The conference would be over tomorrow night after the dinner dance, and then we’d be off to the amusement park. Alone.
Everything was going perfectly.
