Chapter 7

Isaw it all. There was no way for me to know what their interaction was about and why it had been so charged, but I had to admit, as I watched her seemingly grow even colder as the meeting progressed, I became even more curious.

Eventually, as I caught her during the tour of the vineyard heading over to the bar, I followed and ended up beside her.

She was seated, staring out at the gorgeous landscape as she sipped from her wine. However, it was as though she became aware of my presence because the second I spoke, she didn”t seem to have a reaction at all.

“How do you know the wedding planner?”

She took a sip of her drink and then turned around just in time to watch me order my tumbler of whiskey.

“Um... college,” she replied. “Years ago.”

“I take it you two weren’t friends?” I asked, and she seemed taken aback by my interest.

I, however, was just as surprised as it was very unusual for me to strike up a conversation of this sort with a female, which made me realize then, in something akin to shock, that it had been forever since I had been properly attracted to a female this way.

In terms of my needs as they came up, for as I was aroused, there was always an endless availability of women, and I only required a few attributes and a few minutes to get the release I wanted.

This time around, however, I was truly unable to look away from her gorgeous hazel eyes. They were every bit as pure and bright as I had predicted earlier, and it made me truly wonder about her. Her appearance wasn’t exciting in any way, and I had almost lost interest truly after I sighted her gold and dirty sneakers, but then, at her blatant annoyance at the wedding planner, which I had also felt as well due to her jumping at every chance to pester me, I couldn’t help but be somewhat entertained.

“What’s the story there?” I asked, and she turned to me almost as though in disbelief that I was asking her.

She cocked a brow.

“You really want to know?” she asked, completely surprised, and I nodded.

“Sure.”

“Um... I don’t remember,” she said. “She was my dorm roommate freshman year, things didn’t go smoothly for some reason or the other. We parted ways, and it isn”t exactly the best of sights to see or run into her.”

I watched her after this, and for a few seconds, she managed to hold my eye contact, but then she turned her face away and continued on with her drink.

“What are you going to do with the picture you took of me?” I asked, and this time around, I couldn”t physically see her stiffen. It made the corners of my lips slightly lift in amusement.

“Um... uh,” she stuttered. “I’m supposed to take photographs of all her moments.”

“You knew I was her brother when you first saw me?” I asked, and once again, she seemed stumped. But perhaps it was the alcohol and the liquid courage it gave; she didn”t seem to give a fuck because she responded.

“I didn’t know. I just thought you ... looked interesting.”

She held my gaze then, and I scoffed silently.

“You thought I looked interesting?”

She turned around then, and I shook my head as I lifted my glass for another sip. The rest of my family was outside on the terrace talking as they reviewed different options for the dessert. At this point, I was ready to leave and sure that Aurora was just rejecting everything because she purposely wanted to make everyone”s life involved difficult.

I knew her and was almost completely certain that she had made her decision even before this entire meeting started.

When I was somewhat certain that they weren’t looking, I looked at this member of her party and asked the question I needed a very direct answer to.

“You find me interesting enough to kiss me?” I asked, and this time around she nearly choked on her wine. Or perhaps she did because after this question and for the next two minutes after, she didn”t seem able to control herself and recover.

I watched and waited patiently, and eventually, she found the courage to turn around to look at me.

“Excuse me?” she asked in a little more than a whisper.

“I want to test out this attraction I have to you.”

After this, I said nothing more, and her entire skin began to flush. Her cheeks grew puffier, her chest heaved harder, and I could understand that her entire system was now going into overdrive wondering how to respond to my offer. Unluckily for the both of us, we ran out of time, and then I was forced to go as soon as I heard my mother call out to us.

“Think about it and let me know,” I said. However, before I could leave, she held onto my wrist.

My heart seemed to skip a beat as she did this. Her grip was stronger, much stronger than any woman’s I had ever seen, but there was also something so warm and soft about it. Her nails weren’t manicured like the women I was used to, but as I watched those hands, I suddenly wanted more than anything to see just how my cock would fit in them.

She stared at me, and I stared back, yet it seemed as though she still had nothing to say.

And then, eventually, I saw her eyes move to decide when she realized that we probably had an audience even though they were at a distance away.

And then she let me go. She went back to her drink without saying a word, and I smiled as I returned to the table.
